Visited Dazaifu and tried the famous umenomi hijiki. I chose Etoya out of several shops that serve it. This is the shop where Foot Gotou convinced Sasshi to buy umenomi hijiki instead of the shop she originally planned to visit during the filming of "HKT48 no Odekake." There were no signatures at that time. The umenomi hijiki costs 702 yen including tax. I also got the version for passing an exam. When I got home, I immediately had it with rice. The soft hijiki combined with the crispy texture of the umeboshi was delicious. The right amount of salt made it hard to stop eating with the rice! It goes well with warm rice, and it might be tasty even when cold as onigiri.

In 2017, I had some Menbei with canned beer as a snack and my sister-in-law, who lives next door, gave me "Ume no Mi Hijiki" as a Father's Day present from "Tamori Club." The crispy texture of the small plums and the softness of the hijiki seaweed were excellent. It's delicious on its own or on top of rice. It says it's a furikake, so I ate it on rice, and it was seriously delicious! It's endorsed by the legendary food connoisseur, Tamori, so you know it's good!

After taking a break with some coffee, I came to Dazaifu to look for souvenirs. I remembered a local commercial I had seen a few times, "Dazaifu~♪ Etoya's~ Ume no Mi Hijiki~♪" but I had never tried it before. The shop was a small house set back a bit from the bustling approach. Their specialty, "Ume no Mi Hijiki," is a side dish for rice. It's even trademarked, and I found out it has many fans nationwide who enjoy ordering it. Now they have expanded their lineup to include Yamasanshojako Hijiki, Shiosaig Hijiki, Satsuma no Katsuo Hijiki, Ume no Mi Wakame, and Karashi Takana Hijiki, all available for tasting in the store. In addition to these, they have mentaiko, original dashi, soup, tea, and other products to accompany rice. However, the best-selling item is still the main dish, "Ume no Mi Hijiki." For dinner, I immediately poured a generous amount over white rice... (it's also good mixed in with the rice). The carefully selected thick-cut hijiki, crunchy ume no mi, and sesame seeds, all finished with a unique method, have a refreshing flavor. Rich in minerals, with a chewy texture from the thick-cut hijiki and a crispy bite from the ume no mi, the balance is excellent. The acidity from the plum is not overpowering, making it suitable even for children to eat! The wrapping paper is also made of chiyogami, which makes it a perfect little souvenir.

Here is the souvenir from the other day. It was from the Kyushu Products Fair at Hankyu Department Store in Osaka Umeda. I received it from a friend a while ago and have been a big fan ever since. I tried it last night and here is my impression. The thick and chewy texture of the shiso-flavored hiziki, along with the crispy texture of the plum... It's exactly as written in the note from Daizaifu Etoya. It's a souvenir that makes you worry because you can't stop eating it with hot rice. Daizaifu Etoya Juunido, 2-6-31 Gojo, Dazaifu City, Fukuoka, Phone: 092-924-0382.

★This is the "Ume no Mi Hijiki" that he praised on Tamori Club. It's a kind of furikake that combines small plums with slightly salty hijiki in a very good balance. It's not dried and juicy, so it's not really a furikake! You don't have to go all the way to Dazaifu or go through the hassle of ordering it, as my industry insider sister-in-law delivers it for me, which is very helpful (laughs). The dinner that day turned out to be lighter than expected, so I didn't hesitate to sprinkle it on. It was incredibly delicious, as expected. I may be a fake chef, but I trust Tamori's taste the most. This is really delicious and highly recommended!♪(´ε` )

I purchased this product at a local department store food exhibition in Kanagawa Prefecture and have loved it ever since. Finally, I was able to purchase it at the original store. It has crispy plum inside, which gives a refreshing taste. After purchasing it, I also found seven herb rice porridge, but at home, we enjoyed adding this plum seaweed to the porridge. Ah, now I feel like eating porridge again. It's also delicious to sprinkle it on top of hot rice. Looking at the package, I noticed that the address is different. So, there must be a main store somewhere else. Ah, now I feel like eating it again!

