The most cost-effective morning set among many options must be the morning set at Matsunoya. I visited Matsunoya in Osaka Umeda. Oh, I'm running out of time. If I calculate backward from my next appointment, I only have about 15 minutes to eat. I bought a ticket for the Tamago Kake Gohan set at the vending machine. I chose natto as the side dish. I opted for a large portion of rice. I secured a seat and poured myself some cold tea when my number was called. I received furikake with the ticket I got earlier. The set includes raw egg, natto, rice, and miso soup. The natto comes with green onions. I prepared the natto pack and put it on the rice. I also mixed the raw egg and put it on the rice. I sprinkled some furikake on top. If I had more time, I would have added more soy sauce to the natto and raw egg to accommodate two servings of rice, but since time is limited, I didn't put too much. I also received a croquette with a coupon, poured plenty of sauce over it, and made sure I could handle two servings of rice. The process of preparing natto takes quite a bit of time. You can enjoy natto rice, tamago kake gohan, and furikake gohan - three different rice dishes. I gulped down the food quickly. It's very much appreciated that you can have a traditional Japanese breakfast for just 250 yen. ★ I also have a blog called "Living to Eat" at https://pochi12345.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-13991.html

Matsunoya has released beef cutlets. Although it is called beef cutlets, I am a bit curious because it is beef cutlets. Beef cutlets were a special treat that was more luxurious and not often eaten than tonkatsu. In my understanding, beef cutlets are cutlets made by coating beef and frying it for about 60 seconds, resulting in a almost raw-like state. When beef cutlets were introduced, I went to try them to see how they differ from beef cutlets. What I got was a cutlet made by coating beef and frying it for about 60 seconds. The cross-section was bright red, almost like raw beef. This was a completely different concept of food from beef cutlets, as I had been led to believe. Perhaps beef cutlets have been a menu item at Western restaurants in Kobe for a long time, while beef cutlets have only been introduced in the last 10 years, which may have made the distinction clearer. Leaving that aside, Matsunoya has released beef cutlets. I wonder when they last sold them. Releasing them during the sweltering heat seems a bit questionable to me. When it's hot, people tend to lean towards eating refreshing cold noodles rather than hearty cutlets. Even I, who usually can eat extra rice, visited Matsunoya where I couldn't this time. I chose the Roast Cutlet and Beef Cutlet set meal (2 pieces) for 1350 yen, the most premium menu option. I opted for a large serving of rice. I waited for my number to be called at my seat. It's ready. They brought salt and hot mustard to the table. First, I tried the beef cutlet with salt. Then I tried it with the sauce that came with it. Next, I tried the Roast Cutlet in the same way. Oh, the beef cutlet has a richer meat flavor. Compared to the beef cutlet, the tonkatsu is much lighter. The Roast Cutlet is significantly softer than the beef cutlet. I realized this only by eating them side by side. My large serving of rice is just about gone. My appetite really seems to be decreasing. "Steak Shop Matsu" uses the meat "beef cutlet" released on July 21, 2023. The popular menu item that goes perfectly with the refreshing horseradish sauce that enhances the umami of the meat is back. On July 26, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., Matsuya Foods will be re-releasing the "beef cutlet" made with the "tender red meat that enhances the umami" used at the steak specialty shop "Steak Shop Matsu" after a year. This product has received feedback that the "umami of the beef is well expressed." The one-bite-sized beef cutlet is cut into pieces, and the unique umami of the ingredients and crispy texture spread throughout the mouth. The "horseradish sauce," which is a supporting role with a strong impact that enhances the deliciousness of the meat, is characterized by a refreshing spiciness with Western-style wasabi, mayonnaise, and apple vinegar. The balance of acidity, saltiness, and spiciness is excellent, and it goes well with the meat, allowing you to enjoy the beef cutlet with a refreshing taste. Of course, the compatibility with Matsunoya's original sauce, which is aged with 12 types of spices, vegetables, and fruits, is also excellent. It is a perfect dish for rice dishes. This time, without beating around the bush, the conclusion is that this campaign actually offers the same content and price as the app coupon! So, just by installing the Matsuya app, you can always get this price. It was a missed opportunity to increase app members... As a celebration of reaching 300 stores (including other business types), the "Chicken Cutlet Set Meal for 500 yen SALE" started on June 7, 2023, and the "Pork Cutlet Set Meal for 500 yen SALE" started on June 14. (Both have already ended at the time of writing) The "Chicken Cutlet Set Meal for 500 yen SALE" resulted in disappointment as it was the same price at the same store. Now, regarding the "Pork Cutlet Set Meal for 500 yen SALE," the following three items are priced at 500 yen as a commemoration: Pork Cutlet Set Meal (590 yen) with a topping of potato salad (+70 yen) for a total of 660 yen, Miso Pork Cutlet Set Meal for 690 yen, and Grated Ponzu Sauce Pork Cutlet Set Meal for 690 yen. With this amount of food, it's best to choose a location where you won't need to go for seconds, like the store that doesn't offer refills. You can skip the ticket machine, pour yourself some tea, and then place a mobile order once you sit down (*・・)σ As the location tends to be quite crowded, it's a privilege to be able to skip the ticket machine with the mobile app. Your order number will be displayed on the monitor and called out, then you can go pick it up at the counter (Mobile orders are under the M○○ number). The taste is the usual pork cutlet set meal with potato salad, but it's always just one coin! This time, I received a set of three different service coupons, so I now have a reason to go back. This time, since it was a campaign, I was able to place a mobile order, but the mobile coupon mentioned earlier requires scanning a QR code at the ticket machine, which is an annoying and unclear requirement. I don't like waiting in line at chain restaurants, so I only use mobile orders for Starbucks and McDonald's, which are the better options. I don't make detailed customizations that can't be done through mobile ordering. If you order a few minutes in advance, you can skip the order line and have a stress-free experience! [Good Points of This Visit] I was able to provide valuable information to those who read this review!

