I went to have yakitori at a restaurant near Hakata Station on a night when I didn't feel like doing anything. It had a comforting, old-fashioned atmosphere that I used to enjoy, but this time it felt like something was missing. The menu seemed to have shrunk and some of the yakitori that came out were a bit cold. The sesame mackerel was like a piece of scrap mackerel and not tasty at all. It's disappointing to see the restaurant change like this, and I might not go back again...

We went to the popular casual Japanese restaurant Hikari for the first time. Then we visited Nobunaga Honke for the first time in a while. We ordered a lot of food but only managed to take a photo of one dish. We ordered pork belly, shiitake mushrooms, grilled fish, skin, gizzards, shishamo, onions, okra rolls, gizzards, onigiri, and various other dishes. One highly recommended dish is the grilled fish.

I only eat ramen set meals at this restaurant! But today, I only had ramen! I had a bento earlier and it wasn't quite enough, so I stopped by for some ramen! The set meal comes with rice, 3 pieces of fried chicken, and cabbage for an additional 200 yen. But today, I only ordered the ramen, so no cabbage! I prefer it that way! I found it strange that they put cabbage in the ramen. The ramen here is not bad, with plenty of wood ear mushrooms. However, the soup was a bit lacking and the chashu was small. But for 550 yen, it's worth it. I'll come back here when I need a little extra after having a bento. It was just the right amount. Thank you for the meal.

I went on a business trip to Fukuoka with my company's colleagues and we wanted to have a drink nearby. It was my first time at this famous restaurant. It's hot, but when you come to Fukuoka, you have to have motsunabe. Beer and motsunabe are the best, haha. It was like sukiyaki style, and it was delicious. The champon for the finishing touch was like grilled ramen, so it was nice to have a different taste. We drank with 3 people and it was about 4000 yen per person. I will come again!

Located just a 1-minute walk from Hakata Station, this place is super convenient. I had some time before catching the Shinkansen, so I wanted to eat yakitori and motsunabe. I saw on Tabelog that they have 250 seats, so I thought I could just walk in without a reservation since it's a chain? But just to be safe, I made a reservation for 3 people. When we arrived, it wasn't full, but there were reserved seats and it was pretty busy. I underestimated it. It's better to make a reservation. This restaurant allows you to order motsunabe for one person. (There are multiple flavors, and the spicy one requires a minimum order for 2 people.) We shared it between two of us. I was happy that we could try a little bit of everything. We ordered the soy sauce base. There was a lot of motsu in it, no smell, and the cabbage was sweet and delicious. The yakitori included pork belly, pork skin, and chicken skin, giving it a Hakata touch. They were all delicious. We also ordered grilled rice balls, which were surprisingly sweet... (like mitarashi dango level). I was surprised how different Kyushu soy sauce can be! But when I had my friends from Hakata try it, they said it was a unique flavor of this restaurant. The grilled rice balls weren't bad, but it might be a hit or miss depending on your taste. Overall, it's cheap, delicious, has a wide variety of menu options, and I would definitely come back here when I want to eat around Hakata Station!

When it's not crowded, this place is decent. This was my third visit to this restaurant. I had to leave the second place without ordering because the service was too slow. So, I decided to try this place. The first floor was busy, so we were seated downstairs, which had a nice atmosphere. We ordered drinks and five skewers of yakitori each. However, the food took a long time to arrive. After 40 minutes, we asked a staff member and they said it was being cooked. By the time the yakitori finally arrived, we were already full from waiting. The skewers were decently tasty, but the ramen we ordered at the end was disappointing. It lacked flavor and was too bland. Despite the mixed experience, I like the ambiance of this place and may visit again in the future.

On April 3, 2023 (Monday), of course, it's time for another round of drinks, as my senior says. Even at this age, I can't go against my senior, that's what being a salaryman is all about (`・ω・´)キリッ So, we went down the stairs to the underground and arrived at "Nobunaga Honke Chikushi-guchi Branch." This is a place I only come to with close friends, it's our regular spot! Yay, senior ( ﹡・ᴗ・ )b☆ Cheers for the redo. *(ˊᗜˋ*)و Oh, there were four of us drinking, but one of us got mentally beaten up by the boss at the previous place and is now sulking while holding a table. Later, we saw a salaryman walking unsteadily like a drunk for the first time in a while, and for some reason, he left on his own before everyone else! I hope he's okay (。・_・。)ノ☘️ Ramen♬ My senior kept pushing me to eat, so even though I'm a light eater, I did my best. It was a surprisingly light ramen. This mediocre ramen somehow hit the spot! Indeed, even though I was already full, I managed to finish it. But seriously, I'm so full, senior. But since it was on their treat, ┏○)) アザ━━━━━━━━ス! I have a feeling that I'll come back here again. Thank you for the meal ( ﹡・ᴗ・ )b.

