I had always wanted to visit this place, but due to their regular holidays and Obon vacation, it took me a few years to finally make my dream visit! Even though I thought I should go for the classic Vanilla Beans Anglaise on my first visit, I ended up choosing the Mistral with Raspberry Gelee, which is a limited-time offering and seemed a bit more refreshing! The Raspberry Gelee really helped reduce the sweetness and it was a nice touch! Maybe next time I'll try the classic Anglaise?

The double matcha with matcha and chocolate has a strong tea aroma and bitterness. The chocolate also has a rich flavor. I had planned to order a chocolate drink beforehand but got busy and forgot. They also have other flavors like vanilla, salted caramel, cafe latte, yogurt, etc. They mainly focus on chocolate.

I couldn't eat in at the cake shop, so I visited the chocolate shop next door. I ordered an extra ice chocolate drink. I waited at the counter seat where I could see the spacious kitchen. There were lively children running around. The chocolate drink was rich, cold, and delicious.

This is a chocolate specialty shop located in Kyomachi-bori. The shop is bright with glass windows and has a small cozy interior where you can also eat in. The showcase displays beautifully crafted chocolate cakes. I purchased the following items: - Fish 3 Colors (¥780): Assortment of dark, milk, and white chocolate shaped like fish and shells. - Caramel Chocolat (¥820): Caramel with a strong chocolate flavor and a good balance of sweetness. - Mini Cannele (¥120): Cute bite-sized cannele that is moist and fragrant. Next time, I want to try their gelato and cakes as it was difficult to carry them around.

I managed to squeeze in before the summer vacation and got a few types of takeout, but the cake in the photo was the best. It seems to be a popular type, and I can see why. The appearance exudes a sense of solidity and geometric beauty, while the fork easily glides in despite the looks. The cream inside is smooth and the texture is gentle. If I have the chance to go again, I would like to try something other than the cake.

During this trip, I didn't have a chance to visit any patisseries as hot springs and sightseeing were the main focus. However, I felt it would be a waste not to visit one while in Osaka, so I made time to visit one place. The chosen patisserie was "Le Petit Papillon," a chocolate shop where you can enjoy carefully crafted chocolate petits gateaux by a French chocolatier. It's located about a 10-minute walk from Higobashi Station, across from Nishi-Funabashi Park, in a quiet area. Despite its small size, the shop has 3 tables and counter seats, providing a cozy space for dining in. They offer over 10 varieties of petits gateaux, with a focus on chocolate creations. Since I dined in, I managed to narrow it down to 3 items to enjoy in the shop.
- Anglees (580 yen) ★3.9
Their most popular item, shaped like a pyramid with chocolate mousse on the outside. Inside, there's a sauce made with vanilla beans enclosed within a crispy chocolate shell. The sauce, made with milk chocolate, is very rich. When combined with vanilla, it creates a smooth and creamy flavor.
- Blanche Neige (610 yen) ★4.0
Initially a limited edition item, it became a regular due to high demand. This pyramid-shaped dessert features white chocolate and vanilla bean ganache on the outside, with strawberry sauce hidden inside. The gentle sweetness of white chocolate, paired with the flavor and acidity of strawberries, creates a well-balanced and delicious treat.
- Luvan (590 yen) ★3.9
A distinctive feature of this dessert is its beautiful glaze. It contains a rich and creamy chocolate mousse with praline inside for a crunchy texture. Enjoying the chocolate until the last bite while taking a break with the biscuit base was a delightful experience.
Although I had limited time, I hurriedly enjoyed these desserts, each showcasing a strong and rich chocolate flavor. It was a fulfilling experience to savor plenty of chocolate. Osaka's patisseries are of high quality, making me want to visit again for more culinary delights. Thank you for the delicious treats.

