Ramen and Mazesoba Menya Yuimaru in Osaka
Ramen and mazesoba restaurant Menya Yuimaru is located just a minute's walk from Kawaishosaka Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line in Osaka. I visit this place quite often because it's so close to my workplace. I haven't written about it on my blog, but I actually go there about 3-4 times a month! Some of my friends who read my blog have also expressed interest in going there. However, it can be a bit challenging to visit because they support employment for people with disabilities, so their operating days and hours can be a bit limited.
They are open on weekdays and irregular Saturdays from 11:30 to 14:30 (last order). Despite the limited hours, the taste they offer, passed down from their store in Miyako Island, Okinawa, is truly authentic and delicious. So, I recommend making the effort to visit at least once!
Information about their Saturday openings and temporary closures can be found on their Instagram account. The restaurant uses a modern ticket vending machine system where you purchase your meal ticket upon entering. The interior has a 6-person island table in the middle and a counter with about 10 seats. The spacing between seats is quite comfortable.
On the 10th of every month, they have a special promotion where you can get their Taiwan mazesoba, normally priced at 800 yen, for just 500 yen! They also offer set menus like the Value B Set, which includes soy sauce mazesoba and a mini Taiwan egg rice bowl.
The soy sauce mazesoba is delicious with its chewy flat noodles, well-balanced soy sauce seasoning, and toppings like boiled egg, chopped seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onions, and chashu. The mild sauce has a strong seafood flavor, a punch of black pepper, and a perfect blend of oils. It's truly a delightful dish!
Their mini Taiwan egg rice bowl comes with a generous portion of spicy Taiwan minced meat, green onions, chopped seaweed, and a raw egg yolk. The flavors blend perfectly with the rice, creating a rich and satisfying dish.
In September, they will be open on the 7th, 21st, and 28th, in addition to regular weekdays. So, if you can't make it on weekdays, consider visiting on these Saturdays. Enjoy your meal at Menya Yuimaru!
