I finally purchased the cookie tin from Taiyo no To that I had been interested in for a while. Among the various options, I chose the original Taiyo no Kankan cookies that had been featured in magazines. The packaging is cute and when you open it, the illustrated cookie tin is also very charming. It contains 10 different cookies, making it hard to choose which one to eat. When I tried them, they all had a delicious buttery aroma. The cookies have a good shelf life, making them a perfect treat for yourself or as a gift. They were so delicious that I plan to use them as a gift for my friends. Thank you for the delicious cookies.

I went to a bakery around 4 pm and bought a raccoon cream puff, a white strawberry tart, and an apple chocolate. I was aiming for the blue strawberry can, but it was sold out, so I went back the next day when they opened and got it. The raccoon cream puff had a buttery head and custard in the body, as explained by the kind lady at the shop. It tasted better than I expected. The chocolate was quite dark, so it didn't look very appetizing, which was a bit of a shame. The white strawberry tart had a good balance of flavors, even though the strawberries didn't look very ripe. The tart crust was buttery and delicious. The apple chocolate had disappointingly Chinese apples, but the taste was good. The three flavors of cinnamon, milk, and bitter chocolate were enjoyable. As for the blue strawberry can, it had a lovely aroma of dried strawberries when opened. The chocolate had crispy cookie (feuilletine) inside, and it was very good. Plus, the can itself was cute, so it would make a great gift. Highly recommended!

I often go to Hankyu department store, and as a non-drinker, I usually buy snacks like egg rolls and tempura from the ethnic food corner with Vietnamese, Mexican, and Thai cuisine options, and then head to the alcohol section to buy a drink. I had never been to the Sweets Street section before, but today I happened to walk by and saw a sign for the Sun Tower, which seemed more surreal than retro. It felt like a suspicious Showa-era paradise that could only exist at Hankyu. The cookie tin seemed popular, but since I already have plenty of cookies and chocolates from Valentine's Day (which I definitely won't be receiving), I asked the staff for recommendations and ended up buying a white strawberry tart and a tanuki cake (which is actually a Mont Blanc cake here). The white strawberry tart was a bit messy, but it was expected and not a problem. The tanuki cake was lively and fun, with a choux cream base covered in chocolate to look like a tanuki, with chestnuts inside. The cream was a bit heavy, but overall, it was a unique and surreal snack with a retro Showa feel.

I remember the nostalgic store name that reminds me of the old expos. It has a very impactful presence, making me stop in front of the showcase. When I later looked it up online, it seems to be quite a quirky store, but this store in Hankyu Department Store is actually quite normal. However, the cookies... They have quite an impact. I couldn't help but buy them. According to magazines like "Shufu no Tomo," they are famous as souvenirs. Most cookie assortments are neatly arranged in a can with dividers, but this one is a mix of various cookies all together. This may be the charm of Osaka. I tried the Flower Chocolate Nut and Drenched Cherry flavors, and they have a gentle buttery taste with a moist and crumbly texture rather than crispy. The can is small but seems to contain quite a lot without dividers. Plus, the retro design gives off a Showa era or even Taisho era vibe. I would like to try their fresh cakes at the store someday.

The basement first floor of Hankyu Department Store, "Hankyu Food Hall," has created a "Sweets Street" that spans about 100 meters in the western confectionery zone. The first permanent store in the department store, "Taiyo no To Western Confectionery Shop," has also opened. I visited to buy a Swan Cake "Swan Blanc" to celebrate my birthday. However, when I arrived at the Taiyo no To Western Confectionery Shop, I couldn't find the Swan Cake in the showcase. I asked the staff and they informed me that they no longer sell it at the store. Feeling a bit disappointed, I decided to purchase a Pudding a la Mode for 700 yen and a Gateau Chocolat for 536 yen (total 1334 yen including tax). When I tried them at home, the Gateau Chocolat had a rich and bitter chocolate coating with a moist chocolate cream and sponge that was sweet and flavorful. The Pudding a la Mode had a smooth and flavorful pudding garnished with orange, cookies, and topped with cherry, kiwi, pineapple, and peach in a container filled with mildly sweet whipped cream. Both were delicious, but I really wanted to try the Swan Cake (laughs).

In the newly renovated Depachika at Hankyu Umeda, a rare and cute Swan Cake has made its debut! Among the countless genres of cakes available in the Depachika, I had never seen a Swan Cake before, so it seems quite rare. The wings of the swan are made of crispy meringue, the body is a fluffy roll cake, and the cherry on the chest gives it an elegant touch. This cake is on the sweeter side, but I believe that this retro deliciousness is one of the charms of the Taiyo no To bakery. Their main store in Naka-Meguro, a fierce cafe battleground, is also retro and cute, so it's worth checking out. I'm curious about their other rich chocolate cakes and tarts, so I will definitely be a repeat customer.

I visited the newly opened Hankyu Department Store on April 6th, where the 100-meter long Sweets Street was crowded with people. I purchased cakes from a shop in Nakazakicho and brought them to Hankyu Department Store. The cakes I bought were Swan Blanc (621 yen), which is a roll cake with strawberry cream and meringue, and Swan Noir (621 yen), a roll cake with strawberry and chocolate cream with cocoa meringue. I also bought a White Strawberry Tart (891 yen) and a Fruit Tart (581 yen) with strawberries on that day. The cakes from Swan were more delicious than the tarts!

I received this as a gift from someone I am grateful to. The cancan is very cute, like a piece of pottery by a ceramic artist. The polvoron is lemon-flavored, sweet and crispy, with a refreshing aftertaste. It doesn't contain any additives, so it's safe to eat. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the meal.

I also wanted to try the cookies, but the can design was so lovely that I couldn't resist. Finally, I was able to buy it. When it arrived and I saw the actual product, the cookie can was indeed beautiful. As soon as I opened it, a delicious cookie aroma filled the air. They were all tasty. The unique hand-shaped cookies were also delicious. The different can designs were also lovely, so if I have the chance, I would like to get more.
