It's rare to find an izakaya that specializes in zosui (rice porridge), with the main branch located in Miyazaki but with a solid presence in Nakasu as well. I visited for a second round and had the Asparagus Bacon Stir-fry, Dashimaki Tamago (rolled omelette), Nira Tori Zosui (rice porridge with leeks and chicken), and Mentaiko Cheese Zosui. The zosui here is really delicious. Apologies for forgetting to take photos of the dishes.

In Nakasu, the famous place for zosui (rice porridge) is "Yamahan" Hango Zosui, but this place is open until 5 in the morning! You can come here even after a night of partying! The best zosui in Hakata is definitely with mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and cheese, right?♡

The vinegar seeps into my drunk body, delicious. The main attraction, the porridge, I tried a variation with curry, cheese, and mentaiko. My companion had curry, cheese, and natto. Surprisingly, the curry base was delicious and I finished it all in one go. In Nakasu, you can enjoy not only pork bone ramen but also porridge as a finishing touch. Thank you for the meal.

We had no prior information, but we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of Zousui dishes available. The flavors were gentle and satisfying. We originally wanted to go to a nearby rice ball shop, but it was full. However, that led us to discover the Zousui here, and it felt like fate.

I had always been curious about this restaurant, and I finally went there with friends after a drinking party! From the exterior to the interior, "The Showa" is a restaurant that really appeals to me as someone in my 50s. And the menu! There are so many types of zosui (rice porridge) that it's overwhelming. Although they do have recommended options for those who are indecisive, the variety is extensive! And there are toppings too! I ordered the ★Mentaiko Cheese Zosui for 1375 yen with toppings of salmon for 220 yen and butter for 110 yen. My friends ordered the Okura Ume Zosui with natto and another topping. Since we had been drinking, we could have made it healthier if we wanted. I prefer hearty toppings, so I chose my favorite ingredients. While looking at the menu, I discovered that there are various types of dashi broth available, such as curry, cream, and tomato base, which can turn the zosui into a Western-style dish. It's so much fun! The appetizer menu is also extensive. We enjoyed the stir-fried kamaboko while waiting for the zosui. We shared the shochu that my friend had brought, and the kamaboko was surprisingly delicious! It was just stir-fried, but it tasted amazing in this atmosphere with everyone. After a short wait, the zosui arrived. The zosui came out in a hot iron pot, bubbling away. I had the mentaiko and the butter melted beautifully! If you're looking for a way to end your night in Nakasu, I highly recommend trying the zosui at this long-established restaurant! Finally, our senpai treated us, and we wrapped up the night! I can't wait to go back!

My leek and chicken zosui arrived in a small iron pot. The egg yolk was between raw and half-cooked. Personally, I prefer the zosui to be cooked a bit more. Maybe I took off the lid too soon? The broth was plentiful and delicious. The refreshing taste of chicken and leek was nice. It was tasty and went down smoothly, warming my stomach. Eating Zosui at Oto Oto Zosui no Mise Nakasu branch
In Nakasu, some people say that the best way to end the night is with udon, ramen, or katsudon. But there are others who swear by zosui! I've tried Han Gyo Zosui before, but this time I was taken to a completely different restaurant. Since I was already a bit tipsy, I didn't feel like going through the menu, so I went with the classic choices of chicken and leek zosui and mentaiko cheese zosui. As a side dish, we ordered asparagus bacon.
Even though we had already eaten and drank a lot, we found ourselves ordering more food at this new place. Before we knew it, the asparagus bacon arrived. It was surprisingly delicious. As I get older, I find that I prefer vegetable-based dishes as sides. Soon after, the chicken and leek zosui arrived. It was not too heavy and had a nice light flavor. It was the perfect way to finish the meal.
Feeling a bit adventurous, we also ordered another zosui - the mentaiko cheese zosui. It had a rich and flavorful taste, different from the first one. We managed to finish everything, even though we were getting quite full. Overall, it was a great meal!

Late-night specialized zousui shop in Hakata❣️ When in Hakata, you end up eating and drinking a lot and having a great time, not even knowing how many places you've been to and your stomach is at its limit. But this zousui had barley in it, and the soup and rice were light and easy to eat, as you can see in the photo. It revived me. Oh, please add another beer. I tried the popular toppings (chicken leek and mentaiko something) with the zousui. I want to try them all. A zousui shop that seems common but is actually hard to find.
