Whenever I go to Hakata, I always feel like eating here and have visited multiple times. It is located on the B1 floor of KITTE Hakata, and when it gets crowded, a line forms next to the escalator a little further away. The restaurant has both counter and table seating, but it is a bit narrow. When you sit down, cabbage is served, and you can order your drinks and the number of chicken skin skewers you want. The chicken skin comes with sauce, and you can order both types and customize it to your liking with condiments. Just seeing the mountain of chicken skin skewers on the counter is exciting (laughs).

They offer two types of chicken skin: salt and sauce. Some places categorize them as white and black as well. There is a debate between salt and sauce for chicken skin, but personally, I prefer salt by a small margin. Guruguru Chicken Skin is known for its crispy texture, so I recommend sticking to the simple salt flavor. The chicken skin, grilled carefully over charcoal, is crispy on the outside and juicy with umami on the inside. The seasoning is just right, making it an excellent dish. In Fukuoka, there is a familiar grilled chicken skin skewer dish called "Neji Neji." While it may not be the original, many restaurants offer it. Each place may have slight differences, but this one is a classic in my opinion. I went with the sauce for flavor this time. A serving of ten skewers is light and tasty. However, this restaurant also excels in other grilled dishes like pork belly and chicken thighs. The seasoning is just right, with a perfect balance of saltiness, sweetness, and umami. I think these dishes are even better than the chicken skin skewers. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, so it's not a place for lingering, but I found myself staying longer than planned. I was full after eating sukiyaki, but I wanted to drink a little more, so I came to this yakitori restaurant. I ordered the skin as a snack and it was so delicious that I ended up ordering more. Personally, I recommend salt over sauce, it goes well with beer and you can keep ordering it endlessly. The person sitting next to me was a bit loud, but well, it's a yakitori restaurant. I visited the restaurant on a Sunday in August during the Obon festival around 5 pm. The place was packed, and I had to wait in line for about 10 minutes before entering. It is located in the underground food court of KITTE. I ordered a Highball, Lemon Sour, chicken skin with sauce, chicken skin with salt, pork belly, and beef skirt. The Highball was a bit strong in flavor (although I didn't ask for it to be stronger). The food was served in 5-6 minutes, starting with the chicken skin with sauce and salt. The chicken skin was thinner and shorter than I expected. I personally preferred the salt over the sauce, as the salt brought out a nice crispy texture. The pork belly had a crispy surface and a low-fat meat texture. The beef skirt had a firmer meat texture compared to chicken and pork. The flavors were not particularly memorable, but overall it was decent.

The skin was delicious with a salty flavor. I felt that the salt made the surface crispier than the sauce. It was almost full as soon as it opened, maybe because it was a holiday. It seems to be a popular place. The atmosphere of the shop where you can easily stop by even if you don't have much time was also nice. It's a plus that the soup at the end is free. I would like to visit again at a more leisurely pace next time!

On the first day of my Fukuoka trip, I went straight from the airport to visit around 3:00 PM. It was snack time, and even though the restaurant was full, I waited for about 10 minutes under the escalator. There were many foreign tourists, and there were menus in different languages. The Asian person next to me seemed to like the cabbage dressing they bought. There were also a few solo diners, and you could easily grab a quick drink at lunch. The access and cost performance were excellent.

From there, we headed straight to the underground floor of KITTE, and thankfully, the Torikawa Minister wasn't too crowded for a weekday lunch. - As soon as we entered, we ordered 5 skewers each of the Torikawa we had been wanting to try for a long time, one with sauce and one with salt. While waiting, we poured plenty of special sauce on the cabbage appetizer and enjoyed a draft beer. - The Torikawa arrived shortly after, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I think I prefer the salt flavor. I added a few more skewers and switched to bottled beer, savoring the happiness of eating. - The deliciousness of the chicken skin skewers from that famous restaurant in other prefectures doesn't even compare. It was a day of unprecedented heavy rain. However, since I had come all the way to Hakata, I was determined to eat what I had been wanting to try. So I visited this place. It is located in the basement of a building in the station, so I didn't get wet even though it was raining. You can order just one skewer, so it's very easygoing. I wanted to visit a few places, so I only ordered chicken skin and beer here. The taste was as expected, nothing particularly special. It was just delicious. I would be happy if there was a similar izakaya nearby. Thank you for the meal!

I used it for the second time. Minister, who is well known. We had a delicious and enjoyable time once again! It was Sunday afternoon, but everyone seemed to be having a good time! Sunday afternoon drinking is the best! Recommended items are chicken skin, of course, but also bonjiri, thick fried tofu, darm, and yam!

