I was drawn in by being ranked 2nd in the country and 1st in the region! I purchased soft serve ice cream, grilled corn, and iced coffee. The soft serve (made with fresh milk for 400 yen) was truly exquisite! I love soft serve ice cream and have tried it at various tourist spots, but this one stands out! The grilled corn was also delicious with a nice aroma. The iced coffee was organic and generously sized, making me very satisfied. If I have the chance to visit Lake Shikotsu again, I will definitely revisit this place. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, there was quite a line, but surprisingly there were empty tables inside the restaurant. They served drinks quickly after ordering, which was convenient. They have cute drinks and a variety of soft serve ice cream flavors perfect for summer, making you want to try them all.

I came to try the second best soft serve ice cream in the country, which was featured on TV. I don't know where Iwase Farm is, but as long as it tastes good, that's all that matters! There were a lot of people around Lake Shikotsu, but I was able to buy it easily. Oh, this is delicious. It's rich in milk but light at the same time. By the way, where is the number one soft serve ice cream in the country?

After a long time, I made a one-hour trip from Noboribetsu in search of the salmon tartare mustard fry that can only be found here, as well as the second-best soft serve ice cream in the country. Although the place was supposed to open at 10:30, it was already open at 10:00. I was eager to try the salmon fry, but they didn't have it. When I asked the staff, they explained that their salmon supplier had quit, so they couldn't offer it anymore. I felt a sense of despair. After some thought, I recovered enough to enjoy the soft serve ice cream, which was truly exceptional. The difference in milk quality was evident, and it was outstanding. However, since they no longer had the salmon fry, it would be difficult for me to visit again.

The soft serve ice cream at the souvenir shop by Lake Shibukawa had a particularly long line!! I was curious so I lined up to buy one. This is the power of marketing through POP (point of purchase)!! Everyone is drawn to this, it's wonderful♪ Besides the classic Milk flavor (400 yen), there were quite a few other options. Maybe around 10 different flavors! The Milk flavor was smooth and had a strong milk taste! It was delicious soft serve ice cream♪ There were many other flavors that caught my eye, so it might be good to share and try them all. Thank you for the meal (*´ω`*)

Here is a row of shops in the souvenir street of Lake Shikotsu. I visited for the popular soft serve ice cream. The soft serve ice cream from Iwase Ranch is a popular award-winning item. The taste is a light and refreshing milk flavor. It is a type that can be eaten easily as it is low in fat. I prefer a stronger milk flavor, but on a hot day, something light like this seems good! However, the cheap taste of the matcha syrup it was topped with, so I recommend the simple soft serve without any toppings!
Menu I Tried on That Day:
Iwase Ranch Matcha Milk - 500 yen

While on the way from Sapporo to New Chitose Airport, I made a stop at Lake Shikotsu. After enjoying a water tour boat ride and immersing myself in nature, I came across a sign for soft serve ice cream. To my surprise, it was ranked 2nd nationwide and 1st in Hokkaido! Intrigued by the enticing words like "As seen on Matsuko's Unknown World!?", I decided to try it. The milk soft serve was unexpectedly not too sweet and refreshing, and it was delicious. Aside from ice cream, they also offered other snacks like grilled squid and roasted corn, which seemed perfect for a light snack. There was also seating available inside for dining in.

There is a delicious ice cream shop in Lake Shikotsu (^。^) There was a long line...(; ;) In addition to ice cream, they have a wide variety of items (^。^) Lake Shikotsu is a freshwater lake located in Chitose City, Hokkaido. It belongs to the Shikotsu-Toya National Park and is known as the northernmost unfrozen lake in Japan.

I was drawn in by a pop-up and suddenly felt like eating soft serve ice cream... but then I realized I had ordered scallops and squid. The smell of butter and soy sauce is so tempting, right? The soft serve ice cream was rich, not too sweet, and had a sticky texture - delicious. It's okay to come all the way to Lake Shikotsu to eat it. By the way, there are many restaurants in the tourist area of Lake Shikotsu that look delicious, which is rare in tourist areas like this.

I had some time before heading to New Chitose Airport from Sapporo, so I stopped by Lake Shikotsu! At Lake Shikotsu, I took a ride on a sightseeing boat with underwater views. It was quite enjoyable. Feeling a bit hungry, I bought some grilled corn at "Hekisui," the closest food shop to the lake. They use a special soy sauce, and it was really delicious! The lady there was very beautiful. Thank you for the meal!

