Feasting Journey Part 12 - Night visit to Fukuoka in 2023. (3rd place...lol) The location is on a street just a little towards the Tenjin side of Nishinakajima Bridge, which connects Nakasu and Tenjin. Across the road, near the Bank of Japan. It's your typical food stall. And even though it's past midnight, there's a line... Seriously popular spot. And the crowd is quite interesting, considering it's late at night. The group in front of us consists of three college girls on a trip to Hakata and a cute girl. The guy who thought he successfully hit on her realizes she's with friends, so no one-night stand for him, and he might end up treating her two friends as well. Then there's a group behind us, made up of male and female colleagues. The mature woman in the group remarks, "It's already midnight! Time flies so fast, I didn't even notice. Can't go home yet... Let's just drink for now." It's so obvious and funny, making you smile. You can experience the atmosphere of the stall even before entering the shop. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we finally get inside, and it's really cramped. Even though it's 1 am, it's crowded, so it's not exactly a place to relax and drink. Here are my thoughts on the food: 1. Oden (160 yen each x 4) - I chose daikon, egg, hanpen, and tofu. The broth is incredibly flavorful and warms you up on a cold night. 2. Yakitori (230 yen or 300 yen) - I chose bonjiri, bara, and wagyu tendon. The cooking environment may be questionable, but the taste is authentic and delicious. It may not be the best place to have yakitori, but it's great to experience it in a stall setting. 3. Ramen (750 yen) - I ordered this as a final dish... actually, this was the real reason I came to this shop, even though it's the third place we visited. My stomach must be glitching to still be able to eat ramen at this point (lol). But the actual ramen was... incredibly delicious!!! It's a rich and flavorful tonkotsu ramen with a strong pork bone broth. It's on a level that would surprise even famous ramen shops in the area. So, as a tourist, I felt like I found the "right answer" in Hakata! It's orthodox but of extremely high quality!! Really amazing!! In conclusion, this shop offers a variety of human interactions and delicious stall food. They're open until past 2 am, so it's perfect for tourists not worrying about catching the last train and for girls who just don't want to go home yet! Definitely recommended!!!
