Today, we had a family New Year's gathering using Fukuoka Prefecture's meal vouchers! We visited a bar where drinks are cheap, and it was our first visit in about a year! We looked through the menu and ordered items that caught our eye. We had various dishes such as sashimi, grilled chicken skewers, grilled chicken gizzards, omelette, yakisoba, and more. The highlight was the senmai (pig's stomach) sashimi, which is rare in this area and always a must-order for us. The sashimi was fresh, and the skewers were also delicious. One unique item we tried this time was the whole macadamia nuts that we cracked ourselves. The flavor was amazing and different from store-bought ones. The owner seems to take pride in their motsunabe soup, so we plan to try that next time with an empty stomach. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Initially, I tried to go to another restaurant but it was full so I gave up... I decided to revisit this place because the cost performance was good when I went there before! (Shochu and Chuhai are 250 yen, the cheapest in the area...) On my second visit today, I also tried some new menu items! - Grilled skewers of pork belly, white chicken liver, chicken soft bone, sand lance, chicken thigh - Fried blowfish (600 yen) - Grated yam and cheese on a hot plate half size (500 yen) - Motsu nabe (900 yen) - Sesame amberjack half size - One bite grilled dumplings (450 yen) * There was no half size option for the grated yam mentaiko cheese on a hot plate... The skewers were generous in size! The liver was cooked to a rare finish, making it delicious even when eaten raw...! The sesame amberjack was not too sweet in soy sauce, and was refreshing and tasty! A highlight of this visit was the motsu nabe! It was very light to eat as it was based on jaw broth! They make their own soy sauce-based sauce and mix it with jaw broth at a ratio of 1:9, making it even more refreshing... For the finish, I wanted to have porridge but they ran out of rice, so I had champon. The champon was also delicious with the perfect broth! I ended up spending a little over 4,000 yen after eating and drinking quite a bit... It's a great deal!

Today, after visiting the sea fishing park, I came here for dinner. I spent 4 hours fishing but didn't catch a single fish... I didn't even feel a nibble... haha. It was my first time visiting this place, and I was impressed by the sign next to the entrance that said "Cheapest in the area! 250 yen per drink." Great deal! The restaurant had both counter seats and traditional tatami seating, and was of medium size. I ordered the following dishes while looking at the menu:
- Carpaccio
- Beef intestines sashimi
- Kimchi
- Fried chicken (garlic soy sauce)
- Cheese and grated yam on a hot plate
- Yakitori (pork belly, chicken gizzard, chicken meatballs, chicken liver)
- Rolled omelette
With a glass of draft beer in hand, I enjoyed the dishes. The beef intestines sashimi was a nice treat, and went well with the drinks. The cheese and grated yam on a hot plate had a great texture with the fluffy yam and gooey cheese. The yakitori was generously portioned and offered good value. I also decided to order some more dishes:
- Steamed dumplings
- Deep-fried bamboo shoots
- Stir-fried vermicelli with spicy pickled vegetables and cod roe
The deep-fried bamboo shoots were recommended for pairing with sake or shochu, and they were delicious. And the fact that sake and shochu were only 250 yen per glass was amazing. As the drinks and food kept coming, I couldn't help but appreciate the delicious food and great value at this honest restaurant!

Located in Minami-ku, we visited this izakaya with friends who live nearby. The interior had both table and counter seating, with spacious tatami seating where we could relax. The best part was the delicious food and great value for money! We enjoyed dishes like homemade stick chicken, pig trotters, teppanyaki shrimp, chili mayo, and bonito tataki. Even though there were two of us, we ate and drank a lot and it only cost around 3000 yen per person. We left feeling full and satisfied! We will definitely visit again when staying at our friend's place!
