Title: "Experience the Deliciousness of Hokkaido at the Aquarium Restaurant! The Pork Bowl Exceeded Expectations!" Review: Nailed it! When I visited the Otaru Aquarium, I had lunch at their restaurant and it was amazing! The restaurant had a cafeteria-like atmosphere that felt very nostalgic. I decided to try the pork bowl from the menu, but I wasn't expecting much. However, as soon as I took the first bite, all my doubts disappeared! The pork bowl was incredibly delicious, and it truly captured the essence of Hokkaido. I felt a level of satisfaction beyond my imagination in terms of taste, portion size, and ambiance. After enjoying a fun time at the aquarium, encountering such delicious food was like hitting two birds with one stone! If you ever visit the Otaru Aquarium, be sure to check out this restaurant!

Took my nephew to Otaru Aquarium. Easy access from Sapporo, becoming a popular tourist spot like the Herring Mansion. They also have sea lion and dolphin shows, but unfortunately we missed the show times on this day. However, "Marine Park" is a place where even adults can enjoy without getting bored. You can feed the seals, watch the comical movements of penguins, and admire the bearded seals that look like old men taking a bath. Time flies by quickly. After playing, we took a break at the restaurant Otaru Sankou inside the aquarium. You can order bottled beer, coffee float, soft serve ice cream, potato, etc. My father mercilessly drank a bottle of beer while I tried to resist with a coffee float, which I rarely have. (Didn't you drink at Aotsuka Shokudo before coming here? Damn it!) When I pointed the camera at him, he quickly covered his face. There is a sense of guilt after all (bitter smile). It was a weekday, so it was quiet throughout, and the view from the window was wonderful, allowing us to relax comfortably. As we left, light rain fell, and a large rainbow appeared in the sky over Shakotan! This is the first time I've seen such a big rainbow. Just seeing this made the trip worth it. Bon appétit.

I visited the restaurant at the Otaru Aquarium in August 2018. Previously operated by the Otaru Grand Hotel, it is now run by Otaru Sankou due to the hotel's closure. Located on the second floor of the main aquarium building, the restaurant allows access from both indoors and outdoors. It operates on a ticket system, where you purchase a ticket from a vending machine, hand it over at the counter divided into rice dishes and noodle dishes, receive a number tag, and wait for your number to be called over the intercom. It's self-service, with plenty of children's tableware available for use. I tried the "Taro-kun Lunch," which is essentially an omurice dish designed to look like a turtle with mini hamburgers as the head, sausage as the legs, and shrimp fry as the tail. While the taste was decent overall, the creative presentation would surely be a hit with kids. Another lunch option shaped like a walrus is also available, adding to the fun dining experience. The menu is somewhat limited, and the restaurant's atmosphere and service could use some improvement, so perhaps a different name than Otaru Sankou would be more fitting. With limited dining options at the aquarium, this restaurant and the Hamano-ya Shokudo at the Marine Park are the only choices available. Despite this, the prices are reasonable, making it a fair choice for a meal while visiting the aquarium.

At the Otaru Aquarium, they sell NapoliN (^_^) Float for 380 yen including tax. It feels a bit expensive here, so I decided to try it for the first time. I skipped the food items and went straight for the soft serve ice cream, thinking they might top it with something like macarons. But instead, they poured NapoliN 250ml canned Sapporo beer over ice in a cup, opened the ice cream lid, and placed it on top. It was a bit disappointing as it felt like I was just paying for the show. However, the taste was good. It's not exactly like orange soda, but NapoliN is something I always drink when I come to Hokkaido. Thanks for the meal! Thank you for visiting and reading. It's more like a university cafeteria than a restaurant. The taste is acceptable if you think of it as cafeteria food. The prices may seem high for the taste, but there aren't many other options around. They do have lunch plates with cute aquarium character motifs. The taste is average, but the view is really nice. I would love to gaze at the ocean view again.

I visited this restaurant as part of my trip to the aquarium. I had an early dinner because the evening show starts at 6 pm and I didn't want to miss it. Honestly, the food was nothing special. It was like the food you would get at an old ski resort or facility. I tried the miso katsu, but both the miso flavor and the katsu were just average. You shouldn't expect too much from the food here, especially if you have a refined palate like mine. However, they do have menu items for kids inspired by the animals at the aquarium, which I think they would find cute and enjoyable. The aquarium itself is great with entertaining shows, but the food, well, it's just okay.