Head to "Le Petit Papillon" in Nishi-ku, Osaka. It is located about 400m southwest from Exit 7 of Higobashi Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line, along the street on the south side of Nishi-Funabashi Park. The restaurant has 1-2 parking spaces in front. The eat-in space consists of 4 straight counter seats, 2 tables for 3 people, 1 table for 2 people, and 2 tables for 2 people set up outside the shop, totaling 16 seats. Visited on a Saturday after 3 pm with about 10 customers already there. Luckily, managed to get a seat at the counter. The menu and information give a chocolate-oriented vibe, but they also offer cakes and gelato. Ordered the weekend and holiday limited "Mont Blanc Parfait" for 1,450 yen and an "Iced Coffee" for 500 yen. The parfait had a firm chestnut cream with a strong texture, with whipped cream and rum raisins inside the ice cream. The bottom part included meringue that resembled biscuits, a sponge cake soaked with melted ice cream, and a chocolate ice cream area sprinkled with chocolate jelly. With cold desserts, it can be difficult to taste the rich chocolate due to the coldness, but as you dig deeper with the spoon into the parfait glass, a refined bitterness emerges. The iced coffee, with a roasted aroma rather than acidity, complements the sweetness of the parfait. It was a delightful meal!

I visited the place attracted by the limited-time Mont Blanc parfait available around 4 pm on weekdays. The staff mostly stay in the back, but they come out to take orders and handle payments. The parfait consisted of chocolate and coffee flavors more prominently than chestnut. The size was similar to the parfaits at family restaurants like Gusto. If you're expecting a chestnut-focused parfait, you might be a bit disappointed. Thank you for the meal.

At the French chocolatier's chocolate shop, they have a variety of cakes with chocolate as the main ingredient. When it comes to Papiotte, think pyramid-shaped! The crispy chocolate on the outside encases a smooth mousse inside, creating a nice texture contrast. If asked for a recommended chocolate cake shop, I would definitely recommend Papiotte! It's surprisingly convenient to have a parking lot available.

As an old man who loves sweets, I'm sorry... The storefront is amazing, so I couldn't help peeking inside, where the delicious-looking sweets were sparkling. I was drawn in as if by a whirlpool and entered the shop. I had only seen the cakes displayed in the showcase, but I had a feeling that this was going to be something special. When I asked the staff for recommendations, they suggested the "Anglaise." I had no objections. I was considering getting coffee, but there was a wide variety of chocolate drinks available. I was told that the plain ice chocolate drink wasn't too sweet, so I ordered that. I've heard that in French, "Anglaise (English)" is often used in a negative way, so why is custard sauce called Anglaise? Is it because it's simple? The pyramid-shaped dessert had a steep slope and a precise, beautiful form. The surface was harder than I expected, and the fork didn't easily go in. This was incredibly delicious! Inside, there was chocolate mousse and Anglaise sauce. The contrast between the hard and soft textures of the chocolate, the contrast in flavors between chocolate and custard, the contrast in colors between brown and custard... everything worked together to appeal to the taste, sight, and smell. This was the most memorable sweet treat of the year. I will definitely revisit.

My partner bought these cakes for me. The square cube-shaped "Fleur" has a pink exterior made of raspberry. Inside, there is a bitter chocolate mousse with a fresh mint mousse in the center. It's my first time trying mint mousse, and the combination of mint with chocolate was surprising. The other hemisphere-shaped "Tropic" cake is filled with pure white coconut mousse and coconut cream. It looks simple from the outside but is exotic and tropical on the inside. These cakes are like a surprise box, revealing unexpected flavors.

This is a cake shop located less than a 10-minute walk from Higobashi Station on the Yotsubashi Line. It is situated in front of a park, and its exterior doesn't clearly look like a cake shop. The interior is smaller than expected and has a casual atmosphere. Although children are welcome, the space may be too cramped for young children to move around freely. The shop seems more suitable for adults dining alone or in small groups. There are counter seats for 4 people and about 3 small tables for 2 people each. Originally planning to have a classic cake, I decided to try the Mont Blanc parfait (1450 yen) which is only available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It was ready in about 5 minutes and made with coffee ice cream, chocolate, chocolate whip, roasted nuts, and more. The chocolate flavor is not too bitter, and the mix of different chocolates adds a fun element to the dessert. The chestnut paste is not overpowering and complements the chocolate well, creating a balanced Mont Blanc. It was a luxurious and enjoyable experience. The shop offers seasonal limited parfait options, so I would like to try different ones in the future. I highly recommend this parfait to others for its delicious taste. I also look forward to trying their classic pyramid-shaped chocolate cake.