Chitose, during the Lake Shikotsu Hyoto Festival, many shops are closed due to the coronavirus, so I was grateful to find a place that was open and serving light meals. It was nice to warm up here. They offer a wide variety of menu items, both sweet and savory. The dining area was clean and cozy, allowing us to relax. While you can also grab food to go and eat while walking around outside, after spending nearly an hour outside at the ice festival, I wanted to eat something warm in a place that wasn't freezing cold (laughs). The sweet potato mochi was surprisingly delicious! It had decreased quite a bit while I was using the restroom (laughs). Thank you for the meal!

The soba noodles, reminiscent of a certain green brand, were delicious even when cold. Drinks had to be purchased from the vending machine outside and consumed inside the shop (except for coffee, which was sold inside). The sweet potato mochi was tastier than expected, and the salmon with spicy mayo fry was also quite delicious. The food was served within about 5 minutes, so the speed of service was excellent. Due to the pandemic, most nearby shops were closed, so I am grateful that this one was open.

This is Lake Shikotsu. I was brought here to see the Shikotsu Lake Hyotou Festival. It's sad that the chip shop is closed and there are few tourists, making it quiet and lonely. The impact of the infection is significant. Have you ever seen the Shikotsu Lake Hyotou Festival? The venue, where ice columns are created by drawing water from Lake Shikotsu, features many impressive "artworks." The lake water is colorless and transparent, but when it turns into ice columns, it changes to a light blue color, creating the so-called "Shikotsu Lake Blue." Normally, there are shops inside the venue where you can eat and drink, but this year, due to infection control measures, they are not available. You can only get takeout from the food and drink street outside the venue. So, I bought a "grilled squid (750 yen)" at "Hekisui" to at least feel the atmosphere. The grilled squid, with a not too sweet sauce, has a firm texture, strong aroma, and delicious taste. It tastes even better when eaten on the cold lakeside. I hope that next year, the Hyotou Festival will be bustling again. Thank you for the meal♪

In Hokkaido during the summer, I enjoyed grilled corn at a tourist spot. The corn itself was very sweet, and it was even more delicious with soy sauce. No need for extra seasoning, it was already tasty. Plus, by Lake Shikotsu in the national park, the scenery was beautiful and peaceful, far away from the hustle and bustle of the world.

It was a long weekend so it was very crowded! I tried the melon mix soft serve ice cream that was highly praised by Matsuko in the advertisement, and it was delicious! The cheese potato mochi was also amazing!!! I also enjoyed other foods like yakisoba, grilled squid, and candied sweet potato, and I was very satisfied with everything I ate!!

Iwase Farm's soft serve ice cream, featured on the TV show "Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai," is ranked second nationwide. Unfortunately, it was raining at Lake Shikotsu and we couldn't see the scenery, but despite the light rain, I thought as a food blogger I should try some delicious food. When I went to the shop, there was a queue because a group of inbound tourists were there. The timing was just off. I tried the mixed soft serve for 300 yen. It was smooth, soft, and had a gentle milk flavor. The melon soft serve also had a nice melon scent and a refreshing taste. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today's final past log. The camera roll defaults to sorting by newest, but it's inconvenient that you can't rearrange it to be oldest first! This review is based on photos taken at Lake Shikotsu. I searched for "Lake Shikotsu Soft Cream" and this was the only shop that came up, so I'm posting my review here. I believe it's the only place that offers soft serve ice cream at Lake Shikotsu. I had the "Iwase Farm Soft Cream" and my companion had the "Mixed Soft Cream" (Iwase Farm x Yubari Melon). I usually prefer cup ice cream, but this time it was in a cone! I wonder when I'll visit Lake Shikotsu again. Maybe during Golden Week this year. Thank you for the meal.

I have a syndrome where I end up buying soft serve ice cream whenever I come across it at tourist spots, so I bought one before riding a pedal boat at Lake Shikotsu. Not related to food reviews, but riding a pedal boat (called "Amenbo") is fun, so I recommend it over duck boats. It's for two people! I bought it from a food stall outside, and it was just a normal soft serve. Just leaving this record here.

Next to the dining room Tonton at Lake Shikotsu is a shop that offers soft serve ice cream, sweet potato mochi, and more. While it used to be combined with Tonton, it now has its own separate registration. This was our first visit to the shop.
- Chocolate Sundae 450 yen
After enjoying a meal, this dessert is a must-try. The soft serve ice cream from Iwase Ranch, highly praised by Matsuko-san, is tempting, but the Chocolate Sundae is even more appealing. The soft serve is rich and creamy, making the sundae delicious. While it might feel a bit lonely without toppings like Pocky or cookies, it's still good.
They also offer yakisoba, grilled squid, corn, and more. There is seating available inside.
Thank you for the meal.

Iwase Farm's direct delivery soft serve ice cream is rich and very delicious. I wonder if it's because of the milk quality.