Brought by local friends to visit. Fukuoka has been crowded recently, and by the time we left, the restaurant was full. We ordered yakitori and appetizers, all of which were delicious and safe choices. It was a good place to go drinking with friends. They also had Kyushu regional dishes, like obaiken, which I had never heard of before, so it was a learning experience. I wished they had all-you-can-drink options, that would have been even better.

We decided to have a light drink at a bar in front of JR Hakata Station and randomly walked in. It's a place we occasionally visit because you can drink relatively cheaply. It was just past 7:30 pm on a weekday, and all the surrounding shops were full, so we were turned away from several places before luckily getting a spot at this one. The first floor is quite bustling, but the second floor is a bit quieter. There is a wide variety of menu options, so you can enjoy yakitori, fish, oden, and more while drinking. It's a bit disappointing that they only have Shiranami sweet potato shochu, but after finishing a bottle, we left the bar feeling a little tipsy.

It's been a while since my last visit. I arrived at Hakata Station before 5 pm from a business trip, but it didn't make sense to go back to the office and work for only 15 minutes, so I emailed my boss saying "I'm leaving early with flextime." Since I had some time, I decided to have some yakitori alone. The place was empty because it was early, but soon another customer arrived (laughs). Anyway, I started with a beer! I ordered two each of chicken thigh, chicken wing, and shishamo. While sipping on my beer, I snacked on some cabbage while waiting. Here it comes! Freshly grilled yakitori! Oh, the default for chicken thigh was sauce. I thought salt would be better, but it was my fault for not saying anything. The chicken wing was salty, so it's fine. I like the crispy skin of the chicken thigh, but the sauce was also delicious. The chicken belly was salty and had a lot of oil, making it healthy. I added two chicken livers and some daikon radish in oden. Oh, oden is delicious! (^▽^) I finished my beer, ate all the cabbage, drank all the oden broth, and the bill came to about 1,800 yen. It was still before 6 pm...

"Nobunaga Honke Chikushi-guchi branch‼️ This yakitori restaurant, where a grand procession can be seen, was packed with customers despite having a large number of seats, with staff bustling around❗️ I really wanted to try the motsunabe, so we ordered two servings of the black motsunabe. It seems that the sukiyaki-style motsunabe is popular in Kyushu. We also ordered a few skewers, motsu skewers, and aradaki. We washed it all down with beer and had a great time #HakataGourmet #HakataGourmetTrip #HakataGourmetClub #HakataGourmetLovers #FukuokaSightseeing #Fukuoka #FukuokaGourmet #FukuokaTrip #FukuokaDinner #NobunagaHonkeChikushiGuchiBranch #Motsunabe #BlackMotsunabe #Yakitori #Robatayaki #Aradaki"

A few years ago, we used this place for a Gundam drinking party, and now it has become his favorite spot. I never imagined back then that this guy, who is a Gundam otaku, would turn out like this. Fate is truly a mysterious thing. The first round was a draft beer for him and a highball for me. The seasoned waiter brought over the drinks, and just as my hungry friend was about to order food, the waiter said, "Well, let's start with a toast first." That's the kind of cool attitude that makes you fall in love with trendy places like this. The local favorite restaurant, beloved by many for years, has a knack for timing and atmosphere that goes beyond just serving food. My friend ordered all the food, and I honestly can't remember what we ate or how we ate it, but judging from the photos, everything was delicious. The crispy, sweet, and piping hot dish was so good that I thought I could eat 100 of them. I want to express my gratitude to both the restaurant and my dear friend for the wonderful meal. Thank you.

The restaurant was close to the station, so I decided to stop by after work. The inside of the restaurant wasn't too crowded, and even though it was a yakitori place, the smoke wasn't bothersome at all, which was good. The yakitori was delicious, with the chicken skin standing out as a great accompaniment to drinks. I also tried the Hakata specialty pork belly and sesame mackerel, but they didn't exceed my expectations in terms of taste. The total bill came out to around 6000 yen for two people.

