I was recommended this restaurant for its delicious food. It is located just a few minutes from Shinjuku's Ooguard. When you go downstairs, you will find a nostalgic-smelling interior. The atmosphere was calming. This place specializes in chicken dishes, so we ordered a variety of chicken dishes. They all looked great and tasted amazing. The prices are a bit high, but it was definitely worth it. I highly recommend this place for a slightly luxurious dinner.

First visit. It was bustling with young people. The izakaya has a traditional old house style, and the sliding door is charming. Some find the toilet key confusing, but it has a quaint atmosphere. The appetizers were very luxurious. And the grilled skewers were delicious, especially the thick cuts of meat. The rice balls were particularly tasty. Thank you for the meal.

I made a reservation in advance to visit Ohajiki-san, a place I had wanted to come to for a while. The atmosphere at the entrance seemed nice, and the interior of the restaurant was also very pleasant. A cute dog welcomed me at the door, which was very soothing. I tried various menu items, and the grilled chicken skewers were delicious and came in generous portions. The other dishes on the à la carte menu were just okay in my opinion. The appetizers were too filling and I ended up feeling full. Overall, it was a good experience to finally visit this place.

I visited a lunch spot that had jazz playing in the background. I ordered the "Grilled Chicken Breast with Grated Daikon and Ponzu Sauce Set Meal S". It was served in about 10 minutes. The chicken breast was slightly rare and very delicious. It came with oden and liver paste, making it a satisfying set meal that I wanted to pair with a drink.

A restaurant specializing in chicken dishes. Not just chicken breast, but also organ meats can be eaten as sashimi, indicating the freshness of the ingredients is good and the food is delicious. However, the drinks, food, and bill take too long to arrive, and the prices are a bit high. The slow service could possibly be improved through better staff training, but the prices do not match the portion sizes. If the current taste doesn't improve in terms of portion size and speed of service, dissatisfaction will continue to accumulate. The specialty fried chicken made from local chicken is rare because the meat is rare, but... it's just rare. You don't really feel like it's fried. It took over an hour to order. (The restaurant was not full, it was nearly empty. There is no reason for such delays other than negligence.) I will not be revisiting.

I walked about 10 minutes from Nishi-Shinjuku, relying on a map app to find the place. The shop is located underground, with a low entrance like a hidden gem. The interior has a Japanese-style atmosphere, which is very nice. They seem to have a lot of confidence in their chicken procurement. The rare doneness of the chicken was exquisite. It was perfect for someone like me who enjoys raw food. The yakitori skewers were large and satisfying. The unique fried chicken was delicious, especially when paired with the sesame sauce. However, I could taste the strong flavor of MSG in some parts, and the service for food and drinks was quite slow, causing some stress. Overall, I think it's a place with attention to detail and worth recommending.

After a long time since the end of the pandemic, I visited this shop. The size of the shop is comfortable. The large portion of yakitori is delicious and goes well with alcohol.

The appetizers were luxurious and the dishes were delicious. There was a variety of drinks, so you won't have trouble choosing. The lineup was focused on specialties from Yamanashi.

On a Saturday night with limited options, I stumbled upon this restaurant. The entrance was dark and hard to find, so I initially passed by. Both outside and inside the restaurant had tacky decorations like beckoning cats. Going downstairs, I found a low wooden door. Inside, the atmosphere was unexpectedly warm and inviting, which raised my hopes. However, the food was disappointing. The portions of yakitori were too large, like 1.5 to 2 times the normal size, similar to a popular chain. The tsukune (for some reason, the price increased that day) was about 4 times the usual amount. I wish this had been explained beforehand. We ordered too much, and barely managed to finish the first round. The seasoning was like home cooking, not up to restaurant standards. The kitchen was fully visible, and they used a lot of tube seasonings, which was visually unappealing. The meat was fresh but served rare, which was a letdown. I won't be returning.

I often visit this place. They serve delicious Koshu Jidori chicken. Their dish called "karaage," which is more like sashimi, is excellent.

Anyway, this restaurant is all about rare dishes. Their specialty is the almost raw or soft fried chicken, which is quite unusual. Surprisingly, the best thing I tried was the crispy chicken skin. Personally, this place made me realize that I'm not a big fan of rare meat. It left a lasting impression on me. The next day, I had horse sashimi and craved more Maillard reaction! If you're looking for a cozy inn-like atmosphere and a taste of rare chicken in the Shinjuku area, this might be a good place to try. By the way, even the skewers were on the rare side (laughs).

I like the atmosphere with the shop dog and the cozy feel inside the restaurant. The chicken skewers were satisfying with large pieces of meat, and the sashimi was delicious. Overall, it was okay. However, the female staff member who seemed to be in charge was very rude, scolding the staff in front of customers and giving off an irritated vibe.
