I saw this place while out and decided to buy some. Later I found out that they are famous for their tarts. I bought the "Kuritaihaku" for 700 yen, which came with three pieces. I tried them with my family, but they didn't really stand out. It might be good for chestnut lovers, but they didn't have any distinctive features. This shop is definitely known for their tarts.

I have seen this at Naha Airport shops before, but they said it was not among the products available this time. I chose the limited edition Berry Chocolat. It is a rare cake with a sweet and sour strawberry and rich chocolate. It's like a mini parfait decorated with couverture chocolate and strawberry confiture, and I enjoyed it deliciously with a spoon.

Festivalo is a shop I discovered in Kagoshima a while back when I was a JR paper reader model. At that time, it wasn't in Fukuoka yet, but now they have opened several stores there, including one in Hakata Station. They use sweet potatoes, a specialty of Kagoshima, in their sweets, and I've tried various ones. They are moist with a nice sweetness, and the prices are reasonable. They make great souvenirs. Today was my child's school presentation, and I barely made it on time. I couldn't get a seat near the front, so it was a bit far... My grandmother and mother came with me. I heard that my child had two lines, but I only understood one... But they sang and moved confidently, and I could tell they did well. Amazing, right? And the first graders are so cute! They sing in harmony, and their voices are too adorable! I've heard that in rural schools, some kids may not be as good, but the kids at my child's school are simple in a good way and lovely. I hope we don't have to move... I've reduced my medication to just at night, and it seems like my symptoms have improved a lot. Ah, I'm grateful for my health.

In the underground sweets corner of the Daimaru department store in the bustling district of Tenjin in Fukuoka, there is a shop that specializes in sweets made from sweet potatoes, with its main store located in Kagoshima prefecture. The items I purchased this time were the Karaimo Le Cake Lovely and Sweet Potato. The Karaimo Le Cake Lovely is a moist and smooth-textured confection that brings out the sweetness of sweet potatoes very well. The Sweet Potato is shaped like a sweet potato, with plenty of moist sweet potato filling in a lightly browned crust.

I received a rare cheese tart with sweet potato. Sometimes when people praise a snack made with sweet potato, they say it tastes like sweet potato, but then I think, why not just eat sweet potato itself? However, this tart was properly made with sweet potato, reducing the strong sweet potato flavor. It wasn't too sweet, and I couldn't even taste the almond powder that should be in it. But even though I didn't notice it, as someone who doesn't particularly like sweet potato snacks, I relatively enjoyed it, so maybe the almond powder is quietly playing a role. One thing to note is that it is wrapped in aluminum foil, and if you hold it while eating, the heat from your hands transfers to the foil, making it lukewarm, so it's better not to hold it... The instructions also warn not to hold it because it's dangerous. It's also good that there are no unnecessary additives. Since it's frozen, I think it's best to eat it when it's partially thawed in hot weather.

In the center of Fukuoka, in the Daimaru department store basement in the Tenjin area, there is a sweet potato cake shop from Kagoshima. While killing time browsing around, I tried a sample of their limited edition product called LIND, and I really liked it. It has a nice sweet potato aroma and flavor, but it's not too sweet. The taste is refreshing. The price is 1520 yen for an 8-piece box, which is reasonable. Additionally, they provide dry ice for a 6-hour journey if you want to take it home, making it a great souvenir option. It may be a bit unusual to bring Kagoshima sweet potato cake as a souvenir from Fukuoka, but it's delicious, so why not?

This is a specialty shop for sweet potatoes in Kagoshima. Years ago, I used to look forward to receiving Festivaro's sweet potato cake as a souvenir from Kagoshima. Recently, while wandering around Daimaru, I found Festivaro here! I bought it right away. The most popular sweet potato, Karaimo Lovely, has a smooth texture like raw sweet potato, and at our house, we freeze it and enjoy it in a semi-thawed state. Also, I look forward to the limited edition Mont Blanc that comes out in autumn every year. It's like being happy that I can eat my favorite sweets anytime, but also feeling sad that the Kagoshima vibe is fading...笑