There are only a few Matsuya locations in Osaka, with one in Nambanaka, one in Tenroku Osaka Ekimae Building, and one in Doshima. In Chuo Ward, there is only one on Nansan Street, and in Konohana Ward, there is only one on Chidoribashi. Out of the 24 wards in Osaka, only 12 have Matsuya locations. This particular Matsuya used to be full-service but has since been renovated into self-service. Unfortunately, there was no mention of free refills on the menu, unlike the Namba and Tenroku locations which offer it after renovations. However, they recently introduced a chicken cutlet menu at a discounted price, so I decided to give it a try. The chicken cutlet set meals range from 690 yen to 790 yen, with the 690 yen option being the same price as the regular pork cutlet set. I opted for the chicken cutlet set meal with potato salad topping, but I found it to be lacking in both quality and quantity. Despite the chicken being thicker than the pork cutlet, it was not very flavorful and I finished it quickly. Overall, I was disappointed with the meal.

I stopped by "Matsunoya" for breakfast on a business trip and had the "Tamago-don" for ¥290. It was made with fluffy eggs, onions, and green onions, which was just right for a morning meal. The dish had a savory sauce, so I think it's better to eat it with a spoon than chopsticks. It's amazing to see guests eating hearty dishes like pork cutlet curry or tonkatsu set early in the morning. And all of this for only ¥290 - what a great effort from the company. The restaurant seems to have a lot of seats, but managing it all must be quite a challenge. (sweat)

I was looking for lunch in Umeda and didn't have much time, so I went to a Matsunoya restaurant that I don't often see nearby. I used a coupon from the official app and got a loin cutlet set with potato salad for only 500 yen. I don't think you can eat at this price even if you buy it at a supermarket. It was delicious.

After 9:30 pm, I was alone in Osaka and most restaurants were closed. Feeling hungry, I had a sudden craving for pork cutlet curry, so I decided to go to Matsunoya. They had a special top-quality pork cutlet curry that my usual Matsuya doesn't offer, so I ordered it. It was incredibly delicious. Despite being a chain restaurant, it was so good that I felt compelled to write about it. Thank you for the meal.

I hesitated for a moment whether to have a late-night snack at a convenience store, but after checking on Tabelog, I decided to visit this restaurant. Above all, the pork cutlet set meal for ¥590 is a bit more expensive now, but I feel that it offers great value for money. The dish was served shortly after ordering, and it looked simple yet delicious. The shredded cabbage with my favorite carrot dressing as a side dish was delightful, and I shamelessly dipped the pork cutlet in the sauce and took a big bite. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal! ♩

Today, I was thinking about what to have for lunch, as the place I usually go to keeps raising prices. I was considering just going to Matsuya, but then I saw Matsunoya! I remembered there was a place like this, and they had a pork cutlet set for 590 yen! I had to go there! So, I quickly bought a meal ticket. The space was a bit cramped due to the Matsuya affiliation, but considering they can fit more people in during these times, it's understandable. When the meal arrived, it was a perfect pork cutlet set with rice, miso soup, cabbage, and all. The pork cutlet was crispy and juicy, and for 590 yen, it was quite delicious! The sauce and dressing were also tasty, making it a great value for money. The other menu items were reasonably priced as well. This pork cutlet set seems to be on par with Matsuya's beef bowl. Considering the lunch prices around here keep going up, this place is a lifesaver! I might start coming here once a week now. As a single and budget-conscious salaryman, price hikes are tough. Thanks for the meal!

When I was in the Kitashinchi area, I once ate at this tonkatsu restaurant from the Matsuya Group located in the basement of Osaka Station Front Building No. 3. I thought I wouldn't go there again, but I heard from a fellow food lover that their "katsu curry" is surprisingly delicious, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the "Large Pork Loin Katsu Curry" and it arrived in about 5 minutes. The pork loin katsu, made with a good balance of lean and fatty meat, was served with a curry that was thick and not too spicy, with a mild flavor that made it hard to stop eating. The pork loin katsu, fried to a crispy texture, paired perfectly with the carrot dressing, adding a delightful sweetness and acidity to the curry. It was incredibly delicious! I am grateful to the food lover who recommended this dish. Next, I tried it with their special sauce, which was a more traditional tonkatsu experience. I also tried it with sudachi dressing, but the carrot dressing was still the best. The large portion was very satisfying with its generous serving size. I recommend everyone to give it a try!

