At the popular standing bar in Tenjin, Hakata! Hakata Standing Bar Tsunoya Maido! This is Yamadera (^ ^ ♪ This day, I went to Kyushu Hakata by Shinkansen - it's been a while since I went on a drinking expedition - After arriving at Hakata Station, I immediately took the subway and got off at "Tenjin" station. The shop is the standing bar "Tsunoya." The atmosphere and detailed information about the shop are also uploaded on YouTube, so please refer to it. Let's visit the shop right away. There is a drinking area on the basement and 1st floor, where you can sit and drink in the basement. I decided to drink at the standing bar on the 1st floor. The shop's system is to purchase a food ticket at the ticket machine and place an order. First, I started with a highball for 300 yen. As a snack, I ordered a pickled vegetables assortment for 200 yen. However, since I came all the way to Hakata, I have to order Hakata-like food, right? (laughs) So, I ordered "game-ni" for 250 yen! It is a dish made by stewing taro, chicken, lotus root, carrots, etc. It was delicious because it was stewed a little sweet - Oh! When I think about it, it's just like "chikuzenni"♪ Maybe the name differs by region! Another dish is the great value set for 450 yen. A great value set that includes wiener, fried chicken, and french fries! This is a happy dish that goes well with highballs or beer! When it comes to Kyushu, it's "kibinago"♪ I also ordered fried kibinago. The crispy fried kibinago is delicious as expected (^ ^ ♪ Another dish is the vinegar motsu for 250 yen - Let's eat that too. It was a great dish with crunchy motsu dipped in ponzu sauce, refreshing and seems like you can eat as much as you want♪ Tsunoya seems to be a very popular shop in Tenjin! The Mega Highball with horse mackerel fry is the best. Horse mackerel fry has been popular lately, but the horse mackerel fry here is delicious and cheap. You get 4 pieces for 450 yen. It's a great flow to have a drink from noon and then head to the Irish bar. I will definitely go back.

One of the famous restaurants in Tenjin. Hyotan Sushi? I can't stand in line on such a hot day... I ran from the New Tenjin shopping street with the air conditioning on full blast. It's fine to stand and drink on the first floor, but going downstairs allows you to sit, which is great. Buy a ticket from the ticket machine (of course...). Then, hand the ticket to the old man at the shop for both drinks and food. Do not hand it to the foreign ladies at the drink counter (1 loss). Enjoy a beer while watching the Koshien baseball game. Kirin Ichiban Shibori medium-sized mug. Not a mug, but a mugger. And then, a Chikappa mugger. Chikappa is like, well, it's like a Dimolt. "Amazing" or something like that. It's a Fukuoka dialect. The photo might be a bit dark and difficult to take, maybe because the pig is drunk. You can choose between sea bream or amberjack for sashimi. I chose amberjack as you can see. The pig's favorite is "plum vinegar octopus." It's hot outside, after all. Well, it's a good restaurant for a hearty meal, but the pig is a reviewer. I had a light pre-drink snack and then headed out to the next battle.

I feel like there are more types of small dishes now. I chose a light and crispy stir-fried lotus root dish. It's quite spicy, isn't it! Lately, our meeting spot before going out for drinks has become the corner shop. It's nice to wait for friends while enjoying a drink and then heading out for more drinks. It's great to have such a peaceful everyday routine back. Well then, summer vacation starts tomorrow! I'm going out for drinks again today!

The place is really popular. I will definitely visit a few more times. You can smoke and watch baseball, it's the best. A Megahighball with a set of deep-fried skewers costs around 1,000 yen. This is a great place for "senbero" where you can casually drop in alone and enjoy drinking from daytime. It would be great if more of these kinds of places could increase around Tenjin area.

I only have two photos because I stopped by the second restaurant. It was a time when there weren't many side dishes. It's a place where you can make your own senbero. I think its biggest strength is being budget-friendly. If it's nearby, I would visit it often.

I use this place for pre-drinks before a drinking party because I don't know any other places where I can drink during the day. I like it because it's a standing bar and I can easily drop by. I didn't want to go to the next party, so I wanted to just hang out and drink here with my friends. I had 3 beers, fried chicken, simmered motsu (offal), and a mega highball for about 3000 yen. I later realized I wanted to try the Aji Fry from Matsura. Too bad. I'll be back in July or August when I have a chance to come to Tenjin again.

A perfect izakaya! Tsunoya! Orders are made with food tickets. It was our third stop so we just had a quick bite. There were so many menu options that I couldn't decide, so I just copied what my friend was eating (っ ॑꒳ ॑c).lol I handed the food ticket to the staff, and when the dishes were ready, they called my name to pick them up. (When leaving, return the dishes to the return slot) - Fried chicken cartilage - French fries - Small portion of mackerel for closing dish. The prices are cheap for the small portions, so it was just right. You can stand on the first floor and sit downstairs. It's a carefree and lively place, like an adult's paradise. Thank you for the meal!

