I had decided to eat at another restaurant, but since it was closed, I came to Matsunoya! I like it because the taste at this chain restaurant is always consistent (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))♡ If I were to make a request, I would ask for a bit more tartar sauce. It was delicious. Thank you♪

Today, I stopped by Matsuya Kosaka store for breakfast while on the go. Matsuya offers a great breakfast deal with free refills on rice and miso soup, and you can get a set meal of egg over rice starting at 250 yen. However, despite coming all the way to Matsuya, I made the mistake of ordering items like tamagodon and tonjiru which do not come with free refills. Matsuya Kosaka store, located at 2-17-9 Mikuri-cho, Higashi-Osaka City, Osaka, may offer the best value breakfast option.

I went to a restaurant that was having a two-week sale for just one coin, as recommended by the "Nyunn♪♪" on MyReby, from June 14th to 21st. I ordered the Pork Cutlet with Ponzu Sauce Set Meal (tax included ¥690 → ¥500). The one "Nyunn♪♪" had was the Tartar Chicken Cutlet Set Meal (tax included ¥790 → ¥500), so I felt like I missed out a bit. My wife had the Pork Cutlet Set Meal with a Potato Salad topping (tax included ¥660 → ¥500), and she got extra rice and miso soup for free. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. (Note: Some stores may not offer free refills)

Matsu no Ya Kosaka branch is my favorite. Especially for Sunday breakfast, it's the best. The breakfast menu "Tokumori Sausage Egg Set" is a satisfying and filling option. The amount you get for 390 yen is great value for money. It's also nice that you can get free refills. The Kosaka branch is clean inside and having a free parking lot is much appreciated.

▽Morning Special Loin Cutlet Curry 490 yen▽
This is a morning limited menu item that consists of loin cutlet curry. The curry is light with a unique spicy flavor and a hint of spiciness, which is quite enjoyable. The main cutlet is slightly smaller but well fried to a crispy texture, simple yet delicious.

This is a nationwide chain restaurant under the brand of Matsunoya (Matsunoya) operated by Matsuya, a major player in the gyudon chain industry. The branch in Kosaka opened on December 14, 2019. Although I often pass by here, I rarely visit, but this time I decided to stop by after a long time. I opted for the Morning Special Loin Cutlet Curry, and it turned out to be flavorful with a spicy yet light curry and a simple and tasty cutlet. The affordability of the meal is also a plus point. I would like to visit for lunch if I have the chance.

Visited in the early evening on a regular day. There were a few customers already there. No waiting time. There was a menu at the entrance, so I decided on the "Rosukatsu Teishoku" for 590 yen. At this Matsunoya, you can get free refills of rice and miso soup, and you can choose the size of the rice when purchasing the meal ticket. I chose the "large" size without hesitation. I poured myself some brown rice tea, sat down, and waited to be called by my number. After about 15 minutes, my number was called. The "large" rice portion was quite generous. I poured mustard and special sauce over the tonkatsu, and the salad came with a "carrot dressing." It was delicious in a simple way. For 590 yen, it's really affordable. I had already chosen the large rice portion, so I didn't ask for a refill, but I did feel like having just one more bite. If you want a refill, you have to ask one of the staff members at the counter, even though this Matsunoya is self-service style. They also have a spacious parking lot, making it very convenient.

Today, I decided to go for the 500 yen pork cutlet. It's too much trouble to think about what to eat, so I went with the pork cutlet. Pork cutlet is always delicious. Thank you for the meal. PayPay accepted.

Today, I had the pork cutlet set meal for 500 yen at Matsunoya thanks to the PayPay campaign. It's a good deal, so I couldn't pass it up. However, eating tonkatsu two days in a row is tough. I guess I'm getting old. Thank you for the meal. PayPay is a win!

The shredded pork cutlet set meal with a mountain of grated daikon radish for only 500 yen is incredibly cheap! There are plenty of delicious tonkatsu dishes elsewhere, but you can't find tonkatsu of this quality at this price anywhere else. I truly admire the company's efforts. Thank you as always! It was a delicious meal! PayPay accepted.

I was running late at work and decided to eat out for dinner again. I was driving around looking for a different restaurant when I saw a sign that said "Tonkatsu, Kaki Fry"! I parked my car and sat down, but no waiter came over. I realized that I needed to buy a meal ticket like the other customers were doing. It took me a while to figure out how to use the ticket machine, but I finally got it. I ordered a set meal with pork cutlet and kaki fry. After waiting for about 15 minutes, my order was ready. The pork cutlet was crispy and hot, and the meat was tender. The kaki fry was a bit on the larger side and had a good amount of breading. It was worth the wait to have freshly made fried food.

I had the fried chicken set meal at Matsunoya! The volume of just one piece of fried chicken is amazing. I feel like I could eat as much rice as I want with just one piece of fried chicken, and Matsunoya allows free refills which is really great. Matsunoya is famous for their tonkatsu (pork cutlet) too, with a crispy coating and juicy meat! And most importantly, the rice is really delicious!

