I was planning to catch the 6:30 pm bullet train and have some persimmon leaf sushi and beer for dinner, but I arrived at Namba Station earlier than expected and found myself drawn to this restaurant. There were tables outside where you could eat (they had egg oolong tea simmering in an electric pot), but there was also a second floor. I ordered "4 pieces of pan-fried soup dumplings (380 yen)" and headed upstairs. The middle had tables, and there were counter seats along the wall. The menu had photos, making it easy to order. I told myself "I'll just have the soup dumplings since I'm planning to eat persimmon leaf sushi," but as I waited, the pan-fried soup dumplings arrived. Of course, I also ordered a draft beer (290 yen). There was a sign on the wall that said "No biting allowed!" and instructions on how to eat the dumplings. First, you poke a hole with chopsticks and press down with a spoon to collect the amber-colored soup. Sipping the soup, I thought, "Wow, this is delicious!" The dumplings were firm and not greasy, unlike any I had tried before. They were really good! As I ate, my appetite grew, and I thought, "I want at least one more dish." Everything on the menu looked delicious, but I decided on the spicy tofu noodle salad (380 yen). And, of course, I had to order another beer since mine was gone. The salad was also delicious. When I ordered, the staff, who all seemed to be from Taiwan, asked me, "A little spicy? Spicy? Which one?" I requested "Very spicy!" but it turned out to be just moderately spicy. It was tasty, and I kept eating. I felt like I could eat one more dish, but I had to save room for the persimmon leaf sushi. The total bill was 1340 yen. For lunch that day, I had fried tofu udon and one draft beer for about 1500 yen, so this meal felt like a better deal. It was a delicious feast!
