The use of soba as a pre-appetizer was fantastic. The Utopia Tamago Kake Gohan (egg rice, with free refills) for 550 yen was surprising, with high-quality Hokkaido rice that was glossy and sticky, showcasing a different level of rice compared to others. The eggs from the farm were rich with a subtle sweetness and a clear umami flavor. The special sauce, when mixed with the rice, created a delicious and satisfying taste. The toppings such as whitebait, okra, salted kelp, and pickled ginger were all well-balanced and added to the overall flavor. The milk was also refreshing with a clear richness that complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, the experience was satisfying and impressive. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere and friendly service also contributed to a great dining experience. However, there could be improvements in the presentation of the dishes on the table. A little touch-up for better presentation for photography purposes would be ideal.

The customer said they received this cookie from someone who came from Kiyota, but I didn't hear who it was. I didn't ask again because it didn't seem necessary. I don't want to be thought of as hard of hearing, so even if I couldn't hear, I decided not to ask again. This cookie is quite popular and delicious. It has a crispy texture, a subtle sweetness, and you can taste the nuts. It has a nice nutty aroma. Overall, I think this is one of the best snacks.

I had a cake at a restaurant that takes pride in their eggs. The place had a small number of seats but was very clean and beautiful inside. The staff were very polite and I had a peaceful time. The cake was delicious. I was a bit surprised that the place was not as spacious as I had imagined from the tourist magazine.

I visited this place for the first time in December 2021, which is close to my home. I came to buy a gift, and when I paid, I received a ticket that can be used in the cafe. I decided to use it right away. Looking at the menu, the only food item available was the Utopia's Tamagokake Gohan (rice with raw egg). There was also a cake set. I ordered an iced coffee with the ticket I received earlier. It was served in less than 5 minutes. The presentation was fresh, with a raw egg and four types of pickles - salted kelp, ginger, okra, and simmered vegetables. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the egg had no strong taste, with a pleasant aftertaste. The sauce was also very smooth. I enjoyed my meal while adding the pickles.

I was in Kiyota a little after 11 o'clock on a weekday and decided to stop by the "Kinotoya Cafe" that I had been curious about for a while. The parking lot was quite busy, with about 80% of the spaces filled. The entrance to this standalone store gave a glimpse of the manufacturing process through a window. Inside, on the right side, there was a cafe space with boxed baked goods near the entrance. Further inside, the display case showcased various cakes, including shortcakes. The place was crowded with around 10 people, making it slightly cramped. I decided to try the "premium dorayaki" and the "choux cream." I enjoyed the choux cream in my car, which had a rich vanilla flavor and a creamy custard filling inside a crispy choux pastry. It was satisfying and delicious. Later, I tried the premium dorayaki at home. The soft and moist skin had a texture similar to an omelette, with red bean paste and whipped cream inside. Although the dorayaki leaned more towards a Western-style pastry in terms of preparation, the taste was excellent. Kinotoya offers a variety of products, but their dorayaki is definitely worth trying. I am curious about their egg over rice dish at the cafe. Thank you for the meal.

Happy New Year (*'ω'*) Let's start off the year with a review from 2020 that I missed! This time, I visited the cafe space attached to Kinotoya FARM, a place I've always wanted to go to.
*Utopia Tamago Kake Gohan (500 yen) - A simple and delicious tamago kake gohan made with carefully selected rice and eggs. It came with 4 side dishes, allowing me to enjoy different flavors. You can get a refill of rice and egg, but honestly, I didn't need it so I wish they would lower the price instead (laughs). The complimentary hojicha was a nice touch.
*Delicious Egg Potato Salad (110 yen) - When you order a food item, you can add potato salad, milk, or drinking yogurt for 110 yen. The potato salad had a nice texture with the eggs cooked just right. It had a simple and tasty flavor. I would like to try their omurice if I have the chance.

Continuing with last year's reviews, I visited "Kinotoya," located across from Kiyota Ward Office. When it first opened, it was crowded with customers, so I had to give up. However, I decided to visit again as I thought it might have calmed down by now. There is a spacious parking space at the back of the building. Inside the building, there is a cafe in addition to the space for selling sweets and cakes, so this time I used the cafe. The cafe space has tables, but there are not many seats. The food menu includes dishes like "Tamago Kake Gohan" and "Omelette Rice" made with carefully selected eggs, as well as cake sets. This time, I ordered the "Delicious Omelette Rice (990 yen)" and a set with "Delicious Pasture Milk from Utopia (110 yen)." It was ready in about 10 minutes. The omelette rice had ketchup-flavored chicken rice inside, wrapped in a fluffy egg on the outside. I personally found the ketchup acidity too strong, but I think it is a delicious omelette rice. The milk I ordered with the set had no typical milk smell and tasted like drinking ice cream, very delicious. They sell carefully selected eggs and milk, so I recommend it especially to those who like milk.

