"Takahashi Sogo Honpo (Headquarters Factory Direct Store)" is a shop I found and purchased a product from after seeing it on TV at the right time. -------------------------------------------------- --------------------------- ■ □ ■ □ ■ □ ■ □ ■ □ ■ □ ■ □ Introduced on January 26, 2016 on TV 6ch [TBS TV] "Matsuko's Unknown World". ◉ Business hours ◉ Regular holiday ******** Latest February 2016 ******** ◆ YUZUSCO @ 540yen "YUZUSCO is a new liquid yuzu pepper that is a new sensation. The ingredients are 'yuzu peel,' 'vinegar,' and 'pepper (red pepper),' and the name 'YUZUSCO' is named after using a part of each name. The yuzu is fragrant green yuzu peel from Higashiyonemura, Miyazaki Prefecture. To enhance the fragrance of this green yuzu, each one is peeled by hand. The vinegar is carefully selected from the hundreds of types of vinegar from a local vinegar shop with a 300-year history, and the most suitable vinegar for 'YUZUSCO' is used. It is simple but versatile in Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine. The taste is like a yuzu version of Tabasco, but with less saltiness and acidity than Tabasco. It has a stronger yuzu accent than 'yuzu pepper,' so it is a very useful seasoning in our home." ******** Evaluation is based on the seasoning department ********

In the past, when Shimada Shinsuke introduced a certain product on TV with his skillful storytelling, phone calls and online orders would immediately surge, causing the sellers to be both happy and overwhelmed. An example of this was the "Amattare Udon" from Miyagi. After Shimada Shinsuke retired in 2011, everyone wondered who would take on that role, and it turned out to be Matsuko Deluxe with her enthusiastic eating and straightforward compliments. Even now, the Tokyo Station Bento recommended by Matsuko in "Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai" is still unavailable. You could order smoked nuts, but you would receive an email saying it's uncertain when it will be shipped, and the package would arrive when you least expect it. This time, "Nabe no Moto" was featured on "Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai". On January 26th, while watching the show, I ordered the product online. Some items were already sold out. I managed to order a set of 5 Yuzusuko and 1 Norikuro in celebration of Kotoshogiku's victory. It turns out this shop is located in Yanagawa, the same hometown as Kotoshogiku. The next day, I received a message from the shop saying there would be a delay in delivery. I waited eagerly for 10 days until it arrived on February 4th! I immediately opened the Yuzusuko and Norikuro. Yuzusuko is a liquid version of Yuzu pepper made with Yuzu peel, vinegar, and chili pepper. Unlike regular Yuzu pepper which uses a lot of salt, this one is made with very little salt. On the other hand, Norikuro is a spread made with Ariake seaweed, sugar, and Yuzu. I tried Yuzusuko with dumplings and Norikuro with bread. Yuzusuko indeed has very little saltiness. The fragrance of Yuzu fills your mouth, followed by the spiciness of the chili pepper. Those who are used to the saltiness of Yuzu pepper might find it lacking, but its liquid form allows for various uses. Norikuro, as expected, has the base flavor of Nori tsukudani with added Yuzu flavor, sweetness, and spiciness. It goes well with bread. Both are priced at 540 yen per bottle. Give them a try if you're interested.

I received this Yuzu hot sauce from a friend about 2 years ago and it was delicious, so I decided to order it. Since it was featured on the TV show hosted by Matsuko Deluxe, it has become very popular and takes a long time to get. I enjoyed the Yuzu hot sauce on pizza and dumplings. It goes well with cheese, but also pairs nicely with hot pot dishes. My friend's favorite way to enjoy it is by adding it to shochu. It has a mild spiciness and a lighter flavor compared to Tabasco. This time, I decided to try out other varieties as well. I'm looking forward to trying it on different foods.

On October 28th, I visited the "Sanseki Interchange" on the Kyushu Expressway and headed towards Miike Port in Omuta City. My purpose was to visit the "Miike Coal Mine Related Assets," a component of the World Cultural Heritage site known as the "Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution." I visited the Miyanohara Pit, the remains of the coal mine railway, the former Nagasaki Customs Miike Tax Office, and the Miike Port where Tatsuma Dan made significant contributions. After the tour, I stopped by a famous shop known for its "Ariake Pickles," called the "Ariake Pickle Headquarters." Located on the outskirts of Yanagawa City, the black building amidst rice fields was bustling with several tour buses parked outside. I started with some tastings and ended up purchasing a few items as souvenirs, including the popular "Gold Seal Shellfish Pickles." This delicacy, made with plenty of "tairagi shellfish," offers a rich blend of seaweed aroma, sake lees flavor, and the natural umami of the ingredients.