I received a souvenir from an acquaintance in Fukuoka. I'm always happy to receive snacks as souvenirs, but it's nice to get side dishes that go well with rice. I had never heard of umeboshi hijiki before, but it seems to be famous in Kyushu. I accidentally threw away the wrapping paper without thinking. I forgot to take a picture... When I opened it, there was a nice scent of umeboshi. I quickly put it on top of freshly cooked rice. It definitely looks like it goes well with rice (I'm sorry, I forgot to take a picture of this too). The thick hijiki is well seasoned and very delicious! Also, the crispy umeboshi enhances the flavor. The umeboshi is not too sour, so even those who are not big fans of umeboshi can enjoy it. The overall saltiness is just right. I can't stop eating the rice. I also tried making onigiri with it, and it was delicious even when cold. I'm looking forward to lunchtime. The ochazuke with hijiki broth was also delicious. I heard that Etoya also has karashi takana and hijiki available. I will definitely request this for my next souvenir. Thank you for the meal!

We traveled to Nagasaki and Fukuoka with our family. We were wondering what would be a good souvenir from Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, so my wife sent a text message to a friend in Fukuoka asking for recommendations. The response we got was that "Etoya's Ume no Mi Hijiki" and "Karashi Takana Hijiki" were recommended. We were a bit confused as we had never heard of them before. Are they famous? Where can we find them? Fivejo in Dazaifu? We would have to make a stop there. But wait, they might be available at the station's store, right? Let's go check it out. At the Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station store, we found "Dazaifu Gojo Juunido Etoya" with the "Ume no Mi Hijiki" on display. It turns out that it was ranked number one on TBS's "Kuraberu Kuraberar" show. It seems to be quite famous nationwide. We saw the "Ume no Mi Hijiki" lined up, but unfortunately, they didn't have the "Karashi Takana Hijiki." My wife asked the store clerk, who informed us that it could be found at a nearby Etoya store. Really? Let's go check it out then. We followed the store clerk's directions and found the Etoya store, which was located near the approach to Tenmangu Shrine. It's actually "Kaisanbutsu" not "Kaisanbutsu." The company is called Juunido Co., Ltd., and the store name "Etoya" is a registered trademark. The store was quite small but had a variety of items for sale. The wall displayed "Karashi Takana Hijiki," "Hakata Hijiki," and "Ume no Mi Wakame." They also had "Ume no Mi Hijiki," "Katsuo Hijiki," and "Hakata Hijiki," each with different packaging. The "Ume no Mi Hijiki" is a registered trademark. We were able to sample small rice balls mixed with "Ume no Mi Hijiki," and they were delicious. We ended up purchasing the "Ume no Mi Hijiki" and "Karashi Takana Hijiki" as recommended. The main store is located in front of Nishitetsu Gojo Station. The flagship product "Ume no Mi Hijiki" comes in a 150g package with beautiful red packaging. The thick hijiki contains red ume fruit and white sesame. It has a mild saltiness, a moist texture, and a crunchy bite. It's like a savory topping, not too salty, and goes well with rice. My kids loved it. The "Karashi Takana Hijiki" comes in a navy blue package. It contains thick hijiki, green takana, white sesame, and a hint of red chili pepper. The takana is sourced from Kumamoto Aso. It's a slightly spicy topping. We are glad we were informed about these products. You can also order them from their website. http://www.1210-etoya.com/ Thank you for the delicious experience.

After visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, I stopped by this restaurant. It caught my attention on TV a while back, so I decided to give it a try. They had various types of hijiki such as Hakata hijiki, umeboshi hijiki, and karashi takana hijiki, but I chose the bonito hijiki priced at 630 yen for 150g. It seemed to be a collaboration between a long-established bonito store in Kagoshima and a local store in Dazaifu, created to commemorate the full opening of the Kyushu Shinkansen last year. At the register, I noticed they were offering small rice ball samples with each hijiki product, so I tried the umeboshi hijiki. The sourness of the umeboshi paired really well with the hijiki, and it was delicious. When I got home, I tried the bonito hijiki on top of rice, and it was also very tasty. I slightly regretted not buying the umeboshi hijiki as well, but overall, I felt the prices were a bit on the higher side. They also had products made with wakame, not just hijiki. While the famous souvenir from Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is the umegaemochi, I highly recommend trying this restaurant's offerings as well. It can be mixed with rice or added to pasta, and it's really good.