On a certain weekday, I finished work early and happened to pass by the cafe at Kinotoya in Kiyota-ku, which I had not visited before. The parking lot has enough space for several cars. The interior is divided into a cake section and a cafe section, and this time I found the cafe space to be clean and organized, which I personally appreciated. The background music playing was refreshing and upbeat. From the menu, I chose to have the "Soft Serve Ice Cream (380 yen)" and the "Cake Set (660 yen)" which included an "Omelette" cake and a "Hot Coffee". As always, the service at Kinotoya was excellent, just like the cafe at the closed Daimaru department store. I tried the soft serve ice cream first... Oh, it's rich. The soft serve ice cream was unexpectedly voluminous and had a creamy texture with a moderate sweetness and not too much fat, making me wonder if it was made with milk. It was rich and different from the usual milk-based soft serve ice cream. Next, the omelette... It was fluffy and soft, not like a typical sponge cake, with a good balance of sweetness and strong egg flavor. It was topped with lightly coated strawberries that had a similar flavor to the soft serve ice cream. Finally, I finished the coffee without any refills. Overall, I enjoyed the rich milk-based soft serve ice cream and sweets. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited Kinotoya Farm for the first time and wanted to take a break, so I used the cafe. The bright interior with large windows and well-maintained garden creates a sense of openness. They offer a cake and drink set for 680 yen, which is quite reasonable. However, the coffee in the set was disappointing. It lacked depth and flavor. They need to improve their coffee since they are operating as a cafe. It's a shame because the cake was good. I'm not sure what kind of coffee they are using, but it's not worth the 500 yen price tag. A cake costs around 350 yen, and cafe coffee is usually around 500 yen. At first glance, the 680 yen set seems like a good deal, but the coffee is not worth 500 yen. Poor cost performance.

I wanted to go to Kinotoya Cafe Corona, so I wonder if it's open? (June) It's my first visit with a friend for not-so-pure reasons. Utopia's Tamago Kake Gohan for 500 yen and Today's Cake Set (Chocolat Noir with Grazing Milk Ice Cafe au Lait) for 726 yen. The cafe has a long terrace at the back, but no counter. The Tamago Kake Gohan has rice topped with bonito flakes, raw egg, and four side dishes - whitebait, okra, kelp, and pickled plum. It's like a healthy meal with one bowl of rice and one egg, and you can have seconds. Hojicha is available at the counter near the entrance with free refills. There are two food options to choose from without hesitation. My companion doesn't like Tamago Kake Gohan, so they had the Omurice. There are two types of Omurice, with different colors, and the more expensive "adult Omurice" contains chicken and is slightly spicy. The ketchup rice has no filling and has a gentle taste. For cakes, you can choose from the cafe showcase near the entrance. I didn't notice it and passed by, but they brought the menu to our table. You can choose from three items other than those limited to the Shiraishi main store, Higashinaoho factory direct sales store, and home delivery. The Chocolat Noir cake is light and easy to eat. Soft serve ice cream comes in two flavors - milk and azuki bean matcha, with cones and cups available. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and great service. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I had only posted photos of Kinotoya Farm, but since there was a review of the cafe, I will write about it. At the cafe in Kinotoya Farm, you can enjoy cakes and Tamago Kake Gohan (raw egg over rice). I received a free voucher, so I went to eat the cake set. You can choose your favorite cake from the selection. My friend had the Omelette, which is only available at the Kiyota store. It was late February, and the cafe was crowded with people waiting. There were even people reading books alone. It's a convenient place to visit. Thank you for the meal!

It's a place in Kiyota-ku, near the intersection of Atsubetsu Takkono Koen Street and the old National Route 36 in Kiyota 1-jo 4-chome. The exact location can be confirmed on the map on Tabelog as usual. When the restaurant first opened, there was a line to get into the parking lot, but now it seems to be less crowded. I visited the restaurant for the first time. After parking my car, I entered the restaurant and put my name on the waiting list at the cafe, which was about 8 groups long. About 50 minutes later, my name was called, and I was seated at a table for two. I ordered "tamago kake gohan" (rice with raw egg) and "tamago potato salad" and waited for them to be served. The rice with raw egg was tastier than what I usually have at home. I also had some pickles as a palate cleanser. For the second serving, I requested half a portion of rice and enjoyed it with just the egg yolk and soy sauce. The "tamago potato salad" had a generous amount of boiled eggs and a mayo with a mild acidity, making it easy to eat. I finished off with some hojicha tea to refresh my palate before leaving. The restaurant has only table seating, so the wait time to be seated is about 6-7 minutes per group in line.

In the newly opened "Kinotoya Farm" in Kiyota, there is a cafe attached to the farm in Hokkaido Hidaka region, Niikappu town, operated directly by Kinotoya called "Utopia". They serve delicious eggs from free-range chickens and fresh milk from grazing cows. The concept is to make delicious sweets from these ingredients, which led to the birth of Kinotoya Farm. In the cafe corner, they offer dishes like "Tamagokake Gohan", "Omelette Rice", and fluffy freshly baked souffle. I tried the "Utopia Tamagokake Gohan" which comes with two Utopia eggs and you can have unlimited rice refills, plus free refills of hojicha tea. The glossy and sweet rice was delicious, and I naturally had seconds. All this for only 500 yen including tax is a great deal! The beautifully maintained garden visible from the large window, transitioning from snowmelt to blooming flowers throughout the seasons, is something I would like to see. The Omelette Rice is a bit pricey, but I'm determined to work hard and come back to eat it again. Thank you, Kinotoya Cafe!

Light snack. Visited with family. Some thoughts:
- Located a bit off National Route 36.
- Purchased a pudding parfait and a yogurt drink.
- The pudding parfait had pudding, sponge cake, whipped cream, and mandarin oranges.
- It was delicious.
