On a Saturday evening, we arrived at the restaurant which seemed half-open. It was crowded with families, but luckily we found a table. Surprisingly, they had a wide variety of izakaya menu items like yakitori. We started with a drink - the beer and highball were delicious in the chilled glasses. The yakitori and other appetizers were tasty. For the finale, we ordered ramen. The soup was very similar to GAGA or Ichiran, and it was delicious. The thin noodles were great too. Definitely want to try their tantanmen next time!

Overall, it's okay. The base is similar to Ichiran ramen with some additional menu items. The resemblance to Ichiran is decent, passing grade. The chashu is a bit disappointing. Also, the fried rice is not crispy at all, so I wouldn't come back for that. Well, it might be worth trying out other soup options as well.

I visited for lunch. This ramen shop is my favorite! You can choose from Ramen, Ichi, or Aka, but I always order Ichi. It's a little spicy, but it's addictive. The pickled mustard greens are self-service, so I always order an extra serving and enjoy a second bowl with a different flavor. The lunch set also includes egg fried rice. This ramen shop is my go-to place once a month.

In Kasuga City, there is a place called "Ichi." The photos with menu descriptions are displayed on the wall at the counter seats. The signature dish "Ichi" (700 yen) is described as a basic bowl reminiscent of the taste of a famous restaurant. Looking at the photo with foam on the surface, it reminded me of "Ikkousha." However, when I saw the photo of the "Ramen" (750 yen), with less foam on the surface and topped with spicy sauce, it looked just like "Ichiran." I was torn between the two but ended up ordering the latter with a fried rice set (additional 300 yen). As I savored the ramen, I couldn't help but think that the owner probably trained at "Ichiran." The soup was flavorful with no unpleasant smell, similar to "Ichiran." The secret sauce was spicy like "Ichiran," but even sweeter, with the umami of shiitake mushrooms and a strong garlic flavor, just like "Ichiran." The noodles lacked firmness, which was also similar. The chashu was nicely seared on the outside, but disappointingly lacking in meaty flavor. The fried rice seemed moist, likely due to plenty of oil, and had a generous seasoning that seemed to include plenty of umami seasoning. I was disappointed that it didn't have any toppings like chashu or kamaboko, only egg. It would have been better if they provided a spoon instead of a ladle, as it was difficult to scoop towards the end due to the shallow dish. However, the self-serve pickled mustard greens were delicious. Compared to "Ichiran," the sweetness seemed stronger. If it's the same taste, then "Ichiran" would probably be rated a 2.5 at a price of nearly 1000 yen. I might want to confirm this by visiting "Ichiran," but since I'm not particularly fond of it, I don't really care.

Recommended! Ramen Hajime Address: 2-65 Kasuga Koen, Kasuga City, Fukuoka Prefecture Ramen: 730 yen Payment methods: Cash, PayPay Parking: Available Visit details: Day: Thursday Time: 21:50-22:05 Dining style: Eat-in Crowdedness: 30-40% Personal impression: 【Soup】 Sweet and savory like Ichiran 【Noodles】 Crispy thin noodles 【Toppings】 Char siu, green onions Impression: Located near Kasuga Park in Kasuga City, Fukuoka Prefecture, this ramen shop also offers izakaya menu at night. To put it simply, the taste is reminiscent of Ichiran. The distinctive red condiment sauce is an icon of this style. The soup with a sweet and savory taste is elegant without any unpleasant odor. Among this type of ramen, my favorites are Fukusen's Futakichi Mon and Ogori's Waga, along with Ramen Hajime. Highly recommended! #ramen #ramenlover #tonkotsuramen #fukuokaramen #sagaramen #noodles #gourmet #japanesefood

In short, it was a simple ramen. Toppings like menma and boiled egg cost extra. I added menma and boiled egg. First, I tried the soup... delicious, with the pork bone flavor I like. The set came with only egg in the fried rice, which was a bit plain. I prefer more toppings, but it was still tasty.

Recommended! Ramen Hajime in Kasuga Park, Kasuga City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Ramen: 650 yen. Personal impression: - Soup: Sweetness reminiscent of Ichiran style - Noodles: Thin noodles with a firm texture - Toppings: Secret sauce, chashu pork, green onions Overall impression: A ramen that follows the Ichiran style. Among establishments like Futarikimmon in Nishijin, Waga in Ogori, and this one, this is my favorite in this lineage.

On Fridays at 6pm in Kasuga City. I've been around here every week for over a year, always hesitating whether to go or not. Finally, I tried HAJIME. The chef trained at Nijinichi's "Danmoku", so it's a small town-style ramen. I ordered the HAJIME for 600 yen, which is a type without condiments. The soup is a brown color with a strong sauce and a noticeable garlic flavor. It reminded me of Ichiran at first. It's salty and leaves a spicy impression in the second half. The noodles are thin and I ordered them firm, but they were perfectly cooked. I recommend it to those who like Ichiran. They have a self-payment system with an automatic settlement machine, which was a good experience. Despite some negative reviews, the owner's service was very polite and pleasant. They also have izakaya menu at night. Next time, I'll try the signature ramen with the secret sauce. Thank you for the meal!

