I was surprised to see a long line at the New York Perfect Cheese counter in the Keio food section before meeting up with a friend. I decided to check out the Bern's classic mille-feuille on sale and joined the short line. There was a limit of 20 pieces per person, and the popular sweet flavor sold out quickly. I purchased 12 pieces of milk and hazelnut flavors. It seemed like the line got longer after I finished my purchase, and I doubted if everyone would be able to buy due to the limited quantity. The mille-feuille sale will last until December 10th, but they tend to sell out in the morning. I think this classic mille-feuille is a better choice than the New York Perfect Cheese. The high-end Christmas cakes at Keio were already sold out, so buying one for yourself to enjoy as a special treat at the end of the year might be a good idea. You can eat it without cutting the whole cake and save the leftovers in the fridge for the next morning. Sounds like a plan!

I always find the Bern mille-feuille prepared for the New Year's greeting to be delicious as usual. The pastry is crispy and moist, and the chocolate coating is rich. The chocolate comes in three flavors: milk, hazelnut, and sweet, making it a taste that never gets boring.

This is a shop located in the basement of Keio Department Store. When you think of Beln, you think of their crispy mille-feuille! They also had cookies and jelly that looked delicious, but I was drawn to the mille-feuille (lol). In addition to the regular mille-feuille, they also had a summer version. I bought a summer set of mille-feuille with orange, coconut, and pineapple flavors for home. Even though it was hot outside, I chilled it in the fridge before eating it, so the mille-feuille was still crispy, with a sweet and sour citrus flavor, and the sweetness of coconut. It was delicious (o^^o). It's a mille-feuille that is recommended as a stay-at-home treat or a small gift.

When going out, I tend to justify spending money by indulging in take-out sweets more often. I need to help stimulate the economy, so it's fine. I love the mille-feuille from Bern. It's cost-effective and makes a great gift for introducing yourself after a job transfer. They had a summer limited edition flavor, so I couldn't resist buying it. The refreshing taste was just what I needed in the heat. Cold chocolate on a hot day is so delicious, don't you think? Bern's mille-feuille comes in various pack sizes, which is convenient. I also noticed some tempting packs of baked goods nearby. I might end up buying those next time. Once again, I enjoyed the treats. Thank you for the meal.

On this day in late October 2015, I was approaching my final day at the company I worked for. I had been with the company for a considerable period of time, so I had decided to give farewell gifts to as many people as possible. However, I had a limited amount of money in my wallet, so I decided to visit a patisserie in Bern called Millefeuille. I bought three boxes of Millefeuille as planned. And on my final day a few days later, I was able to greet many people who had taken care of me!

Bern is famous for its mille-feuille, but I received a selection of baked goods. They were small, so I had the chocolate and orange ones for a snack, and both were delicious with strong flavors. The orange one had a moist texture with a sugary coating on top, giving it a nostalgic feel. The chocolate one had a rich chocolate flavor throughout, also with a nostalgic touch. Both were quite sweet, so the small size was just right.

"Mille-feuille" was once very popular as a Tokyo souvenir at my workplace. However, since it was a souvenir, we could only have one each time. Being greedy, I always thought to myself, "When I go to Tokyo, I'll buy a lot and line up three different mille-feuille flavors to compare and enjoy to my heart's content!" My wish came true! I lined up milk chocolate, hazelnut chocolate, and sweet chocolate mille-feuille and tried them all. The crispy pastry coated with chocolate was delicious as always. The simple flavors were so good that I could eat as many as I wanted. I couldn't rank them because all flavors were delicious. A pack of three costs 262 yen, and the small box is convenient for souvenirs. When I asked the staff, they said the stores are only in Tokyo and Nagoya. Part of me wishes they were in Kansai too, but if they were, the excitement of enjoying them as a Tokyo souvenir would diminish. There is a psychological aspect of not being able to eat them whenever I want, which strengthens my love for Bern even more. So, maybe it's better to leave it as it is (laughs).

July is also quickly coming to an end. Another staff member has left this month. It's another farewell. I received a delicious mille-feuille from Bern, which I love. What made me happy was that a card with a personal message was included with it. Thank you so much. My encounter with Bern's mille-feuille began with a souvenir my father brought back. "You like pie, right? Try this." When I think of pie, I used to love Fujiya's Delicious Pie. So, I thought pie was supposed to be hard and crunchy. But the mille-feuille was flaky, with my favorite cream sandwiched between layers and chocolate coating around it... When I ate it for the first time, I remember feeling happy and content as a child. Then I went to buy mille-feuille myself and savored it slowly. The packaging has changed recently to prevent the chocolate from sticking, and it's designed to be easy to eat without getting your hands dirty by tearing it from the center. The mille-feuille that came in a cute package, available only in the summer, uses different chocolates. The cream has a refreshing taste and scent perfect for summer. Pineapple... Milk chocolate Orange... Sweet chocolate Coconut... High milk chocolate Despite being small, each one perfectly balances the chocolate, cream, and pie. The flaky texture of the pie is said to be achieved by layering thinly rolled pie dough multiple times and baking it. Mille-feuille comes from the analogy of "a thousand leaves." Whether you know it or not, you will continue to layer one by one. I will also continue to layer on. I hope there is a wonderful future ahead for all of you.

I have always loved the mille-feuille here. The crispy pastry, the creamy filling, and the chocolate coating that envelops everything! It used to be sold in sets of 3 pieces each of 3 flavors, totaling 9 pieces. But due to price increases, it is now sold in sets of 8 pieces. The flavors are Sweet, Milk, and Hazelnut, and my favorite is Sweet. The size is easy to eat, the texture is crispy, and the cute packaging is sure to appeal to women as well! Plus, the price is reasonable and fair. While Bern offers cookies and other baked goods, the mille-feuille is a must-try. Treat yourself, your friends, your family, or bring it as a souvenir. In August 2012, I tried their new summer product, Tropical Smoothie, which received mixed reviews and wasn't very impressive. But the mille-feuille is still the best.

A friend brought me some mille-feuille as a souvenir. There were three different kinds and they were delicious. The crispy texture of the pastry is so satisfying, whether you eat it chilled in the summer or as is in the winter. I remember trying a special version in the past during the summer which made me go "Hmm, this is good!" The three-piece set comes in a small box and even a larger box, at a reasonable price with cute packaging, making it perfect for gifts. I also use them as souvenirs or small tokens of appreciation. Receiving these as souvenirs is always a delight.

I have always loved Bern's mille-feuille. Even with new sweets coming in from all over the world, its deliciousness never fades. And the fact that you can get 3 pieces for only 262 yen is amazing. I used to give them out often when leaving a company. Distributing them one by one cost around 80 yen each. For colleagues in the same department or nearby, I would give them the 3-pack. The packaging is cute and perfect. I prefer the regular ones over the summer limited edition. Especially the milk and hazelnut flavors are my favorites.

Recently, it has been difficult to go shopping, so I prepared Bern's mille-feuille as a New Year's gift. It is a pie with white cream coated with milk, hazelnuts, and dark chocolate. A classic winter gift that is never boring and delicious. The crispy pie and the flavor of the chocolate coating are delicious. When I purchased it at the end of the year, they also gave me a coin chocolate, which was a nice touch. The coin chocolate in the photo is from the end of 2018. In the summer, I enjoy Joli Coeur, a mini cake with a fruity flavor and a sandy texture. I like the mini size and the cute, unique texture.
