Since I was a child, Tsuruya has been around, so it has probably been in business for over 40 years. When it comes to chicken skewers, Tsuruya is the best, that's the common understanding in my family. Sometimes, you can come across chicken meat that smells like clay, which is really disappointing, but Tsuruya is fine. They handle it properly, and it feels clearly different from supermarket products. Maybe it's because of the impression I've had since I was a child, but I feel absolute trust and deliciousness in Tsuruya's chicken skewers. By the way, I don't buy pre-cooked products much. I buy the ones cut for yakitori. I usually buy 2 kilograms for my family of seven, skewer them, and cook them. I made a reservation yesterday and will pick it up today, so I will upload a photo later.

Kashiwa Tsuruya's fried chicken is a popular choice for us when transferring to the Hankyu train in Takatsuki. Made with chicken breast, it's a hit in our household. It became even more popular after being featured by Gen Hoshino on TV, but it's a local favorite. Takatsuki has many delicious delis, which is enviable. I had it at home, and it's perfect with beer. Both my daughter and wife are fans of this fried chicken. It looks delicious even if you buy the chicken and cook it yourself. #Available for takeout #Delicatessen

I bought some food at "Tsuruya Chicken Shop" in Takatsuki, Osaka. I found it on my way to Gyoza Heaven for lunch. The shop had a nostalgic feel to it, with a glass window where you could see the chickens. I had to wait for my order, which was worth it. I bought grilled chicken with bones, simmered chicken meat, chicken liver ponzu, and simmered chicken liver. The grilled chicken was a bit tough, but still good. The chicken liver ponzu had a refreshing taste, while the simmered chicken liver was rich. It was my first time trying simmered chicken meat, and it was delicious. Overall, I enjoyed my meal at Tsuruya Chicken Shop.

I came to the neighboring city of Ibaraki and stopped by this store in Takatsuki City to pick up some snacks for tonight. When I arrived, I was surprised to see a line forming outside the store! Looking at the refrigerated case, there was only one pack of steamed chicken and no liver simmered dish. I asked the staff and they brought out the liver simmered dish from the back for me. I bought two packs of steamed chicken (281 yen each) and two packs of liver simmered dish (281 yen each). I sprinkled a little rock salt on the steamed chicken and it was delicious! I crushed the liver simmered dish and enjoyed it in small bites or made liver paste to spread on bread, which was also delicious! It was a tasty meal. Thank you!

The food was so delicious that I drove all the way to Takatsuki (visited in one day). They are closed on Sundays but seem to be open on holidays. This time, I bought two steamed chicken dishes (including tax) for 281 yen each and two liver dishes (including tax) for 281 yen each. The liver dish includes liver, heart, and gizzard. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to play in Takatsuki and on the way back, I decided to stop by here because I had previously eaten delicious steamed chicken. I bought steamed chicken, large size (including tax 562 yen). They didn't have a large pack, so I bought two small packs which have the same amount. The chicken was tender, refreshing, and the taste of the meat stood out. It's really tasty when you sprinkle rock salt on it. I also bought liver simmered dish (including tax 281 yen) which contains liver and heart. It has a strong flavor and the liver's unique taste is addictive. If they are open on holidays, I might go buy some again. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