Visited on a Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM. There were only 3 parking spaces in front of the shop, but luckily one was empty. Upon entering, I was surprised to see that all 4 table seats and the raised seating area were full of families. When did this place become so popular? Where did everyone park their cars? At the entrance, there is a ticket machine where you can order ramen along with set menus, toppings, and specify the firmness of the noodles. Additional orders can be made with cash. The lunch set is available from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Options like 3 gyoza + rice for 200 yen, mentaiko rice for 100 yen, and half fried rice for 250 yen are available. The prices include tax and seem like a good deal, but I can't eat that much. I purchased a ticket for "Hajime 一" for 600 yen and an additional boiled egg for 100 yen. The toppings included thin, large slices of chashu and green onions. This costs 600 yen, which is considered expensive for ramen in Fukuoka. The soup is rich with a strong sweetness and saltiness, and it tastes good, but considering my health, I left about 1/3 of it. The noodles were straight, extra-thin, and had a firm texture when specified as "barikata." The portion of noodles was generous, so I didn't order an extra serving. In addition to "Hajime 一," they also offer ramen for 650 yen, "Red" for 650 yen, and tantanmen for 850 yen. The "ramen" is similar to the ramen from a chain restaurant with a secret sauce, while the "Red" is a spicy miso meat ramen. I tried tantanmen last time, "Hajime 一" this time, so I'll order "Red" next time. I'll pass on the ramen with the secret sauce.

Visited for lunch on a Sunday. There were only 3 parking spaces in front of the restaurant, luckily they were empty. I ordered the Tan Tan Men for 850 yen, and my eldest daughter ordered the Ichi (HAJIME) for 600 yen. Prices include tax. The noodles in the Tan Tan Men were curly with a high water content, giving them a slightly chewy texture. The portion of noodles was generous. Toppings included minced meat and chopped green onions, but there was no bok choy commonly found in Tan Tan Men. The soup base seemed to be pork bone-based, similar to the Ichi (HAJIME), but with added chili oil and ground sesame seeds. It was spicier than it looked, and I started sweating as I ate, even though it was December. The menu describes it as "Sichuan-style with plenty of sesame seeds." While the sesame flavor was present, it wasn't particularly strong, as the pork bone and spiciness seemed to dominate. I tried a sip of the soup from the Ichi (HAJIME) that my daughter ordered, but the spiciness from the Tan Tan Men lingered in my mouth, making it difficult to fully taste the pork bone broth. I plan to try the Ichi (HAJIME) on my next visit.

There are times when I crave for tantanmen, and today was one of those days! The tantanmen at this ramen shop has a pork bone base, which I really enjoyed. The thin and cheap-looking soup here is much better suited for tantanmen than for ramen. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

This is Ramen Ichi in Kasuga City, Fukuoka Prefecture. It seems to be a popular spot for ramen during the day and turns into an izakaya at night. Located near the famous Rokuchoya, it must be a solid place to attract customers. I ordered a regular tonkotsu ramen and found the broth to be rich and flavorful, although a bit too salty for my taste. The noodles were thin and cooked perfectly. The side dish of spicy cod roe rice had a generous amount of cod roe but could use a bit more rice. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

When heading to the Kasuga Ballpark, I often see this ramen shop, but this was my first visit. I sat at the counter and ordered the "Original Special Pork Bone Ramen" with a seasoned soft-boiled egg on top! It came out quickly! It was a hearty tonkotsu ramen - maybe they call it Hakata ramen? Well, I enjoyed it very much! \(^^)/

Located behind Kasuga Park, just before the overpass at JR Kasuga Station, it might be easier to understand if I say it's two doors down from Rokunagaya for all you otaku out there. It takes a lot of courage to set up a shop near Rokunagaya, but they seem to be targeting regular customers like the students from Kasuga High School by offering an amazing student discount - "High school students and below, free extra noodles, white rice, as many times as you want." It seems like the place has changed hands many times before, like a cursed location, so without something special, people naturally don't go there. Well, if they keep complaining about competition coming in, it's a sign that they might collapse before others, so Rokunagaya seems to be taking it easy. The parking lot with three spaces in front of the shop was a bit difficult to park in, but once inside, the place looked like a snack bar even though it was just before noon. I ordered the "Original Special Pork Bone Ramen for 600 yen" with an extra topping of chashu for 90 yen, totaling 690 yen. The ramen that was soon served was surprisingly creamy, not like it was intentionally whipped with a whisk, but naturally creamy. It was flavorful with a hint of garlic, slightly salty, more suitable for students than laborers. The noodles were thin without specifying hardness. The chashu was small but thick, with a meaty texture. Overall, it was well-made, but it felt like it was missing that special taste or flavor to make it stand out. If they can figure that out, they might surpass their neighboring shop. But if they do, they might have to move due to increased customers, and they won't be neighbors anymore. Personal rating on Tabelog: 3.6.

I have been here a few times. I tried the original HAJIME ramen at first, then the regular ramen with secret sauce, and the taste is not bad. Well, I would say it's more on the delicious side. However, every time I go, even if I arrive at opening time, the place is not open. When the staff come out while I'm waiting outside, they don't say anything (they don't explain why they are late or how much longer until they open). Even when I enter with the curtain out, there is no "sorry for the wait." Last time, I was left waiting outside in the scorching heat for about 10 minutes, and still no words were spoken, so I will never go back.

I went to Ichisan, a ramen shop near Shirakinohara Station that is located across the JR line. It was a refreshing experience after eating a richly flavored ramen. This shop also operates on a ticket system, but it was convenient as there were photos on the tickets. I ordered the regular ramen. Although they have options like spicy or secret sauce, I decided to try the regular flavor first. The thin straight noodles were served quickly. The pork bone broth was boiled strongly, although it was not cloudy, and the flavor was on the rich side. The saltiness was also slightly strong. There was pickled ginger on the table, which added a nice touch. If you like richly flavored ramen, this place might be worth a try.
