Neonora
Today I felt like drinking and having yakitori... I was curious about this place! It's a highly rated yakitori restaurant in Nakasu Kawabata that I haven't visited before... When I looked it up, I found out that it is the originator of putting vinegar sauce on cabbage and has been featured on TV multiple times... I didn't know that... The restaurant has a spacious interior with a visible grill counter, as well as table, tatami, and seating on the second floor! The chef guided us to our seats and we had a brief conversation... The restaurant has been in business for 58 years, with the second-generation chef at the grill... You can feel the history! The walls are filled with photos of celebrities... Maybe it's because of its proximity to Hakataza? We ordered from the approximately 50 types of skewers available, here is what we ordered: - Chicken skin with ponzu sauce - Cabbage - Pork liver - Chicken liver - Gizzard - Pork belly - Chicken skin - White intestines (large and small) - Chicken heart - Thick fried tofu with ginger - Miso marinated pork - Quail eggs - Beef marinated in sauce - Sweet potato and pork belly roll with scallion - Garlic - Grilled rice ball (1 piece) - Draft beer (medium) x2 - Sweet potato shochu with hot water We started with the popular pork belly, which is a must-have for yakitori in Hakata! (Even though it's called "yakitori," why is "pork" so popular...) Yes! Perfectly seasoned with plenty of salt and the fatty pork belly adds richness! The crispy texture is also great! Truly delicious! Next, we had my personal favorite, liver, as well as pork and chicken liver... These were perfectly grilled with a crispy texture! The liver is tender and melts in your mouth, with a unique flavor that enhances the overall taste. The white intestines have a chewy texture and go perfectly with the sauce, the chicken skin has a crispy texture with the flavor of miso and sagari, the pork sagari is just right with its firm texture, the grilled garlic with its perfect moisture content is incredibly delicious! The quail eggs have a texture that complements the onion and ham flavors... Personally, I also liked the thick fried tofu with ginger! The sharpness of the ginger complements the soy sauce base seasoning, the firm texture of the tofu, and the smoky aroma of the charcoal grilling is amazing! We ended with the grilled rice ball, of course! Although the menu says 2 pieces, they were kind enough to accept our order for 1 piece! The crispy grilled surface, with salted kelp inside the rice! This enhances the flavor and pairs perfectly with the grilled rice ball... We enjoyed our drinks, from beer to shochu, and had a great time! When you want yakitori in Nakasu, this is a place to consider... I will definitely revisit when I'm in the mood for yakitori again! Thank you for the meal!
