For today's Fukuoka lunch, I went to Hakata Station. I had been curious about this place for a while, located on the first floor of Deitos. The second floor is known for its ramen alley, but most of the restaurants on the first floor's drinking street also serve lunch. There was a line of 6-7 people in front of this place, but I decided to wait. The lunch seemed to be only 600 yen! After about 10 minutes of waiting, I entered the restaurant. It was a busy place, but they were efficient in serving customers. I sat at a table for two, sharing with another person, but there was a partition in front of us so it didn't bother me. I ordered the "Ala-ni" (600 yen), which seemed to be the most popular choice as many others were ordering it as well. In just 3-4 minutes, my dish arrived. It consisted of a plate of Ala (fish head and bones), rice, soup, pickles, and a separate bowl of broth. The Ala had a sweet and savory soy sauce flavor. It was a bit salty, especially when dipped in the broth. The meat around the bones and the head were delicious. Despite the appearance, there was a lot of food on the plate. The strong flavor paired well with the rice. I noticed that they offered refills for rice, soup, and pickles. I decided to get a refill of rice once. Honestly, I started to get full halfway through, but I pushed through and finished it all. It might be best to come with someone and share the Ala and fried chicken. After finishing the meal, I was quite full and a good amount of time had passed. Customers who ordered the Ala seemed to stay longer than others who ordered different dishes. The person in front of me ordered at the same time, but they were only halfway through when I left (laughs). I paid the bill and left, but honestly, I thought, "Is this price really okay?" I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.
