Today, on May 11, 2023 (Friday), I had a solo lunch in Kurosaki at a place I discovered while walking the other day. The place that caught my interest is called "Sanmaru Udon." It's a bit hidden away and not listed on Tabelog. The interior is a bit messy, with bags of flour sitting on the chairs at the counter. But despite that, I gave this place a 4-star rating because the couple who run it are really wonderful. They served me water and two onigiri. The freshly made onigiri was delicious, with perfectly shaped rice balls and tasty furikake. The homemade takana was surprisingly good, even though I usually don't like it. The wife told me it was homemade. I ordered the tempura udon, which had Kyushu-style noodles that were very soft but delicious. The father puts effort into making them just right. The clear yet flavorful broth was so good that I couldn't help but compliment it out loud. When the father heard me, he smiled and said the broth was tasty. The tempura was crispy and delicious, with high-quality oil making it even better. The shrimp was packed with meat, making it a delight to eat. Overall, the presence of the couple and the delicious food made this a very satisfying lunch. I will definitely come back here again. Next time, I'll try the secret Nara pickles. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