We decided to visit the aquarium in winter and ended up going to the Otaru Aquarium. Since we had come all the way to Otaru, we thought about having delicious sushi for lunch, or maybe trying the an-kake yakisoba. While exploring the aquarium, we found that there were quite a few interesting things to see even in winter. We got so absorbed in looking around that we realized it was already past noon. Suddenly, we noticed that there was a restaurant in the aquarium. We decided to take a look at the menu with photos. My partner said, "How about eating here?" So, we chose to eat at the aquarium restaurant. As for the taste, in this kind of place, it's not bad at all. It's not that the food isn't delicious, it's just that it's to be expected.

This is SanKo restaurant inside the aquarium. There is also a SanKo restaurant at the TV Tower, are they related? It is located on the second floor of the aquarium, right next to the touch pool. After enjoying the super cold touch pool, where my hands were shaking, it was time for lunch. I made sure to wash my hands properly (lol). It was so much fun with the octopuses, sea slugs, doctor fish, etc. This time, for lunch, I ordered the classic pork cutlet curry. The price was around 1000 yen (I forgot). I remember feeling like the portion was small when I had it before, but maybe it was just me? This time, it was quite a generous size. The pork cutlet was also quite large. The curry had the nostalgic taste of a Showa era coffee shop that I love so much. It was mild in spiciness but had a unique richness. I really love this flavor! However, the pork cutlet... The meat itself was okay, but the batter was thick, greasy, and not crispy, more soggy, so it was quite tough to eat... Surprisingly, my child also left the pork cutlet uneaten... The price is a bit high, but it's a plus that the food comes out quite fast even when it's crowded. After enjoying the show, we had a delicious meal! The summer limited dolphin show, where they surf on a board, was amazing! Thank you for the meal!

On the way back from Yoichi, my sister informed me that we were going to Otaru Aquarium for the sake of my niece. When we arrived at the aquarium, I realized that my niece was accompanied by her parents as well. It had been decades since I last visited an aquarium, so I also wanted to go. However, taking care of my niece and keeping an eye on her parents, who tended to wander off, proved to be quite challenging. Feeling tired from looking after them, I decided to take a break at a soft serve ice cream stand inside the aquarium. The only flavor available was rich milk, priced at 320 yen per cone. I bought a ticket from the vending machine and handed it to the attendant. The soft serve was slightly small in size, but the taste of the sweet milk was just right for my tired body. However, I couldn't help but feel that 320 yen was a bit expensive for this size and flavor. Are facilities like this generally expensive? Thank you for the meal.

**2016.05** Walking along the coast of Otaru with my spouse.. It's been a while since we visited an aquarium, so we decided to check it out (^o^) The seal show, penguin walk, and dolphin show were all so enjoyable even for adults! So, we decided to have lunch at the aquarium's restaurant. Why was it a special occasion? (just kidding) I didn't have high expectations, so I was pleasantly surprised by the experience (laughs). This restaurant is part of the famous "New Sankyo" group in Otaru, which also has branches in Sapporo Station. Normally, you would expect good food, but the reviews from others were quite harsh (laughs). Well, it's a restaurant in a facility like this, so... I ordered the soy sauce ramen for 790 yen from the ticket machine. I handed the ticket to the cute waitress and sat at a table with a view of the sea. After about 10 minutes, my number was called, and I went to pick up my order. I don't use them, but there were pepper, napkins, and small plates for kids placed around the restaurant. It's thoughtful, considering it's a restaurant in a children-focused aquarium! And now, let's dig in! The soup seemed to be pork bone-based with a slightly sweet flavor. Maybe it's kid-friendly? Oh, and the soup wasn't too hot, which might be intentional for kids (laughs). The noodles were medium thickness and slightly curly, cooked just right for my liking. The chashu was tender with a good amount of fat. Overall, it was just like any other restaurant ramen, but tastier than I expected (laughs). Thank you for the meal! Next time, I think I'll eat somewhere else after leaving the aquarium!

