Charcoal-grilled chicken Mame
Today, sige and usagi had a meeting at JR Temma Station because sige had work in Umeda. We decided to meet at the perfect time. Since we wanted to try a new place for lunch, we didn't decide on a restaurant beforehand and just arrived at JR Temma Station. As we walked towards the north side of the station, we noticed a row of small, stand-like shops in narrow alleys. It was a nice atmosphere, and we thought we might have trouble choosing a restaurant, but as soon as we turned right, we found a place that caught our eye. We entered a cozy yakitori restaurant with two 4-person table seats and an 8-seat counter. The restaurant had a bar-like ambiance and didn't look like a typical yakitori place at first glance. As we entered, the staff greeted us with lovely smiles. I ordered a seasonal sour drink (citrus sour) and sige ordered his usual highball. Let the feast begin! We quickly ordered the appetizer of cabbage with sesame oil and salt, and then ordered seared chicken Tataki, grilled chicken tail, miso-marinated cream cheese, kuse cue, and a small salad. We also ordered a second round of drinks and more skewers. The skewers we ordered included minced chicken, chicken skin, knee cartilage, chicken tail, leek with chicken, chicken liver, and at tubu's request, seared tomato wrapped in ham. As we waited for the food to arrive, sige's "new place discovery sensor" was on high alert, and he chose the restaurant with confidence. The food started arriving, and we enjoyed dishes like kuse cue, miso-marinated cream cheese, and salad. The seared chicken Tataki was slightly undercooked for my liking, but the grilled chicken tail and knee cartilage were delicious. The miso-marinated cream cheese had a rich flavor, and the salad was perfectly seasoned. The grilled chicken tail with sweet soy sauce and ginger was a hit, and the chicken liver was rich and flavorful. The minced chicken skewer had a nice texture and flavor. As we enjoyed our meal, sige ordered another round of drinks, and I switched to freshly squeezed grapefruit sour. The skewers were cooked to perfection, with the chicken skin, knee cartilage, and chicken tail being highlights. The leek with chicken had a great combination of flavors, and the chicken liver was rich and velvety. The minced chicken skewer was a delightful melody of textures. Just when we were thinking of having one more drink before leaving, sige went into overdrive and ordered a bottle of high-end red wine. We also ordered seared bacon, which turned out to be delicious. It was a fun night in Temma that we won't forget. Charcoal-grilled chicken Mame - 3.61
