Today's lunch was at the "Kaisendon Ekimae Shinsaibashi" in Osaka. It's a famous restaurant in Kobe, but I didn't know they had a branch in Shinsaibashi. I tried the "Negi Buri Don" (yellowtail rice bowl) for 1,040 yen. I was surprised to see yellowtail on the menu at this time of year, but I wanted to try it. I bought a meal ticket from the ticket machine, but couldn't find the yellowtail bowl on it, so I had to order verbally. The dish didn't look very appealing when it arrived, so I decided not to take a video. It was okay, but not as fatty as I expected. Overall, it was decent. The prices seemed a bit high compared to the Kobe branch, but I guess it's because of the cost of living in Osaka. The interior has counter seats and table seats at the back, with a casual atmosphere. After entering, you purchase your meal from a touch panel ticket machine and then take your seat. The menu has a wide variety of options ranging from 690 yen to over 3000 yen. This time, I ordered the seafood donburi with extra toppings. It arrived in about 6 minutes. The small bowl was filled with a generous amount of toppings due to the 1.5 times order. The tuna, sea bream, salmon, squid, and surf clam were finely chopped and mixed with the homemade soy sauce, making it very delicious. The green onions and pickled ginger added a refreshing touch. It seems that you can also enjoy it as an izakaya in the evening. There were quite a few Uber Eats and Demae-can delivery staff coming in, which made it a bit noisy. The presentation was a bit sloppy, though. I ordered just the bowl, so adding soup would have made it even more satisfying. Overall, it's not a bad shop for a casual lunch. Sometimes, there can be a difference between the amount of ikura shown in the menu photos and what is actually served, but at this restaurant, the portion of ikura was generous and satisfying. The egg between the rice and ikura was quite sweet, and when paired with a generous amount of sashimi soy sauce, it was a flavor that I personally enjoyed. Considering the ample amount of ikura and salmon in this bowl, the price of 2200 yen seems quite reasonable. Overall, this restaurant offers a variety of seafood bowls, and the unique Salmon and Ikura bowl was a delightful treat.

I've been working since New Year's, and all the shops are closed, so I was wandering around when I found a sign. And guess what, it was for my favorite dish, buri-don (yellowtail rice bowl). I went in and there were a few customers here and there. I ordered the buri-don from the sign with clam miso soup for an extra 200 yen. When it arrived, I thought, "Wait, this looks different!" But the yellowtail was fatty, no fishy smell, and very delicious. The rice portion was small, so I recommend getting the large size. It's really fortunate to be able to eat seafood bowls around here. The clam miso soup was lukewarm, though... too bad. But I'm grateful that the restaurant was open. Thank you for the meal.

I visited in the early afternoon and there were only 2 seats available at the counter. I thought it would be quick since it's a ticket machine system for ordering donburi, but I ended up waiting for over 15 minutes. The raw tuna bowl I ordered for 690 yen should be called "Tuna Scraps Bowl" because that's what it felt like, and it seems like it doesn't come with miso soup either. 690 yen is definitely cheap, but in terms of value for money, if it came with miso soup and a side dish, it would be better. The acrylic partition for COVID-19 measures was placed awkwardly, and the soy sauce dish was hard to reach, even the tea pot was difficult to grab. The soy sauce dispenser was not closed properly, so it was leaking everywhere. It seems like there is a lack of attention to detail in these areas. If there is a waiting time of nearly 20 minutes during lunch break, salarymen won't come back, and the restaurant might not make a profit with just one turnover during lunchtime. Well, I won't be going back anyway.

I had to serve my own tea in a plastic cup, which was a bit disappointing as I was hoping for a warm cup of tea. When the bowl arrived, the soy sauce seemed thick and rich. The rice was warm, and the flavor was surprisingly strong, almost like a certain famous seasoning brand. It overpowered the delicate taste of the sea bream, and I couldn't even taste the yuzu. The wasabi, which was poorly shaped, could use some improvement as well. Nonetheless, I am grateful for my healthy body today.

The seafood bowls are divided into two types based on the kind of rice: warm rice and vinegar rice. I bought a ticket from the vending machine at the entrance and took a seat. I chose the Tuna Tekkadon (750 yen) from the vending machine and added squid topping (280 yen). With tuna and squid, my bowl looked like a red and white bowl. The rice was vinegar rice, topped with seasoned seaweed. I later realized that vinegar rice has higher calories compared to regular rice, so I should have chosen regular rice. The wasabi was in a lump, so I spread it evenly before eating. Wasabi goes well with lean ingredients like squid and lean tuna. For fatty ingredients like fatty tuna, more wasabi is needed. The vinegar rice is best when it's warm, but mine was slightly cold. The special seafood bowl was visually impressive with a wide variety of seafood. However, I didn't feel the individual flavors of each piece of seafood were very pronounced. I ended up mixing everything together with soy sauce to eat. I felt that if the flavors of each type of seafood were more distinct, I would have enjoyed it more.

During my lunch break at work, I went to this place for the first time. The staff seemed to be chatting with customers at the counter, which was annoyingly loud. But the worst part was how slow the food was served! I ordered the seafood bowl at the top of the menu. It took 30 minutes from when I handed in my ticket. This is unacceptable for a lunch spot in a business district. I couldn't even make it back to the office within my break time. If it takes this long, maybe they should inform customers when ordering... I won't be going back there again. The seafood bowl had little rice and thin toppings, and for 690 yen, it was not worth it.
