☆Recommended Points☆ ① Thick and fluffy omelette with a generous amount of filling ② Set menu including side dishes, salad, and drink for 1,080 yen, great value for money 【Recommended Usage Scenes】 Date, dining with family/friends/acquaintances/colleagues, travel 【Menu】 "Omurice Set (1,080 yen)" *Includes salad, drink, soup, side dish First and foremost, the standout feature of this restaurant is the extremely thick, fluffy, and jiggly omelette. It's a half-cooked type that opens up with a cut in the middle, known as the "flower blooming omurice." The flavor is simple, but the amount of egg used is quite substantial, likely more than three eggs. The rice is slightly soft with less moisture, resembling ketchup rice. While the ketchup flavor isn't overpowering, there's a noticeable buttery aroma. The ingredients include ham and onions. The sauce is a thick and rich demi-glace sauce with high viscosity, offering a blend of sweet and bitter flavors akin to chocolate, with occasional hints of acidity. Since the sauce itself has a strong flavor, it complements the relatively mild taste of the omelette and ketchup rice. Especially with the simple taste of the omelette, the rich demi-glace sauce pairs well. The Omurice Set includes not only the main omurice but also soup, salad, side dish, pickles, and even a drink, all for 1,080 yen, which is truly exceptional value for money. Considering the quality and quantity, this price would be unheard of in Tokyo. 【Summary】 Located near Akasaka Station in Hakata, behind Fukuoka Castle ruins and Fukuoka City Central Gymnasium, is Lion Shokudo. I visited three years ago in 2020 and was impressed by the incredible value for money. On this holiday visit at 11:40, the restaurant was full, with one group waiting outside. The jiggly omurice has gained even more popularity, turning the restaurant into a hot spot. With only one chef and one staff member managing the place, even a short line can result in a one-hour wait, but this time we managed to get in after about 20 minutes. Despite the rising prices, the value for money here remains remarkable. Lunch menus include not just omurice but also curry and polonaise, all with sets priced in the 1,100 yen range. The dinner omurice set with all-you-can-drink option is also affordable at 3,800 yen. Whether you're a local or a traveler, this is a must-visit for the best value omurice in Fukuoka.

I often see delicious photos of "omurice" on SNS, and I have been curious about it for a while. I couldn't make a reservation, so I went to the front of the restaurant several times, but always gave up because of the long line. By chance, around 1:15 PM, there was no line. So, I went in. A kind lady welcomed me and showed me the lunch menu, which includes side dishes, soup, and a drink at a very reasonable price. I ordered the omurice (1,180 yen: cash only), and it looked delicious. Finally being able to try it made me excited. The omurice looked beautiful. It was slightly smaller than what I had at another restaurant, so I thought I could finish it. It was fun to cut into it little by little. When it was done, the egg was soft and the sauce, ham, and onion ketchup rice were all delicious. It's no wonder it's so popular. Even though I got full halfway through, I managed to finish it because I didn't want to waste any. The macaroni salad was tasty, the consomme soup was rich and surprisingly delicious, and the salad and pickles were also good. I chose orange juice as my drink. The omurice was enjoyable to eat, and having side dishes and a drink included at this price was great. I'm curious about the baked curry, so I might try it if I come across no line again.

I visited before the restaurant opened on Saturday. I arrived before 11 am, but there was already a line... I thought I would be able to get in after waiting for about 20 minutes based on other people's reviews, but I ended up waiting for 1.5 hours. When I finally got inside, I saw that there were only about 6 seats at the counter and tables combined, so I understood why there was such a long line. The omelette rice was fluffy and creamy, with a delicious demi-glace sauce. The staff seemed busy but provided polite service. Even though I would be willing to wait again for such delicious food, waiting for 1.5 hours was tough, so I am thinking of visiting on a weekday before opening next time. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I lined up with my parasol in hand. After feeling disappointed by a chain restaurant's omurice during a previous family outing, I did some serious research online to find a place with delicious omurice. It was worth the wait, as it was really tasty. However, my husband ordered a large portion, so he said it would be a while before we go back. I, on the other hand, would love to go back soon. Let's line up together again next time! 😊

It was before 1 pm on a regular weekday, but I waited for about 20 minutes. The menu had about four options, so I decided while waiting in line and as soon as I sat down, I placed my order. It was served in less than 10 minutes. The dish was very fluffy, and the three types of pickles were a great accent and delicious. However, the rice in the omurice was a lot! Surprising! Even though I went there hungry, it was a bit too much, so next time I want to order it with less rice. The gratin also looked delicious! The staff were very nice, and it was a cozy place where I could relax.