This is a shop run by a French chocolatier in Honmachi. The store is located on the 1st floor of Le Petit Papillon Mansion, with a stylish parasol sign outside. You can also dine in and enjoy the Mont Blanc parfait, which looks delicious. But what caught my attention was the Rose Tea Set. Veil Rose Tea is a rare green tea with a hint of rose fragrance. Rose tea, rose chocolate, rose ice cream... it seems good for beauty and enhances femininity. The drink menu includes authentic chocolate drinks made with carefully selected beans. You can also enjoy flavored teas with a French atmosphere. They also have gelato. I decided to try the Rose Tea Set, and the tea smelled really nice. However, the fragrance seemed to disappear quite quickly. It must be the scent of real roses. The spoon for the ice cream slid in smoothly. The white chocolate with Damask rose fragrance was beautiful. I also took some photos of the cakes they sell. They are so beautiful, with exquisite cakes made with chocolate and fruits. They also have bonbons. It's a luxurious tea time.

I always used to get cakes to go, but this time I finally had the chestnut parfait I've been wanting! The top was loaded with cream like a Mont Blanc cake, heavy and satisfying! Below that were delicious chocolates waiting. If you have a sweet tooth, you could easily finish it all by yourself! Only available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I was with my child so I couldn't take a proper picture... I want to come back next time and enjoy it slowly by myself. Just the smell of chocolate in the store makes you feel happy.

Gradually, as the early summer sunshine intensifies and warm days increase, the craving for ice cream begins to emerge. One of the dessert shops in Kyomachi-bori, Osaka, "Le Petit Papillote," known for its chocolates, is also highly acclaimed for its ice cream! On a certain weekday... on a warm Friday afternoon around 1:30 pm, I visited the shop. There were already about three groups of customers, including families with children, couples, and foreign tourists! The customer base was quite diverse. The shop has multiple seating options inside and outside, with the outside area having a cozy open cafe vibe.
[Purchase]
Since the ice cream here melts easily, the ordering and payment process is done at the register upon entering the shop. The ice cream "Chocolat" (tax included 370 yen) is priced for takeout, with a 50 yen increase for eat-in. This time, I chose the simple "Chocolat" ice cream since it's a chocolate shop! The first bite... it was smooth and creamy, cold and delicious. It had a rich and elegant taste with a subtle sweetness. Despite being so rich, the ice cream melted easily, giving it a smooth texture. Taste is a matter of preference, but I personally thought it was delicious.
[Evaluation]
The atmosphere of the shop was great, and the taste was quite impressive. The service by the staff was decent. The cost-performance considering the slightly higher prices of the cakes is average. Overall rating of over 3.5 stars is fair (3.7).
"Le Petit Papillote" is a lovely chocolate shop where you can also enjoy delicious ice cream! Located in front of the quiet Nishi-Funabashi Park, it is highly recommended as one of the top 100 dessert shops. If you have the chance, why not stop by and try it out? On the way to a curry restaurant destination, I happened to pass by a trendy-looking shop and thought, "Hmm, this place looks cool." However, the main shop was closed for the day, so I turned back and headed to this place instead. It was a hot day, and the sign saying "We have ice cream" caught my attention. Considering that I would be walking around, I was prepared for the chocolate to melt... I chose a single scoop of chocolate ice cream for ¥420 (tax included). They had a selection of five flavors, but since it was a chocolate specialty shop, I went with the chocolate ice cream. When I mentioned I would be eating in, they told me to choose any seat I liked, so I chose a table by the window overlooking the park. After a while, they brought me a glass of water, which was much appreciated since I was thirsty. The chocolate ice cream wasn't as rich in flavor due to being cold, but it was refreshing and perfect for a hot day.

I visited around 12 o'clock on a regular day. There were 3 other customers, and I was able to purchase and sit down immediately. This is a sweets shop known for its pyramid-shaped cakes. The shop has 4 counter seats and 8 various table seats. You can watch chocolate and cakes being made in the back. This time, I ordered the "Blanche Neige" for 610 yen and the "Earl Grey Détente" for 500 yen. The Blanche Neige consists of white chocolate and vanilla ganache, strawberry sauce, and layers of chocolate sponge. The ganache has a moderate sweetness with a hint of vanilla. However, the sweetness of the strawberry sauce was too strong for me, making the balance feel off. Despite the disappointment, the chocolate had a good melt-in-your-mouth texture. The cake was visually stunning, and the chocolate flavor, being a chocolatier, was top-notch. Thank you for the meal.