I bought "Ume no Mi Hijiki" at the Kyushu product exhibition at Machida Odakyu Department Store. It cost 630 yen per pack and has a shelf life of about one month. When sprinkled evenly on rice and made into onigiri, it is very delicious. In our house, one pack made about 20 palm-sized onigiri. The crunchy texture of the hijiki and the sourness of the plum blend well together. My husband and I enjoyed it so much that it disappeared quickly, so I went back to the exhibition to buy more. I am so addicted to it that I am considering ordering it online when we run out of "Ume no Mi Hijiki" next time.

If you're looking for products that go well with rice, "Juni-do Etoya" is highly recommended. "Etoya's Wakame Seaweed" is rich in minerals and goes well with hot rice. "Etoya's Spicy Takana Hijiki" uses thick hijiki from Kumamoto Aso with a spicy kick, making it the perfect accompaniment to rice. "Etoya's Hakata Hijiki" has a subtle shiso aroma within its spiciness that is irresistible! For those who love ochazuke, the "Ume Plum Tea Pickles" are recommended. They are perfect for those who love pickled plums! And above all, the "Ume Plum Hijiki" is fantastic! It has plenty of crispy plum pieces like the "Ume Yukari" onigiri from convenience stores, and the chewy texture of hijiki matches perfectly. It can be enjoyed as a rice accompaniment, sprinkled over tofu or natto, added to tamagoyaki, or even sprinkled over spaghetti or salad! Please try it once!

"The 'Ume no Mi Hijiki' dish is very delicious. There is a store in Dazaifu, Fukuoka prefecture. The unique dish here is the 'Shoga Hijiki', which combines the flavor of ginger, known for its medicinal properties, with the chewy texture of hijiki seaweed. It is a versatile furikake seasoning."

The crispy texture and sourness of the plum goes well with the hijiki, making it a good snack with alcohol. It also goes well with warm rice and is delicious as ochazuke.

Project H - A self-satisfying world (Only those who understand will understand) (^ ^ During a certain idol group's TV show, when they were walking around Dazaifu, they were shopping and bought "Ume no Mi Hijiki" as a side dish for rice. They forgot to buy it at Hakata Station and were feeling a little down when they returned home. They had mistakenly bought a similar product called "Ume no Ka Hijiki" before, but that was also delicious. They found this Ume-flavored crispy hijiki at a certain department store's Kyushu Fair and bought it without hesitation. It goes well with rice. It seems like it would also be good with ochazuke. A junior colleague asked, "Is this a 3-month supply?" but it won't last for more than 2 weeks. If they find it again, they will buy it.

I received a gift from a friend from Fukuoka when they came to Sapporo. It's always fun to receive souvenirs from different places. They gave me Ume no Mi Hijiki from Dazaifu Etoya. It's said that eating hijiki and kombu can make your hair thicker, but scientifically, there is no basis for this. Maybe believing in it can bring some comfort? Haha. This Ume no Mi Hijiki was great as a side dish with rice. It had crispy crushed Ume no Mi mixed with hijiki, giving it a slightly sour taste. It's really delicious when eaten with hot rice. It's also a good snack to have with drinks. It disappeared from the fridge right after I tried it, so I think my family enjoyed it too. I would love to have this as a souvenir every time! Thank you for the meal!

I purchased the "Bonito Seaweed" at the Daikyushu Exhibition held at the Yamato Toyama store. The kind salesperson let me try various samples such as "Ume no Mi Hijiki," "Katsuobushi Hijiki," and "Karashi Takana Hijiki," and I decided to buy the "Bonito Seaweed." It has a rich bonito flavor and definitely goes well with white rice. Although I'm not a big fan of plums, I also enjoyed the Ume no Mi Hijiki that I tried. But personally, I preferred the bonito flavor (haha). I highly recommend this product and I will definitely buy it again at the next Daikyushu Exhibition!

I purchased "Etoya Ume no Mi Hijiki" at the All Japan Delicious Food Market held at Aeon Mall Asahikawa Station store. I had received it as a gift from an acquaintance before and remembered how delicious it was, so I couldn't resist buying it. It was indeed delicious with amazing flavors, umami, and texture that make you keep eating rice. I wish they would commercialize the onigiri made with this. Definitely give it a try.