So, after enjoying coffee at Tanaka Coffee Roastery, I came here to buy today's snacks. I got the large size of fried chicken (476 yen including tax) - it had breast meat and was already seasoned. The tempura (476 yen including tax) was also good, with breast meat. I also tried a skewer (108 yen including tax) of steamed chicken, small size (270 yen including tax) - the breast meat was juicy and delicious! I might come back for this again. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, I had some errands in Takatsuki. After having tsukemen for lunch, I went to my parents' house. My mother, who had been hospitalized due to poor health, was discharged. Since the next day was Father's Day, I decided to buy some delicious food to celebrate! After visiting Matsuzakaya's basement food floor, I went to this longstanding chicken dish specialty shop near Takatsuki Center Street, which is for takeout only. It was my first visit since starting to use Tabelog. I bought some fried chicken (440 yen) and simmered chicken liver (250 yen) to cheer up my mother. I will add them to the dinner my father prepared! The simmered chicken liver had a delicious flavor with no unpleasant smell, cooked in a well-balanced sauce. It was so tasty! I will try to make it at home using this as a reference. The fried chicken had a Japanese-style flavor with a hint of ginger. The coating was not too crunchy, making each piece easy to eat. It was also delicious! My mother was happy too, which made me happy. On a side note, I once saw a truck parked in front of this shop early in the morning with live chickens on it. It made me a little uncomfortable, but at the same time, I was impressed that they use fresh chicken meat. I would like to visit this shop again. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On this day, after having lunch in Takatsuki Center Street, I had some time so I decided to explore the area around the street. I came across a retro building slightly off the arcade that looked like it had slipped back in time to the Showa era. The building had a sign that read "Kashiwa Tsuruya," so I quickly searched on my phone and found out that it is a well-known long-established chicken meat shop in the Takatsuki area.
At this shop, they sell grilled chicken and fried chicken for takeout as well. It was interesting to learn that in Kansai, Kyushu, and some parts of the Chubu region, chicken meat is referred to as "kashiwa."
The shop had a showcase with grilled chicken and fried chicken, and as I was looking at it, the owner asked me, "What would you like?" I decided to ask the owner about the shop, and he kindly shared a lot of information with me. "Kashiwa Tsuruya" is a 70-year-old long-established chicken meat specialty shop that sources young chickens from Nara and Wakayama, cuts them in the back of the shop every morning, ensuring freshness.
I purchased three items this time: - Grilled chicken thigh (2 pieces for 640 yen) - Chicken wings (4 pieces for 400 yen) - Fried chicken (small size for 220 yen)
I took these items home and reheated them in the microwave. The grilled chicken thigh was juicy and flavorful, with a slightly strong seasoning that was delicious. The chicken wings were simply seasoned with salt and had a nice texture and juiciness. The fried chicken had a soft and fluffy coating with tender meat and a hint of ginger flavor, making it very enjoyable.
All three items I purchased were delicious without any disappointments. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the takeout grilled chicken and fried chicken, which I had underestimated compared to supermarket deli items. It's no wonder it's a popular shop with a long history. I didn't have to wait in line this time, but I heard that it gets very crowded during the evening shopping hours. They are also famous for the long line during Christmas time. Perhaps "Kashiwa Tsuruya" is the go-to place for Christmas feasts in this area.
Although I didn't purchase them this time, I heard that their Tataki and Tulip dishes are also highly recommended. I would love to visit again in the future. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today, my husband's lunch for working from home was the "fried chicken" from Tsuruya, a specialized chicken shop in Takatsuki. Tsuruya is a go-to place for chicken dishes in the area. While you can also buy regular chicken meat there, we have only purchased processed chicken products before. So my husband bought the "fried chicken" that I love from Tsuruya and reheated it for me. It was served with baby tomatoes, kaiware radish sprouts, and boiled new potatoes with seaweed salt. It was a delicious and satisfying meal, with both meat and vegetables. Thank you for the meal. There is a quaint old shop in a shopping street in Takatsuki City with a line of people. Kashiwa Tsuruya is a shop that handles chicken meat and offers takeout. The shop gives off a vintage vibe, with chicken thighs being slowly grilled in front of the store. Although they had a variety of products, I ordered the grilled chicken thighs and chicken skewers being cooked outside. The chicken thighs were cooked slowly with far infrared rays, resulting in tender and delicious meat with a sweet and savory sauce. However, I started to notice a slight chicken smell halfway through. This old shop has been loved by locals for a long time, so if you happen to be nearby, why not give it a try? Thank you for the meal!

I casually stopped by before 11 am on a regular day. It's a shop that might be hard to find if you don't know about it, located in an old building. I got the fried chicken and bone-in chicken thigh to go. The bone-in chicken thigh had a great visual impact and was very satisfying to eat! The fried chicken was made with solid chicken meat and the more you chew, the more delicious it gets! It was a retro restaurant in Takatsuki. If I have the chance, I would like to try their steamed chicken next time. Thank you for the meal.

