In the evening, the menu focuses on yakiniku dishes. ▼Food Tried▼ - Kalbi Don (650 yen) I tried the Kalbi Don in February 2021. The dish comes with soup. The Kalbi Don consists of rice topped with shredded cabbage, Kalbi meat, kimchi, green onions, and mayonnaise. The meat was cooked well and had a good texture and flavor. It paired nicely with the kimchi and mayonnaise. ▼Impressions▼ I visited this meat-focused restaurant located on the street leading from Kintetsu Nagase Station towards the west gate of Kinki University. The restaurant opened in 2018 in the former location of Johnny's Karaage. They offer meat rice bowls for lunch and yakiniku and alcohol for dinner. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, they were open for lunch when I visited. The Kalbi Don I tried was surprisingly good, with tasty meat and a nice combination of flavors with the kimchi and mayonnaise. I would like to try other rice bowl dishes and the yakiniku for dinner on another occasion.

This is my third time at Ton-chan. The owner is friendly and we had a fun conversation. The meat is incredibly delicious, making it my favorite yakiniku restaurant right now. I can only go about once a month, but when I come to Nagase, I definitely want to go again.

Invited by two friends for the first time to Tonchan in front of Nagase Station! We ate quite a variety of dishes but drank too much and forgot to take many photos... We had tongue sashimi, kalbi, harami steak, teppanyaki, tomato slices, garlic fries, wakatama soup, and more~ Even though I couldn't take photos, everything was of great quality for the price! The portions were generous and we were very satisfied with the food. I think the drinks were also really cheap - perfect for drinkers! Next time, I'll make sure to take lots of photos and try more dishes.
