Lunch is mainly beef bowl, dinner is mainly boiled dumplings at an izakaya. When I arrived around 11:20, there were about 10 people waiting in line, so I waited for about 20 minutes. The beef bowl (with double beef and less rice for 950 yen) had large slices of beef with a slightly raw part on top of the rice. The meat was tender and flavorful with a sweet and savory sauce. It was delicious and I would definitely want to come back for more. Just be careful when eating as the slices are large and you don't want to choke. There is another place near Hakata Station that serves a similar beef bowl, but honestly, I preferred the one at Ikapon! However, I tried a bit of my friend's Ikachanpon, and I felt that it was too salty for my taste. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is calm with a Japanese-style decor in shades of light brown. The customers were of all ages and it seems to be loved by a wide range of people! Check out my Instagram momono._.o for more Fukuoka gourmet recommendations!

I had lunch there for the first time in about 2 years. I arrived around 12:40 and there were about 5 groups waiting in line. The turnover was fast, so I was able to enter in about 15 minutes. It seemed like I could enter without waiting around 1:30. I tried Champon for the first time, and I think the thin noodles make it surprisingly easy to eat. The salt and pepper were a bit strong. The Gyudon was truly "Sukiyaki Gyudon"! It was reliably delicious. Gyudon (with egg) (double beef) ¥1,500, Ike Champon (with 2 gyoza) ¥850.

Specializing in boiled dumplings. Good taste, good value! The water dumplings, cooked in a clay pot with chicken broth, are delicious. They come out piping hot. It's amazing! You can choose between champon noodles or ojiya as your last dish. I went with the medium champon for one visit, and ojiya for another.

Before noon on Monday. There were already about 10 people lined up. But it was lunchtime, so the turnover was good, and we were seated in about 20 minutes. I ordered the Gyudon with double beef for 1500 yen. Wakame soup and kimchi were served first, and the Gyudon arrived quickly. Although it is called Gyudon, the beef is prepared in a sukiyaki style, half-raw and seasoned with sweet and savory soy sauce. When you add a raw egg, it becomes like sukiyaki itself. The beef is tender with a good amount of pinkness, but it still has some chewiness and lacks fat, making it a bit difficult to bite through. The soup and other sides were average. The presentation was impressive, but not exceptional. However, next time I want to try the Liver and Leek set meal that was quietly listed on the menu.

This is a clean and stylish underground glass-walled restaurant within walking distance from Hakata Station. It seems to be non-smoking, unlike the information on Tabelog. I came here to enjoy something called "sui-gyoza." First, I enjoyed some beer and appetizers, then had the sui-gyoza, and finished with champon or zosui. The appetizers were delicious: Wasabi potato salad for 440 yen, edamame pickles for 440 yen, and black pork cartilage stir-fry for 550 yen. The third dish was surprisingly good and went well with beer. I wanted to order another plate. The sui-gyoza was 770 yen and seemed to be made with chicken bones and tonkotsu broth. It was a unique way to enjoy gyoza. The champon for 330 yen was also tasty. They seem to serve gyudon for lunch, so I would like to come back if I have the chance.

This is by far the most delicious gyudon I have ever eaten. The sweet and savory seasoned meat, cooked sukiyaki-style, is served generously on top. I mixed it with the egg and it was amazing. For 1000 yen, the cost performance is unbeatable. It's a popular restaurant, so I waited in line for about 30 minutes before it opened. I definitely want to visit again.

I had a reservation at another restaurant in 3 hours, but I couldn't resist checking out this place. When I arrived, there was a long line of about 20 people. It took a while to move, but luckily the restaurant opened at 11:30. Finally, after waiting for 30 minutes, I got inside. The restaurant had spacious table seating for 4 people each. I had ordered a beef bowl with less rice in anticipation of my next meal, but when it arrived, it was a regular portion and not small at all! The taste was amazing, with tender and rare meat cooked in a sweet sauce. It was more like a sukiyaki bowl than a beef bowl. I enjoyed it thoroughly and also finished my sushi meal later without any regrets. Highly recommended for a meal near Hakata Station!

About a 3-minute walk from Hakata Station Chikushi Exit. This is a restaurant known for its Hakata-style boiled dumplings, which may leave you wondering what that is. During the day, they only serve beef bowl. You can choose the amount of meat from 1x to 2x. I ordered with 1x meat and less rice, which they discounted by 50 yen, making it 950 yen, cash only. What they served was completely different from the chains. The beef slices were large, tender, and easily cut with chopsticks. The lightly seasoned beef was incredibly delicious even without wasabi or raw egg. I enjoyed trying it with a little wasabi, pouring the yolk, eating with the kimchi side dish, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The part-time staff members were efficient and provided excellent service. They seat solo diners at 4-person tables, so there's no sharing, which means there might be a line, but I definitely want to go back.

I visited the popular restaurant Ikepon, known for its "Taki Gyoza." Located in the basement of a building, I made a reservation but still ended up at the counter. I ordered the Taki Gyoza, which came in a hot pot with boiling soup and plenty of leeks. The soup seemed to be made from chicken broth and paired perfectly with beer. I devoured it in no time. I also tried the chicken wings and fried chicken, all of which were delicious. It seems like they also serve beef bowl during the day, which I might have to try next time. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

The restaurant I was taken to when I went to Hakata. Everything was of high quality as shown in the photos and it was amazing. Especially the meat tofu, it looked so good and was really delicious.. From Mizutaki dumplings to sesame mackerel, I was able to eat almost everything I wanted and was very satisfied!