At Akasaka's "Lion Shokudo," you can enjoy a fluffy and creamy omurice that is always popular and the restaurant was full even on my 6th visit. The appearance is beautiful and it arrived all wobbly and jiggly! When you cut it open, the creamy egg spills out, and the rich demi-glace sauce is irresistible. It was very delicious and filling. The service was polite, the interior was clean, and it was a great lunch experience. The lunch set, which includes a drink, is 980 yen. They also have curry which smelled really good. The service was not too slow. Overall, it was a great lunch experience. - Restaurant Information - Name: Lion Shokudo Hours: 11:00-16:00, 18:00-22:00 Phone: 092-771-3824 Price: Omurice 980 yen Closed: Irregular holidays Private room: No Location: 1-3-12 Akasaka, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture For more details, search on Instagram ➡️ [ryoki.jp] Provided by: Ryoji Yoshida

I finally got to go to a lunch place that I always wanted to try but couldn't because it's always crowded. The food was delicious! Located in Akasaka, Lion Shokudo is a popular restaurant that opens at 11 AM. Despite the early hour, there was already a line forming. I ordered their signature dish, the omurice, which came with soup, salad, and three types of pickles for 880 yen. It was incredibly delicious! The portion size was generous, and I left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I hurried to the restaurant at lunchtime, but it was 90% full. The staff probably always say to customers, "We appreciate your patience as it may take some time for your food to be served. Is that okay?" Even so, I couldn't help but wonder how long it would take. Well, I was able to get a table and quickly ordered the omurice. It came out within a reasonable amount of time. The exchange at the entrance of the restaurant was a bit off-putting, but the food was fantastic. The omurice was perfectly fluffy when cut. I want to try the baked curry next time, but I hope I won't be stopped at the entrance again, as it would be a hassle.

I had the delicious omurice again this time, just like last time. The lunch set comes with salad, soup, and a drink. The omurice topped with fluffy and creamy eggs is a real treat. It was perfectly cooked and had a generous portion, making it very tasty.

I ordered omurice and bolognese this time at a popular restaurant in Akasaka where there is always a long line! The cheese was surprisingly strong and the portions were generous! The restaurant is famous for its omelet rice with a creamy egg omelet that is so popular people line up to try it. There are countless videos of omelets being cracked open, which may seem a bit excessive. Today, everyone ordering omelet rice seems to be recording videos too. The omelet rice and curry rice are both delicious and filling, but they don't have a special quality that stands out. The taste of the omelet, demi-glace sauce, cheese curry, and salad are all just simply delicious. Even though the restaurant is always busy, it's worth a visit to experience the satisfying moment when the omelet is perfectly cracked open.

I always wanted to go there, so I went nearby. However, it was too crowded and I had to wait for about 2 hours. The staff, only two of them, were working hard and seemed very busy. The food was delicious, and for 980 yen including salad, drink, and soup, it was incredibly cheap!

Work in Akasaka, Fukuoka City. Finished work in an area close to the usual activity area. (^_^)v Since I had the opportunity, I decided to extend my lunch break to the Tenjin area, where I don't usually go. My destination is "Lion Shokudo" restaurant. It's right next to "Kurodaya's Hakata Chanpon" restaurant that I visited recently. It's a place located at the corner of a crossroad south of the Fukuoka City Central Gymnasium on the east side. I arrived at 11:01, just after the opening time. It was a bit early for lunch, but when I entered, there were already 2 groups of customers. The restaurant has counter seats, four 4-person tables, one U-shaped 2-3 person table, and a capacity of 1. Since I was alone, I was guided to the counter seat. The counter seat, which is separated by acrylic boards, is spacious. (^_^)v I ordered the "Omurice (880 yen, tax included)" from the lunch menu. I had researched it beforehand, and the menu poster displayed at the entrance also had a copy saying "Lion Shokudo's proud Omurice"! It was my first visit, so I decided to try their signature dish... The serving time was about 25 minutes. When the dish was served, the restaurant was already full of customers. Even though it was still before 11:30, there were waiting customers outside the restaurant. It took some time for the dish to be served, but it was understandable considering the popularity of the place. Ultimately, the timing of having lunch was not much different from my usual time. The main dish of Omurice, along with two types of salad, cup soup, three types of pickles, and a drink were served on a tray. I requested iced coffee as my drink, which was the only option available. First, I took a picture of the dish. (laughs) Then, I cut into the omelet sitting on the ketchup rice with a knife. The fluffy egg spread on both sides of the ketchup rice due to its weight. The contrast of the abundant demiglace sauce surrounding it was visually appealing. The demiglace sauce was of a runny type. The combination of ham, onions, ketchup rice, fluffy egg, and demiglace sauce was delicious, which explained its popularity. It was nice to see chopsticks along with the knife and fork on the table. Especially for leafy salads, I find it easier and more enjoyable to eat with chopsticks. Was it just me? I wasn't in a hurry, but I finished my meal around 11:40. When I left, there were 9 people waiting outside the restaurant. Coming at 11 o'clock was the right decision. Thank you for the meal.