Today I had a business trip to Fukuoka. I stopped by here for shopping and errands. I've always wanted to try it! I went to Kakoya-san! I bought various items with food tickets. Cheers with a highball. The ham cutlet and vinegar chicken were good! I want to try other things next time! It was delicious! I will visit again!

During my first training session in Fukuoka, I visited this place. It's a standing bar called Kakoya. The interior is set up with a food ticket system! I had a light meal and drinks, it was just right. I tried various dishes, but the Japanese-style fried food was delicious! If I have the chance, I'll definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!

I became a fan of the Fukuoka Hawks, a team I've been visiting for work for 20 years. I found this standing bar where you can enjoy drinks alone while watching Hawks games. The atmosphere is lively with fans of all ages. You buy food tickets from a machine for a straightforward payment system. Prices are very cheap!! Highball for 320 yen, medium beer for 480 yen. The drinks are well-made and the dishes are delicious. Sashimi (420 yen) was fresh and fatty, ham cutlet (350 yen) was thick and tasty, simmered sardines (200 yen) were just as expected, and sesame mackerel (380 yen) had a sweet flavor that paired well with highball. Whether there's a Hawks game or not, it's a place where you can have a good time.

It's been a while since I had a quick drink at Kakoya! The underground area was full, so I had a standing drink on the first floor. First, I had a 300 yen highball and pickled mackerel. As I started to get hungry, I ordered cartilage fried chicken and kimchi dumplings. And then, I tried the salted meat that I was curious about!!! It was 490 yen, a bit pricey at Kakoya. By the way, the ticket machine says "Kakoya's salted meat." Naming it after the restaurant, they must have a lot of confidence, right? I was wondering what would come out, but it was a simple-looking piece of meat and a generous portion of potato salad. The meat had a simple seasoning as the name suggests! It had a good chewiness, and the more you chew, the more flavor comes out. The right amount of saltiness made it easy to drink more highballs. I think I'm hooked on this! Thank you for the meal.

Last time we had a daytime drink, this time we went to a second bar at night and were a bit tired from walking, so we chose a seat in the underground area. We started with a lemon sour and ordered a mixed plate of skewers that we couldn't get last time. It came with large skewers, a fried horse mackerel from Matsura, Nagasaki, and even bamboo shoots, which felt like a good deal. The mackerel was different from what I expected, but still good. Next, we had vinegar tripe, which had a soft texture and was perfect with the dashi-flavored ponzu and red yuzu pepper. Lastly, we had simmered pig trotters, which were incredibly tender, served with ponzu sauce. There are many delicious and great restaurants in Hakata, but what makes this place special is perhaps its old-fashioned charm. The downside of this place is that there are too many menu options to try everything, and smoking is allowed. Also, I was impressed to see a wide range of female customers of different ages (from their 20s to around 70s) at this restaurant.

Fukuoka, second stop here. The nearby sushi restaurant was full, so I peeked into this place and found seats available. It's a standing bar but quite lively. You buy food tickets and hand them over at the counter to get drinks. The fried food and other dishes are called out later. I was a bit worried about getting the wrong order, but everyone seemed drunk so it was probably not a problem. I had about three large beers and left feeling full. Thank you for the meal.

When I asked my friend for recommendations on a standing bar in Hakata, they immediately suggested this place called Sumiya. So, I headed to Tenjin and entered the shop. At first, nobody told me what to do, so I assumed I had to buy food and drink tickets. I ordered a highball and a few snack tickets. Then, I lined up and handed my tickets to the counter to place my order. The alcohol came quickly, so I started with some plum konjac and nikujaga. I toasted with my highball, feeling good. The whiskey was Kirin's Ocean Lucky, a cheap but popular choice. The sweet nikujaga and cheap Ocean Lucky surprisingly went well together. The plum konjac was a nice palate cleanser. I must say, I made good choices. The sweet nikujaga was a bit too sweet, so I ordered a refill with shochu. It was great. The sweet flavor paired well with the beef and the shochu on the rocks. I would love to come back if I have the time. The value set menu caught my eye.

The restaurant was crowded on both the first floor and the basement! If customers are not considerate of each other, it's hard to secure a table (laughs). It's great for a casual drink after work, pre-drinks before a night out, and since it opens at 11 am, it's also good for a daytime drink. Whenever you go, retired old men, salarymen coming from work, young couples, and people of all ages and genders gather here. It's a place of relaxation for the common people. I will definitely visit the long-established standing bar "Kadoya" in Tenjin again!

First, I had a lemon sour with sesame mackerel. The lemon sour was standard, not too sweet, and delicious. The sesame mackerel was inexpensive but tasted better than its price. Next, I tried the vinegar tripe with pickled sardines. It tasted just as I expected - the fish and tripe were both delicious. The simmered pig's trotters were amazing, comparable to the taste of Yokohama's famous Iekei ramen. The fried pork knuckle was simply delicious.