I went to the restaurant at 4:00 pm on a holiday, and as expected, it was a popular place! The fried chicken was sold out, but I was told to wait 15 minutes until a new batch was ready. However, I found chicken thigh pieces for 320 yen (tax included) each on the shelf, so I bought 2 and took them home. The meat was tender with good meat quality, and there were parts that were easy to cut with chopsticks. It was delicious, and the visual appeal of the meat made me even hungrier. It seemed like they were baked without seasoning, so I sprinkled some "Rokusuke salt" on them and enjoyed it. I would like to try the fried chicken next time, even if I have to wait 15 minutes for it.

I'm glad it was open! This is the well-known Osaka establishment "Kashiwa Tsuruya." It's a place known to those in the know. The chicken here is fresh and delicious, so many people come here to buy dishes like Tataki and liver ponzu. In the past, people used to devour bone-in chicken thighs like Luffy without a care in the world. But now that I'm an adult, it's embarrassing. So, here is the small portion of Kashiwa's fried chicken. Since it's made with chicken breast, it's not overly juicy, but the meat is flavorful because it's freshly prepared. This shop has been around since the post-war era, surrounded by buildings and apartments on both sides. It's the only place that seems frozen in time, maintaining its old-fashioned look. I wanted to try the steamed chicken and liver stew... In the past, when you ordered, they would cut up the chicken right there on the spot. I wonder if they still do that now... I hope this place continues to exist forever.

Visited in August 2019. When we walked in Takatsuki with my family, we passed by a shop that I feel like I've known since I was a child. "Kashiwa Tsuruya" is a long-established chicken specialty store that has been around for 70 years, and you can really feel the history from the exterior. The shop was featured on the ABC Asahi Broadcasting TV show "Narumi Okamura's Excessive TV," where it was talked about as the fried chicken shop in Takatsuki highly praised by Gen Hoshino. It seems to be a well-loved local shop, with locals lining up at Tsuruya even on Christmas. We passed by it when we held a Takatsuki meeting at "Nettai Shokudo." When my kids said they wanted to try it, we decided to buy a little bit to take home. What we bought was: - Chicken tempura (small) 220 yen - Chicken breast skewer 100 yen - Tulip skewer 100 yen I only tried the chicken tempura, and honestly, it was good but not as amazing as I expected. My family had similar reactions. It's a shop with many fans, so I think it's generally delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On a certain weekend, I stopped by a famous kashiwa specialty store to buy side dishes for lunch. They sell fresh chicken meat as well, and some nearby yakitori restaurants use their meat. However, I always buy their "cooked chicken dishes" such as fried chicken, grilled chicken thighs, chicken tataki, and chicken liver simmered. I was excited by the variety of options available on that weekend afternoon. I bought two pieces of grilled chicken thighs and chicken liver simmered. The grilled chicken thighs were surprisingly tender and delicious. I definitely want to come back for more. A cool shop in Takatsuki's shopping district. I bought a small portion of fried chicken. It was made with thigh meat. Just the right size for a quick snack.

Next to the arcade street, there is a shop in a traditional townhouse where you can feel the history. I ordered a small portion of grilled chicken thigh and fried chicken for about 600 yen. I brought it home, heated up the grilled chicken thigh and made it crispy, and also made the fried chicken crispy. Eating it with salad, mayonnaise, and yuzu pepper was incredibly delicious. The slightly burnt flavor of the grilled chicken thigh was particularly good. The fried chicken was small and firm, with a rich flavor. My wife and I agreed that if you're going to eat here, you should definitely try the grilled chicken thigh. It was a hot summer evening, and it was a delightful meal.

In the evening, there were already about 5 groups lined up at the store. I bought various dishes such as liver and fried chicken. The taste was quite ordinary. I felt that the customer service was not good.