8/12/2015 First visit Since the personnel change in April until today... I had never taken a full day off (^_^;) Today is the day I promised to go to Otaru Aquarium with my nephew♪ I picked up my nephew early in the morning and headed straight to Otaru!! Upon arrival, we walked around the aquarium as my nephew pleased. He absolutely loves feeding the seals and sea lions, so he ended up spending most of his allowance on feeding them (lol) Well, as long as he's having fun, that's all that matters, right? And then lunch. Since we still had to explore the aquarium, we decided to have lunch at the restaurant inside the aquarium. It was quite crowded, even though it was a weekday and close to lunchtime... We managed to find an available table and secured it. Then we lined up at the ticket machine. There were two machines, and it took about 10 minutes to buy the meal tickets (^_^;) I had a bad feeling about this type of cafeteria, so I decided to pass on the ramen. I chose the pork bowl (900 yen) instead... Expensive!! My nephew wanted soy sauce ramen (780 yen), so I bought that... Expensive!! My wife went to buy her meal ticket. She chose the hamburger plate, probably around 900 yen. Then she went to submit the tickets to the kitchen. We were given a number tag and waited to be called. It took about 15 minutes from submitting the tickets until all the dishes were ready. Anyway... the pork bowl was a disaster... There was just a small amount of pork on top of the rice!! And for 900 yen, it was the worst value for money. The ramen looked normal. Bad value for money as well. The hamburger plate was the same. It's understandable that prices are higher in tourist areas. At that time, I had accepted this fact. We started eating... First, my pork bowl. The amount of meat was small, but what surprised me more was the rice. Was this... rice cooked in a lunch box!? Hard and with a core-like texture. You don't encounter this often... At this point, the taste of the meat becomes irrelevant. As for my wife's hamburger plate, it definitely looked like a frozen hamburger from the store... This is terrible... My nephew couldn't eat directly from the bowl yet, so he transferred it to a small dish and ate from there. He didn't complain and ate as usual. But he couldn't finish it all by himself, so I joined in halfway. The result... this was the best (laughs) The spinach had a canned smell, but the soup and noodles were okay. I made a mistake... Ramen was the right choice from the beginning (^_^;) However, if we were to rate it like a regular ramen shop, the taste would barely get a 3.0, but since the value for money was bad, we couldn't give it a good score. Even in a tourist area, with an environment where customers enter quietly, this is unacceptable... The cafeteria on the seaside is much better. And if you have the time, it's definitely better to go outside the aquarium for a meal, even if it's a bit of a hassle. I think I will visit Otaru Aquarium again, so I vowed to take this as a lesson. The aquarium was fun, but the food was not good!! I will make sure to feed my nephew something tastier next time!! P.S. We also enjoyed exploring in the afternoon♪

Afternoon at the aquarium is fun ♡ Today, I was planning to go to the aquarium in Sanpi, but I decided to extend my visit here and I'm glad I did. I'm more excited than the kids haha. After seeing various fish, it's time for the dolphin show! My excitement is rising. There's still some time left, so I'm taking a break here. The soft serve ice cream is 350 yen, a bit on the pricey side, probably due to it being a tourist spot. I don't feel like having a meal. According to my little brother, the soft serve was delicious. The view from the window at the back is quite stunning and feels nice. Thank you for the meal. Now, off to see the dolphin show! The seals, penguins, and dolphins are all cute. It was so much fun (*^^)v =

I'm alive and well in August 2014! The snow has finally started to fall. My review is in full swing in the middle of summer (laughs). Summer vacation. If I don't take the kids somewhere, there will be booing... Where should we go... I wonder if they're tired of the Marine Park or Sun Plaza... Oh! How about the Otaru Aquarium that we've never been to??? Unanimous decision. So, after looking around the aquarium for a while, the inevitable "I'm hungry" starts to be heard. Well, let's go to the restaurant then! There's a ticket machine at the entrance... (。-_-。) I couldn't help but blurt out, "Wow, it's expensive!" But if you're hungry, you have no choice but to eat, right (^^; I ordered the "Seafood Ankake Yakisoba" for my little one, my husband got the "Pork Cutlet Curry," my eldest daughter got the "Miso Pork Cutlet Bowl," and my second and third daughters got the "Omelette Rice." The spacious dining area is quite crowded. We got a seat by the window and went to hand in our tickets at each station. We got a number tag and waited. When our number was called, we went to pick up our food. Everything looked delicious!! Now let's eat. Everyone said it was delicious as they ate. The yakisoba was okay, but the crucial ankake sauce was... as you can see in the picture, it was lumpy. It might be a soy sauce-based flavor. But the taste of the starch really stood out... The noodles and ingredients were all stuck together... and I ended up stopping eating. Fortunately, my little one ate it, so that was good. I can't spit out poison like some old man (>_<) but let me say one thing! "This is no good." I've decided. Next time we go to a place like this, I'll make some rice balls to bring with us! And that's that. Thank you for the meal♪