We ordered items such as grilled chicken skin with sauce, chicken meat, pork belly, and gizzard as snacks with our drinks. The grilled chicken skin, a specialty of Hakata, is made by wrapping chicken skin around a skewer, marinating it in sauce for a few days, and then grilling it before serving. I arrived in Hakata after a long time and stayed at a hotel near Hakata Station. For dinner, I decided to visit the popular restaurant, Hakata Torikawa Daijin's KITTE Hakata store. I arrived around 16:45 and the restaurant was bustling. Luckily, I was seated at the counter without having to wait. Today, I ordered: - Hakata Torikawa (Tare) x2 (¥139 each) - Hakata Torikawa (Salt) x2 (¥139 each) - Pork belly (¥129) - Chicken meat (¥129) - Intestine (¥129) - Tail meat (¥129) - Garlic (¥129) - Special finishing soup (free) - Suntory The Malt's beer bottle (¥550) You order by telling the floor staff. The staff were all friendly. I started with the bottled beer, which was delicious. No need for explanation. I think bottled beer is best for drinking alone. The famous Hakata Torikawa, both Tare and Salt, were delicious. The carefully rolled chicken skin is a favorite of mine. The pork belly, seasoned with salt, was also tasty. These three are my personal top three. Then, the chicken meat, intestine, tail meat, and garlic arrived one after another. They were all delicious, but the garlic had three cloves with skin. Peeling it yourself and eating it seemed to enhance the flavor. It was soft and delicious. By the way, "intestine" refers to pig intestines, and this name seems to have originated in Kurume. It makes sense that I, originally from Fukuoka, wouldn't know about it. Lastly, the special finishing soup was excellent with a gentle dashi flavor. It was very comforting. I enjoyed all of this for just over two thousand yen. It was satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

Business trip to Fukuoka. Arrived late at night, so decided to have a light dinner and drinks near the station. Found a restaurant called "Guruguru Chicken Skin" inside KITTE. I had only been to Kawaya before, so decided to try this place for a change. The fact that it's located inside KITTE made me think it must be a popular spot. I was surprised to see that they offer both sauce and salt flavors for the guruguru chicken skin. I had only tried the sauce at Kawaya, so I was intrigued by the salt flavor. I ordered 3 pieces of each flavor. First, I tried the sauce flavor. It was delicious with a rich flavor and great texture, comparable to Kawaya. However, I still prefer the sauce flavor, as it has a deeper taste. Next, I tried the salt flavor. While it was good, I found myself preferring the sauce flavor. The guruguru chicken skin is marinated and grilled multiple times to achieve this deliciousness, so the sauce flavor has more depth. But having a mix of both flavors is also a good idea. I ended up ordering more of the sauce flavor (laughs). I also ordered bonjiri and pork belly skewers. People in Fukuoka always order pork belly at yakitori restaurants, and after trying it, I understood why. The pork belly was delicious with its rich fat. Lastly, I ordered the homemade thick tofu. It had a strong tofu flavor, which I liked. Eating it with a touch of soy sauce was tasty. Finished off with a flavorful chicken broth soup. Overall, it was a great restaurant experience!

A few years ago, one skewer of skewered chicken skin cost 80 yen. Now, due to inflation, it costs 138 yen per skewer. Everything except the skin costs around 120 yen. Despite its casual atmosphere, the taste is authentic and delicious! The salted skin is so amazing that I had seconds (^O^) It's cheap, tasty, and the best!

I went to Hakata Torikawa Daimin at Hakata Station. The waiting line was not right in front of me, but further back behind the escalator where you couldn't see the shop. I ordered: - Malt bottled beer (550 yen excluding tax) - Torikawa with sauce and salt (139 yen each excluding tax) - Chicken liver (129 yen excluding tax) - Chicken intestine (129 yen excluding tax) - Bonjiri (129 yen excluding tax) - Special finishing soup (free!) They accepted various payment methods, but I chose to pay in cash because the options were unclear. They started with the torikawa. The food didn't come out too quickly, probably because it was crowded. I wanted to try torikawa since I was in Fukuoka, and overall, I was satisfied. It was good, but not exceptionally delicious, considering the price.

I arrived at the restaurant around 6:00 pm on a regular evening. The place was filled with about 80-90% of customers. I ordered a bottled beer (Malt) for 605 yen, 3 skewers of Hakata chicken skin with sauce for 153 yen each, and 3 skewers of Hakata chicken skin with salt for 153 yen each. The total came to 1523 yen. After ordering, I enjoyed the chilled glass for the bottled beer. The salted chicken skin was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the sauced chicken skin was tender overall. Personally, I liked sprinkling some chili pepper on the salted chicken skin. Although it felt a bit pricey, the skewers were clearly made with care and effort. I appreciated the meal.

This is a bar located in the back of the basement floor where you can enjoy daytime drinking. They do not have a lunch menu. The menu remains the same from opening until evening. They offer the Fukuoka staple of cabbage for free, without an appetizer fee. I particularly enjoy the filling Amami chicken rice.

Fukuoka expedition. Although I wasn't hungry, I decided to try Torikawa since I came all the way here. I ordered both salt and sauce options. The salt was crispy, while the sauce was moist. Both were delicious with a savory flavor that would go well with alcohol. It was before 5 p.m., but the place was bustling with businessmen who seemed to be finishing work or business trips. The Torikawa dish came out quickly after ordering. There are other menu options available, but the Torikawa alone was satisfying. It seems like a great option for takeout to enjoy in the hotel as well. I would love to have it again.
