Now, when I returned from Temma to Nihonbashi and headed towards Azabu, I decided to visit the yakitori restaurant that caught my eye yesterday. Unfortunately, it was already closed. Although Atarigoya Shokudo was still open, I had been avoiding yakitori restaurants until now, so it was a good opportunity to try a new place. The neighboring yakitori restaurant, Enya Namba, caught my attention. I entered the restaurant and was seated at the counter near the entrance.
Manager: The last food order is at 11:30 PM, is that okay? Drinks are available until midnight.
I quickly checked the time on my phone and saw that it was 11:20 PM, so I had plenty of time.
Me: I just want to have a light drink and then head home, so that's fine.
I ordered a draft beer and was served cabbage, tofu with minced chicken, and a plum-flavored chicken skewer as appetizers. I then looked at the menu and decided to order one skewer of each: seseri (chicken neck), negima (chicken and leek), sasami (chicken tenderloin with plum), tsukune (chicken meatball with sauce), soriresu (chicken tail), and furisode (chicken wing).
The skewers were all well-cooked and flavorful, but after my sixth meal of the day, I was quite full. However, I managed to finish the complimentary ice cream dessert that was served after the meal. The dessert goes to a separate stomach, right?
The manager, who initially seemed a bit cold, turned out to be a nice person when I chatted with him alone at the end. As I left the restaurant, the staff even came out to give me a candy and saw me off until the corner. The delicious skewers, along with the energetic and excellent service, make this restaurant popular. I look forward to visiting again with a bigger appetite next time.
Stay tuned for the final day, the third day of my Osaka tour, to find out which restaurant I visited next... But I won't tell you just yet!