A new menu has been added to the breakfast set meal for just one coin, allowing you to enjoy morning curry. It's called "Morning Special Chicken Cutlet and Egg Curry," and as the name suggests, it features chicken cutlet and scrambled egg on top of curry rice. The soft-boiled egg is included as a bonus. While enjoying the chicken cutlet and scrambled egg bowl, you can also eat the curry. Hmm... Wouldn't it be better with just the chicken cutlet? Why add the scrambled egg? That's my honest impression (laughs). It's a good deal to be able to enjoy two different flavors at a low price. "Thank you for the meal ☺︎"

I had breakfast at Matsunoya. This time, I had the sunny-side up egg and sausage set meal, with miso soup changed to tonjiru. For the side dish, I chose tofu from croquette, natto, and tofu. You can have unlimited rice refills for breakfast at Matsunoya, which was a luxurious experience. I had a very satisfying breakfast and started my day off on the right foot. Matsunoya's breakfast is addictive - I definitely want to go back again!

I knew that a new restaurant had opened, but my usual tonkatsu place near the university was closed, so I came here. This style of restaurant is becoming more common now, right? You buy a meal ticket, sit down, pick up your order, and then return your tray when you're done eating. It's a way to cut labor costs, so I wish they would lower the prices a bit more. The food is delicious though. Thank you.

<First Visit in February 2020>
As a memo... I was wondering what would become of the former Lawson store, and it turned out to be a tonkatsu chain. It's convenient to have a spacious parking lot. It operates on a self-service basis. Upon entering, you purchase a food ticket. The number on the ticket is displayed on a monitor screen, and you go to the pick-up counter to receive your order. There are 14 seats at the counter, tables for two, and three tables for four with partitions. The store opened on December 14th, so the interior is clean and neat. However, the smell of tonkatsu and fried food permeates the store, so it's essential to be prepared for it to stick to your clothes. I purchased the following:
- Thick-cut pork cutlet bowl (¥700)
When dining in the store, miso soup is included. The pork cutlet is indeed thick-cut, maintaining a nice crispy texture. It's not bad, but it's hard to say it's cheap, so the cost performance is decent. It might be appreciated during the lunch rush hours for those struggling to find a place to eat.

▽Tamago Donburi 290 yen▽ (Feb 2020)
This is a morning limited menu item. The main dish is a tamago donburi served with miso soup. The tamago donburi consists of simple ingredients like egg, green onions, and onions. The beaten egg has a slightly homey taste, not too fluffy. Overall, it has a simple taste and is quite ordinary.

Matsunoya is a tonkatsu chain restaurant under the brand name of Matsuya, a well-known gyudon chain in Japan. This branch in Osaka opened on December 14, 2019. I have visited Matsunoya occasionally in the past, but now that a branch has opened nearby, it is more convenient to visit. This time, I tried the cheapest option, the tamago donburi. It met my expectations for the price. Next time, I would like to try their tonkatsu and other fried dishes during lunch or dinner.

Matsuya used to have several stores along Fukae Bridge and Yotsubashi Line, but recently there has been an increase in self-service restaurants where you can refill your rice and miso soup. It seems that curry dishes do not come with miso soup and you cannot refill your rice for dishes like katsudon. However, you can refill miso soup at some places. Some restaurants like Daido Toyosato also allow you to refill your rice. Matsuya's gyudon in Momodani also allows for refills. When it comes to katsudon or oyakodon, many chain restaurants tend to overcook the eggs or not season the dishes well, but the katsudon here was cooked just right with a nice runny egg. The restaurant has around 40 seats, with 14 at the counter and 26 at tables. There were two male staff members managing the place, but since it is self-service, it seems to work out fine. With the self-service system, you purchase a food ticket which is linked to the kitchen. You can pour your own tea and when you take your seat, you will be called by your number. Other gyudon chain restaurants like Yoshinoya have also adopted a similar system.

▽Morning Special Loin Katsu Set 400 yen▽ (Dec 2019)
One of the morning menu items limited to the morning, consisting of a 70g loin katsu with rice and miso soup. The katsu is a bit small at 70g, but it is well fried, with a crispy and satisfying batter, and the pork inside has a simple yet good taste. The rice and miso soup also have an average taste, overall a decent tonkatsu experience.

Matsunoya (Matsunoya) is a tonkatsu chain restaurant under the brand name of Matsuya, a nationwide gyudon chain. This branch, located in Kosaka, is the 28th store in Osaka Prefecture, opened on December 14, 2019. I visited this branch for breakfast, opting for the Morning Special Loin Katsu Set. The 70g portion was just right for breakfast, and the fact that you can get unlimited rice and miso soup at this branch is very much appreciated. The convenient location near Osaka University will make it easy for me to visit again in the future.
