A few minutes' walk from Temmabashi Station, a bit off the main street lined with many dining options, I visited this place using the "Choi Nomitcho" guidebook. I tried the following items from the guidebook's menu: draft beer (other options available), low-temperature roasted chicken thigh, and today's carpaccio, which consisted of amberjack and bonito. The carpaccio had a slightly bloody texture but was nicely prepared and tasty. The chicken thigh was moist and went well with the sesame dressing. It paired better with the beer. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. I forgot to check out the other menu items this time, so I plan to come back and try them out.

I went to a place with a fancy exterior, not Skytree but Yokomachi, and had the Queen's omelette rice. It cost 1000 yen and there were festival flags hanging around, not sure why, maybe related to the floats? Anyway, I found out the master's address is Yokomachi. The omelette rice had a nice, runny egg and the tomato sauce was not too sour, with a good hint of sweetness. It was pretty good. This time, I used a coupon to come and have lunch. With the name "Queen's Lunch," I had high expectations. I was excited to see what kind of fluffy omelette rice would be served. However, when the omelette rice was brought to me, I was a little disappointed. It was supposed to be fluffy omelette rice, but it felt like they relied heavily on oil to create the fluffiness. The sauce had a thick layer of oil floating on top, which made it a bit unappetizing. I took a bite. Hmm, what is it? Maybe I just prefer strong flavors, but it lacked a punch. The tomato sauce itself wasn't heavily seasoned with consomme or anything. It had a hint of pepper, trying to add some flavor. The ketchup rice inside wasn't very flavorful either, more bland than light. Overall, it was bland, not to my taste. On top of that, the overwhelming oiliness made it too heavy. I preferred the omelette rice at 3 Building's Nagaya, personally. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I thought there was too much oil floating on top. So, I'm sorry, but I have to give it a slightly lower rating.

It was a bit dark on the street at night, so we were looking around wondering where it was. We said we would turn back if we couldn't find it on this street, but then we saw the neon sign and the signboard, so we found it quickly. There were available table seats, so we sat there. It was my first time at this place, and since sitting at the counter seemed a bit intimidating, I was glad there were table seats available. We could chat comfortably and relax. Before coming here, we had already eaten, so we planned to just use the cafe, but the place had more of a bar vibe. So, we ordered beer and a plate of prosciutto and cheese. The cheese was delicious and had a good cost performance. Then, we ordered coffee and homemade pancakes. We had to wait quite a bit, but the coffee and pancakes were delicious! The pancakes were homemade and tasted great. The whipped cream was not too sweet and light, which was delicious. Since the food seems promising, I'm looking forward to trying out their dishes next time at the bar.

The coffee is only 200 yen, which is surprisingly cheap, so I ended up drinking three cups (my friend had two cups, and another friend had three chuhais). The owner, who runs the place by himself, has a friendly and cozy atmosphere, and when I jokingly asked if he should raise the prices, he just laughed it off. The cat-shaped marshmallow in the coffee in the photo was a gift from my friend and not included in the drink. It's so cute! I love Temma. Next time, I'll have drinks, food, and sweets there. I had a small year-end gathering with three friends in Temma, starting at Fujiya and then craving for something sweet, so we ended up at YOKOMACHI. The lively atmosphere of Temma fades away as you walk to this little spot. They serve delicious fluffy pancakes, and even though it's operated by just one person (not sure if there are others on different days), the service might be a bit slow. But it's okay because we enjoyed funny conversations over drinks while waiting. The pancakes are only 500 yen, and drinks are 250 yen. It's unbelievably cheap! It's a different story from the daytime. We were shocked by the prices and joked about it. It's great that we can have sweets until late at night. This is a shop I casually dropped by alone after work. It's about a 5-minute walk from JR Temma Station. It's a bit on the outskirts of the bustling area, so the surrounding area is quiet. It was still early, so there was only one group of customers, but the master welcomed me warmly, making it easy for a solo male like me to enter. The food had a taste that reminded me of home cooking and was delicious. It might be just right for people living alone to stop by for dinner. The interior is not that spacious (about 15 seats?), so it might be difficult to use it for a large group, but I would like to use it with friends next time.