(2022.03.22) Whenever the topic of omurice comes up, the name "Lion Shokudo" always comes to mind. Today, I thought that since it was a weekday and if we avoided the lunch rush, we wouldn't have to wait too long. However, when I arrived at 12:50, there were about 7 groups of 14 people lined up in front of the restaurant... Knowing that this restaurant is popular for its omurice, I was aware that there would be many female customers. But most of the customers in line seemed to be college girls, making me realize that it must be spring break. I thought that if I waited for about 30 minutes, it would be fine, but the line was not moving much. After waiting for about 75 minutes, we were finally seated in the restaurant. Despite most customers coming in pairs, the restaurant was only seating 6 groups due to their COVID-19 prevention measures, which resulted in a long wait. Some girls seemed to have brought their boyfriends along, who seemed hesitant to order the omurice. Instead, they could choose from options like beef tendon curry, baked curry, or bolognese doria. However, I decided to go with the popular choice and ordered the omurice. The omurice arrived in just 5 minutes, and it was larger than I had imagined. It came with a refreshing lettuce salad, a peppery macaroni salad, and a set of pickles, which is unusual for omurice. When I cut into the fluffy omurice with my spoon, the scrambled egg inside was soft and creamy, blending perfectly with the ketchup rice. It was delicious with just the right amount of acidity.

I always saw the line and decided to go someday! I went at the opening time and was able to enter without waiting. I ordered the omurice, and as you can see in the photo, it was incredibly delicious. Everything was tasty, and I can see why there is always a line. The service was also good, and I think it's a good value for the quality. If you go, I recommend going early on a weekday. Thank you very much. I will visit again!

There is a Western-style restaurant diagonally across from the Akasaka Central Gymnasium, where on weekends, there are usually about 6-7 groups waiting in line, mostly young people. The popular dish seems to be omurice, so I decided to try it out. The interior of the restaurant is small, with about 5 table seats and 4 counter seats. There are 6 lunch options available, each comes with salad, soup, drink, and a small side dish. You can also order items individually. The omurice set costs 980 yen, featuring a large egg on top of demiglace sauce omurice. You cut a light slit in the middle to open it up. The small side dish was macaroni salad, which was more suited for adults. The hamburger set also costs 980 yen and was simply delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I realized that I haven't been eating out much due to the pandemic, so I traced back my memories to this place from April this year. There was quite a line outside. I went there because I wanted to eat delicious, creamy omurice. It was a really tasty place with incredibly creamy eggs.

Today I was in the mood for Western food, so I decided to visit this place for the first time! I was intrigued by the omurice based on the reviews. The interior had 2 counter seats and 5 table seats, and it seemed like they had reduced the number of seats due to COVID precautions. All the customers happened to be women, maybe just a coincidence! I was tempted by other lunch menu items, but ended up choosing the classic. I ordered the omurice (880 yen) which came with salad, soup, and a drink, so I chose iced coffee. I was served the omurice in about 10 minutes, and it was the type where the egg was runny when cut open! It was my second time experiencing this after Taimeiken, and I was impressed! The appearance was great, but how did it taste...? The demi-glace sauce had a hint of acidity and richness, the simple rice had a nice flavor of ketchup and acidity, and of course, the egg was as runny and flavorful as it looked! It was a dish that kids love and adults still enjoy... I initially thought about getting the large portion, but I was satisfied with the regular size. By the time I left, there was a line forming, so it seems quite popular. Next time, I'll try the bolognese doria or the chicken cutlet! Western food always gets me excited no matter how old I am... Bon appétit!

Baked curry for 980 yen. I had lunch here after a long time. They have added baked curry since they ran out of pasta. As a fan of baked curry, I didn't hesitate to order it. It came out faster than I expected. The salad portion was generous, which made me happy! The baked curry wasn't very spicy, but it was delicious in a safe way. This place has a charm in their Western-style dishes, so I feel like coming here occasionally.

This is my second post, but once again I had a sudden craving for chicken cutlet, so I arrived at Lion Dining. Every time, I end up hesitating between the famous omelette rice and chicken cutlet, but I gave in to the temptation of chicken cutlet this time... (⌒-⌒; ) The chicken cutlet is topped with demiglace sauce, which is not too heavy and can be easily enjoyed by women as well. The photo shows a large portion of rice! As expected, the chicken cutlet here is delicious (⌒▽⌒) Thank you for the meal☆