To avoid the lunchtime rush, I visited around 13:15 and was the 9th person in line outside. While waiting, a staff member came to take my order. I opted for the double meat gyudon with less rice for ¥1450, skipping the champon as I wasn't sure about the portion size. After about 20 minutes, I was seated inside. Despite being alone, I was seated at a table for four. Shortly after, my gyudon arrived. The medium rare meat was just right for me. The sauce with wasabi was a great match. The double meat portion was very satisfying and delicious. I was glad I ordered less rice and didn't rush to order champon. This meal was definitely worth coming for!

Arrived at 11:30 on Saturday and there were already nearly 10 groups waiting in line. The restaurant doesn't have many seats, but turnover is fast and we were seated in about 30 minutes. The seats are spacious and comfortable. The meat is tender and very delicious. Even though I ordered a small portion of rice, it was quite filling.

[Shop Memo] - Arrived on a weekday at 11:05 (25 minutes before opening) and there were 23 people in line? They started letting people into the shop in order at 11:07! Very kind ✨ - At 11:14, the first round of tables was full. I am fifth in line for the second round. - This place was featured on a Fukuoka gourmet TV show (nationwide broadcast). [What I Ordered] - Regular size beef bowl for 1000 yen. 1.5 times size is 1250 yen, and 2 times size is 1500 yen, but since there were other things I wanted to try, I settled for the regular size (with less rice, 50 yen off). - I lined up on a weekday at 11:05 and got my bowl at 11:30. I resisted the urge to dig in quickly, took some photos, and then finally started eating! The beef was tender and slightly sweet, with a touch of wasabi adding a nice kick, elevating it to a top-notch Japanese dish. It was so delicious that I didn't even want to add the egg at first, but I decided to try it anyway. The egg was sweet and added a nice chewy texture. Adding yuzu kosho as well, it was absolutely delightful! The cheers of "delicious!" drowned out the jazz playing in the background. - When I left the shop at 11:48, there were already 28 people in line. If there's always a line like this, I wish they would put up a sign saying "Please wait until your party is complete before lining up." Anyway, I highly recommend this place. It's a hidden gem that I wouldn't have found if it wasn't nearby! (To regulars and those who spread the word causing longer lines, I apologize)

This shop is located in the basement of a building about 5 minutes from Chikushiguchi. The lunch gyudon and champon were delicious. They don't have a menu for dinner. When I went, I lined up around 11:15 and waited about 10 minutes to get in.

I had been interested in trying the "chicken dumplings" dish for a while, but the restaurant became known for its beef bowl lunch special. Despite the long lines on weekdays, I finally mustered up the courage to try it. The results were: 1) the flavor was similar to sukiyaki bowl, 2) the hot bowls for the champon were noteworthy, 3) I was satisfied to have finally tried it as I had wanted to do so before, and 4) I am now curious about trying the liver and leek set meal.

I visited again, and even though it's called gyudon, it's more like a sukiyaki bowl, right? The sweet and savory sauce coats the meat nicely, a flavor that everyone loves. The beef is tender and seems to be of good quality. This time, it also came with a half champon set, but the portion size is definitely not "half." It's a huge portion. It actually made me curious about the full-size champon (laughs).

I got excited for my first time trying the Ikepon Gyudon! I arrived a little after 11:30 and waited for about an hour. I ordered the beef 1.5 times, but it was a bit too much for me, so next time I'll order the beef 1 time with less rice. The meat was moist and tender, easy to eat. The sauce that mixed with the rice and meat was delicious! Towards the end, I ate it like sukiyaki style. Changing the flavor made me want to eat more, and I finished it all.

The staff were energetic, clean, and efficient at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and I can see why it's so popular. When I went around 12:15 on a Wednesday, I waited for almost an hour. It's definitely worth the wait, but be prepared to line up if you go.

JR Hakata Station (Chikushiguchi) is a 2-minute walk away. Ikeponkoko is a shop known for its boiled dumplings, located 242m from Hakata Station. The lunch menu is very popular for its sukiyaki-style beef bowl. Even on a weekday, there was a line. For the beef bowl, you can choose between regular, 1.5 times, or double the amount of beef. I also wanted to try the champon, so I ordered the half champon set with 1.5 times the beef. The beef bowl still had quite a bit of redness when it was served. It's a sweet beef bowl, and with the addition of an egg, it tastes like a sukiyaki bowl. Considering the amount of meat, it's good value for money. The meat is tender, but there's nothing particularly special about it. The champon is delicious and piping hot. However, the set is just too much food to finish. I felt that when ordering a set, it's better to go for less rice with the regular amount.

I arrived at the restaurant at 12:15 on a regular day. Of course, it was fully packed, and I was the 13th person in line. Everyone was waiting in line to eat, so when the food arrived, they ate quickly and left, so I had to wait for about 30 minutes before entering. It seemed like the portion size was generally 1x for women, 1.5x or 2x for men, based on the atmosphere of people ordering and eating inside. The photo shows a 2x portion with less rice. It had three large slices of meat that tasted like they had been quickly dipped in sukiyaki sauce. The meat was so tender and flavorful that it filled my mouth with happiness. Around March 1st, they started to serve a lot of meat, so I added a raw egg. Eating it as a TKG (Tamago Kake Gohan) made it even more delicious. I would love to eat here again, even if I have to wait in line.

I watched on YouTube and decided to visit this restaurant. I arrived at 11:10 and there were about 4 people already there. There were chairs to sit and wait. The menu was brought to me quickly and I placed my order while waiting. I was able to go inside before 11:30. I ordered a beef bowl 1.5 times the normal size and a half-sized champon set. The champon set was recommended for sharing between two people. My companion had the regular-sized beef bowl. The appearance of the food was not very appealing. The taste of the beef bowl was somewhat underwhelming. I'm sorry, but it was not delicious. I couldn't quite figure out the taste of the beef. My companion enjoyed their meal though. The champon was just delicious. Thank you for the meal.