This is the factory direct store of Takahashi Sohonpo, famous for "Ariake-zuke" and "YUZUSUKO". On this day, we took a day trip to Yanagawa with fellow industry colleagues. It was drizzling rain, but we enjoyed the boat ride down the river in Yanagawa and tried the famous steamed eel dish. After that, we all stopped by this store to buy souvenirs. At the store, the staff kindly explained the products to us while we sampled them. Among the many products, I chose the clam pickled in Ariake. It's marinated in sake lees and has a unique soft texture that goes perfectly with rice.

Near Tokueki Station, there is a shop connected to the manufacturing factory of Ariake Tsukudani. The main products are "Yuzu Suko" and Kasuzuke. They also sell Ariake delicacies and Karinto. I will refrain from providing an overall review as this review only focuses on ice cream. My business at the Kurume city office took longer than expected, so I arrived at Nishitetsu Tokueki Station later than planned, aiming to visit a ramen shop recommended by D-oh in Tosu. However, I couldn't find any restaurants in the area with a good view. On the way, I passed by a shop attached to the Ariake Tsukudani factory, where I discovered a unique treat among the Kasuzuke group. "Yuzu Suko Ice Cream for adults - 270 yen." "Yuzu Suko" is like a Yuzu pepper version of Tabasco. I decided to buy one and also ended up buying some Kasuzuke. While surrounded by the smoke of burning grass, I returned to Tokueki Station. I opened the ice cream at the unmanned station. The ice cream spoon provided seemed a bit special for an ice cream. It's more like sherbet than regular ice cream. The scent of Yuzu is noticeable, and you can feel the spiciness of chili. The sweetness is subtle. Although the sign didn't deceive me, I can't say it's delicious. It's a peculiar treat that I tried.

It is located about a 10-minute drive from Miyama Yanagawa IC. I purchased Yuzu Suko and Unagi Poli from here (⌒▽⌒) These two are common items that I often buy, they are staples in our household (⌒▽⌒) You can also find them at parking areas, so many people buy them there. Yuzu Suko is like yuzu pepper, and can be used in any dish. Unagi Poli is often eaten as a snack during trips or drives. Once you start eating it, you can't stop. It provides a lot of calcium and is nutritious compared to regular snacks (*^_^*)

Received from the master of a certain spaghetti restaurant. "NORI KURO"... "Nori Kuro? Tube of seaweed simmered in soy sauce? Yuzu pepper is strong in flavor. Could this be a spin-off product of 'Nori Nez' or inspired by 'Yuzu Sco'? Oh no! This might be enough for a meal with just rice. Or is the name 'Nori Kuro' a simple copy from a manga where a black stray dog causes a commotion in the army? So many unknowns, but maybe I'll understand after eating 2 or 3 more tubes. Well, I bet my friends from Yanagawa area will give me some as a souvenir (laughs)."

I drove to Takahashi Shoten, famous for its yuzu kosho. This time, I also got the clam soup for 200 yen, but the real star is the kasuzuke (kasu pickled) sea cucumber. It's incredibly delicious, and I make sure to buy it every time I visit. They also have kasuzuke scallops and kasuzuke vegetables, which are also very tasty.

Hello, I'm Chi from the "Other Reviewers" team. (✿✪‿✪。)ノ Hello ♡ I tried "Norikuro" before and I really liked it. The perfect combination of sweet seaweed tsukudani with yuzu pepper is delicious. I can't go buy it for a while, so I'll savor it.

Yuzu flavored squid tempura snack. Takahashi Shoten sent me a gift, so I decided to try it. The package is refreshing green and the contents are squid tempura snacks. Not just spicy, but also with a tangy yuzu aroma that spreads in your mouth, making it hard to stop eating. Perfect for refreshing your palate after sweets or as a snack with beer! I heard they have a store in the basement of a department store in Hakata, so I plan to check it out next time I go. It would be great if they sold it year-round, not just seasonally. Yuzu flavored squid tempura snack Price: ¥356 (tax included) Website: https://www.takahashi-shoten.co.jp/ Address: 1897-10 Taremichi, Mihashi-cho, Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture Phone: 0944-73-6271

I received a souvenir from a colleague at work! There's so much food, I might end up eating too much (lol). This is a great souvenir! Maybe I should bring this next time I visit Kyushu? I haven't tried "yuzu suko" yet... I wonder what I should try it with? Any recommendations? Looking forward to it! (•ө•)♡

A food company located in Yanagawa City. It is pronounced "Takahashi Souhonpo" and the company name is Takahashi Shoten Co., Ltd. They mainly deal with Ariake pickles and eel, which is a specialty of Yanagawa City. Their snack called "Unagi Politto" is made from eel bones left over from cooking eel, lightly coated with flour, deep-fried, and cut into small pieces. It has a crunchy texture and is easy to chew, making it a great source of calcium. Once you start eating it, you won't be able to stop because of its delicious taste. It's surprising that this kind of snack is not more commonly found.
