[First visit on January 24, 2022 ・ 3 nights 4 days stay] When working in Muroran city, the commute time between the site and home or the company is about 1.5 hours, so I used to go on a day trip. However, this year there have been frequent heavy snowfalls in the Sapporo area, making driving in Sapporo city time-consuming and considering the round-trip highway tolls and gasoline costs in this situation, staying overnight is cheaper, so I decided to stay this time. The hotel I stayed at for the first time in Muroran was "Muroran Plaza Hotel". I stayed in a Japanese-style room with breakfast and dinner included (6,950 yen including tax per night), and the room did not have a bath, but there was a lukewarm hot spring with flowing spring water in the large public bath, which allowed me to relax and alleviate my chronic back pain before dinner. The meals were served at "Aji-dokoro Hana" on the 2nd floor of the hotel, with a different daily set meal for dinner and side dishes packed in a bento box for breakfast, with rice and tea self-service and miso soup brought from the kitchen. It seems that all rooms at this hotel are basically smoking-permitted, but the room I used did not smell of cigarettes, so it was not a problem for me personally. However, one drawback is that the building is connected to a love hotel owned by the same operator, although the entrance is separate so you will not run into love hotel guests, some people may find it uncomfortable. Another point is that the room's TV has free adult channels, so families or those who dislike such content should be aware! Today's breakfast was enjoyed at the Plaza Hotel in Higashi-Muroran, Hokkaido. Instead of a buffet, they offer a set Japanese meal with neatly arranged side dishes in a bento box. They have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages including beer, sake, shochu, chu-hai, and highball. I opted for water this morning though. Starting with a vegetable salad, I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and cabbage. The side dishes like kinpira gobou, nametake, and simmered vegetables were delicious. The main dishes like hamburger, croquette, grilled fish, and tamagoyaki were also satisfying. They also offered natto and nori as additional sides. The onsen bath was not very large but still relaxing. The nearby tatami room was comfortable as well. Despite being on the opposite side of the bustling area, it was conveniently close to the station. Thank you for the hospitality, Muroran Plaza Hotel. 2-14-2 Higashimachi, Muroran, Hokkaido.

Stayed at a hotel in front of Higashi-Muroran Station. The hotel is an old business hotel, with the 1st to 3rd floors partially converted into a love hotel called "Akasaka". The entrance to the love hotel is separate, of course. The 5th floor has a large hot spring bath and a Japanese-style room for one person. Wi-Fi is available, and you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee from the espresso machine in the lobby. Breakfast is served at the restaurant on the 2nd floor from 6:45 am. The main dishes are served in bento boxes, and the staff brings hot miso soup. Seaweed, water, orange juice, rice, and coffee are self-service. The staff will clear the trays for you. According to a previous review, you could choose between raw egg or natto, but this time natto was already included in the bento box, and there was no raw egg option. The bento box included "vegetables and highland tofu simmered dish", "ginger simmered saury", "omelette", "raw vegetables", "minced cutlet", "meatballs", "simmered eggplant", "asparagus and surimi with mayonnaise", and "natto". The miso soup had just the right amount of flavor, and the simmered dishes were salty and sweet, making the rice very appetizing. You can also enjoy freshly brewed coffee from the espresso machine in the lobby.

First night of the Hokkaido Touring, from Hakodate to Esashi, and then high-speed driving on the Do-O Expressway in the rain. Feeling tired, I opted for a business hotel instead of a rider house last night. I soaked in the hot spring, did some laundry, and fully refreshed myself. This morning, I am feeling a bit heavy due to the rain, but I will energize myself with breakfast! I handed over the breakfast voucher at "Hana" on the 2nd floor, and had the choice between natto or raw egg. I chose the raw egg. The breakfast included grilled fish, sausages, croquettes, dried radish, simmered vegetables, grilled seaweed, and more, all served with rice topped with raw egg. A traditional Japanese breakfast that filled my stomach. Thank you for the meal.

I stayed at Muroran Plaza Hotel for one night on a business trip! For breakfast, I had a Japanese-style bento box at a restaurant called "Hana" in the hotel. Even if you choose a plan without breakfast, you can order it for 700 yen. You serve yourself rice and miso soup. You can choose between natto or eggs. It was an average taste. Thank you for the meal.

Single room with breakfast included for 6,550 yen per night. The room was old but surprisingly spacious and comfortable. Now, let's talk about the breakfast. It was served in the restaurant on the second floor. When we arrived, the side dishes were already prepared, and there was a self-serve system for miso soup and rice. The side dishes included mackerel, omelette, sausage, shumai, kinpira, and pickles. You could also make egg over rice and choose from two types of furikake. The side dishes were honestly average, nothing special. However, the rice and miso soup were refillable, which was nice. In terms of price, it was reasonable for what you get!