Last time I came here, the shop was quiet, and this time it was also quiet. My colleague always brings me here, but I wonder if this place is really popular. He always says, "The pork here is a specialty," but the taste of the pork belly for 150 yen is just average. The lemon chu-hi is almost like syrup, very sweet. The prices are reasonable and affordable, but I still don't quite understand the charm of this place. The interior of the shop is quite spacious with different floors. The basement has table seats, the first floor has counter and table seats, I think? Maybe there's a party room for hot pots on the second floor or something. One thing I think about is, is this casual atmosphere the reason why it's non-smoking? The few old guys scattered around all look like heavy smokers (just my biased opinion). It would be nice if they could at least have smoking and non-smoking sections. But I guess this is the right way to go in this era. The cost performance and dishes here seem to be to the liking of us salarymen. I'll probably come back again.

I decided to go for ramen after all! I want to visit various places, so today I went to a long-awaited restaurant. The prices haven't changed. It's great value for money. I ordered rice with 3 pieces of fried chicken (comes with a mini salad). The ramen comes with ingredients like wood ear mushrooms and bamboo shoots. Quite luxurious, right? I didn't get an extra serving of noodles because the soup was a bit small. They're doing their best during the pandemic. It must be tough for the yakitori restaurant at night! Once again...thank you for the meal.

As soon as you exit Hakata Station Chikushi Gate, there is a yakitori restaurant that has been around for a long time (*^^*) Established 55 years ago! They have over 80 different types of skewers! You can casually walk in and enjoy delicious traditional yakitori. I have used this place many times before, but never took any photos or posted about it... This time, after several years, I decided to post about it (^。^) I had dishes like sesame mackerel, Satsuma chicken tartare, chicken skin, tsukune, pork belly, enoki mushroom wraps... I ate a lot (^-^)!! While I also enjoy creative yakitori, I must say that traditional yakitori is unbeatable (*^o^*)!

Moved from the neighboring motsu nabe restaurant to this yakitori place for our second stop of the day. Very reasonable prices here. Cheaper than Torikizoku, right? By the way, there is no Torikizoku in Kyushu. Had a few skewers of yakitori, potato salad, ikageso, and pickles. The yakitori was cooked perfectly and very delicious. The potato salad and other sides were store-bought, but that's okay because they are cheap. It's nice to be able to eat whatever you want at places like this.

I visited a restaurant near the station during my business trip to Hakata on the second night. I ended up here looking for a place related to yakitori and motsu. The restaurant had yakitori on the basement and first floor, and motsu on the second floor. The yakitori was delicious, and I also enjoyed Hakata specialties like sesame mackerel and chicken sashimi. Although the motsu was different from what I was looking for, I was satisfied with the variety of dishes. It was nice to encounter unfamiliar menu items like obaikke and okyuuto as well.

This is "Nobunaga Honke Chikushi-guchi Store" near Hakata Station in Fukuoka City. As you exit Chikushi-guchi, go down to the right underground for "yakitori", and go up to the second floor for "motsunabe". They also have "tonkotsu ramen", so they cover the charm of Hakata well. This time, I had "yakitori" downstairs. It was still early, so there were few customers. Almost like a private room. I started with a "draft beer" at a table seat. It's irresistible on a hot day. The food started with "sesame mackerel", a must-have when drinking in Hakata. The sesame is plentiful, and the mackerel is fresh and fatty. Then, I had them grill "chicken skin", "gizzard", "liver", "thigh meat", and "squid". It's simple but well-done, with perfect seasoning. When I ordered shochu on the rocks, they said the "nikujaga" was just ready, so I added that to my order. It has a warm and gentle taste, like a cozy home-cooked meal. I started to feel good, but decided to finish up quickly before more customers arrived. Delicious drinks and food. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by for a quick drink as I had some time before catching the train. I ordered the assorted skewers and the Nobunaga set. The Nobunaga set included sesame mackerel, okra, and mentaiko, all of which were delicious. The okra in particular was so good that I finished it quickly. I also ordered a set of 10 yakitori skewers, all of which were perfectly seasoned with salt. Feeling a bit adventurous, I added wild boar skewers, deer skewers, and pig's feet to my order. Everything was tasty and satisfying. However, I ended up eating too much and couldn't order ramen as my final dish... Next time I visit, I'll make sure to plan ahead and order ramen for my last dish!