I got off at Umeda Station to have breakfast, and went to "Matsunoya" here. Matsunoya is a tonkatsu restaurant operated by Matsuya, known for its gyudon (beef bowl). I was intrigued by a review mentioning a 400 yen morning tonkatsu set (from around last summer), so I came to have tonkatsu in the morning. However, when I looked at the ticket machine, it was actually 490 yen. It seems the increase in cost affected the price. While 490 yen is reasonable, the 90 yen increase surprised me. I ended up getting the cheap egg bowl for 290 yen. The runny egg was good, but there was too much soup for me, making the rice soggy. I prefer it with less soup. Still, for 290 yen with miso soup and topped with green onions and trefoil, it's a good deal. Thank you for the meal.

Cheap and delicious, reliable tonkatsu. There aren't many good tonkatsu restaurants around Umeda, so I often choose based on cost. I usually order the grated tonkatsu at Matsunoya. I enjoy it with a refreshing ponzu sauce. For the parts without grated daikon, I use tonkatsu sauce. Some people look down on chain restaurants, but I am grateful for the incredible corporate efforts that make them successful. Thank you for the meal.

Sausage and egg breakfast (390 yen) at Matsunoya is not usually in my usual area of activities, so I rarely have the opportunity to use it. I wanted to have breakfast here once. I thought about having pork cutlet for breakfast, but I'm no longer young, so I decided to avoid that. I chose the sausage and egg set. You can choose a side dish, and I chose croquette. I'm a bit hesitant about having fried food here. The set comes with two fried eggs on a hot plate, sausage, miso soup, croquette, potato salad, seasoned seaweed. It's quite a generous portion. First, I poured carrot dressing on the salad and had it. The croquette was okay, just average. It's a pretty good deal for 390 yen. The only downside was the fried eggs. Even though they were cooked on a hot plate, they seemed to be cooked without any oil, so they stuck and were hard to remove.

A few minutes' walk from Umeda Station on various train lines. Had breakfast here today. The interior mainly consists of counter seats, with a few table seats available as well. First, purchase a meal ticket at the ticket machine, then find a seat. I went for the morning pork cutlet set meal, with natto as the optional side dish. Let's dig in! Despite being a 490 yen set meal, it looks quite substantial with a good variety of items. The pork cutlet isn't huge, but for breakfast, it's just the right size. Overall, it was a satisfying meal! Not related to the taste, but there are these strange signs with "Matsunoya" written on them placed at equal intervals along the counter, and they are all rusty and dirty. It's quite distracting while eating, so I hope they renovate or remove them for improvement. However, the fact that you can get full in the morning is a plus point.

The dinner the night before was light, so I'm going all out for breakfast. I had the morning set meal at Matsunoya. It may not be the healthiest option, but I think it's a decent balance of nutrients. Not many middle-aged and elderly people can eat tonkatsu for breakfast. Freshly fried tonkatsu with hot rice. Salad, natto, seaweed, and miso soup. It's really amazing to get all this for less than 500 yen. But I know I'm eating too much. I'll have to burn it off somehow. Thank you for the meal.

Matsunoya in Umeda. The thick-cut pork cutlet bowl is back on the menu. It takes a bit of time because it's thick-cut, maybe around 10 minutes? The meat is wonderfully tender. Priced at 690 yen.

In Osaka, in the Kita Ward, there is a restaurant called "Matsunoya Umeda". It is located along the Miyakojima street, towards Nakazakicho from Navio. I had the Rosu Mille-feuille Katsu set meal, priced at 690 yen including tax. According to their website, it is a mille-feuille katsu made with 7 layers of pork loin. The presentation was nice, with one piece placed sideways so you can see the layers. The texture was soft and fluffy, and the rich sauce soaked into the layers. The rice (which was free for a large portion) went well with it. It was a different texture from regular tonkatsu, and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On September 16, 2020, at 3:00 PM, Matsunoya will be re-releasing the Mega Chicken Cutlet! Made with juicy chicken thigh meat, the "Mega Chicken Cutlet Set" is a menu item overflowing with volume. This time, we tried the "Plenty of Tartar Mega Chicken Cutlet Set" which is generously topped with special tartar sauce. The price is 790 yen!

This is the usual pork cutlet bowl. It's amazing. I always eat this every time. There are various menu items such as miso cutlet, grated radish cutlet, and limited-time menu items... but this is a super reliable dish. It has a rich broth and is delicious. And it's only 550 yen, so cheap.

Matsunoya. Located near Hankyu Men's department store in Umeda and I often visit. They also have limited-time menu items, like the Yamagata dashi pork cutlet. Since it's part of the Matsuya group, they must be big on Yamagata dashi, right? I always go for the usual pork cutlet bowl (550 yen). It's delicious with a flavorful broth.
