A few minutes' walk from Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station. Had breakfast here today. The shop is a curry restaurant, but it's a bit unusual as it's open from 9 am to early afternoon. It seems to be a morning-oriented place run by an elderly couple. The main menu is curry, and you can choose your toppings. I had ham cutlet curry and wiener curry. You can choose between mild and spicy curry, so I chose mild. Let's dig in! The appearance is quite impressive, with a frankfurter-like wiener and a larger-than-expected ham cutlet. Both were piping hot and delicious. On the table, there were radish pickles, pickled radish, and onions. The curry, although mild, was about a level 1 in terms of spiciness compared to the popular curry chain. It had a fruity taste followed by a bit of heat, which I personally enjoyed. You can get a refill of the curry sauce, so I left half of my rice and got a refill. The lady then asked if I wanted to try the spicy curry this time. I agreed, and it was quite stimulating with more heat and a powdery texture. When asked how it was, I mentioned it was quite spicy, so she suggested mixing the mild and spicy curry. This level of service and consideration towards the customers, even towards a first-time visitor like me, was truly remarkable. This is not just a great curry place, but a fantastic restaurant overall. So, thank you for the meal! The taste of the curry was excellent, but the hospitality and service were even better. Although the elderly couple running the place may not continue for many more years, I truly hope they can keep this wonderful restaurant going for a long time.

A curry restaurant located near Honmachi, heading south from Osaka Umeda. This is a rare place that opens from 9 in the morning, making it convenient for breakfast. It has been selected as one of the top 100 curry restaurants. The curry has a simple roux base with various vegetables and spices blended in, resulting in a rich and deep flavor. There are two types of roux available, mild and spicy, and you can inform the friendly lady your preference. The toppings are plentiful, such as cutlets, fried items, hamburgers, sausages, etc. This time, I ordered the chicken cutlet curry for breakfast. The cutlet was quite generous in size, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, very delicious. You can get a refill of the roux, and I initially ordered mild but switched to spicy for the refill. The spicy one had visible chili peppers and was quite spicy, but it might be even more delicious. They are open from morning until lunch, making it a great place for a quick and simple curry meal. Thank you for the meal.

In the afternoon, I had work in Anjo Town, so I visited "Karairai Meshi" in Anjo Town. I used to go there quite often when I was working around Honcho before my transfer. When I arrived at the restaurant around 12 o'clock, there was a line on the stairs. But I was able to be seated in about 15 minutes, and I ordered the spicy chicken and sausage. Here, the side dishes include radish pickles, pickled onions, and mixed pickles, which are all you can eat. And for some reason, although extra rice comes with an additional charge, you can get free refills of the curry. It's been a while since I've eaten here, but it's still delicious. I deliberately changed the flavor to sweet for the refill and enjoyed the meal. The chef and the lady boss at this restaurant are both Tigers fans! Yesterday, the Hanshin Tigers won the Central League for the first time in 18 years, so I received a congratulatory gift when I paid the bill. I'll keep the contents a secret. Thank you for the meal.

I had some business in Sakaisuji-Honmachi and decided to visit this restaurant. It was just before 12 o'clock, so there was only one customer when I arrived, but soon more and more people started coming in, and by 12 o'clock, the place was almost full. I noticed that customers were choosing between mild and spicy curry sauce, and selecting toppings. I ordered the spicy curry sauce with tonkatsu. The lady at the restaurant mentioned that their mild sauce is actually quite spicy, so I changed my order to mild. I could hear the sound of tonkatsu being fried and the chef cutting it with a crisp sound. Finally, my meal arrived. The curry had a rich flavor and was delicious even though it was mild. You can ask for a refill of the curry sauce. The tonkatsu was crispy and not greasy. They also offer pickled onions, rakkyo, and fukujinzuke for free. It's a great restaurant.

Sometimes I crave morning curry. I go to see the aunt who says, "Our mild is spicier than others." Chicken curry for 900 yen. Spicy. Extra rice is +100 yen. Free refills of the curry. When you finish the curry, ask for extra sweetness! It's a fun restaurant.

A monthly visit to this restaurant. It is located near Sakaisuji Hommachi Station and Keihan Kitahama Station. They open at 9 am, making it perfect for an early lunch. The husband and wife who run the place are very friendly and enthusiastic Tigers fans. Today, I had the shrimp cutlet with an extra Vienna sausage on top. Everything here is delicious, but the Vienna sausage topping is especially tasty with just the right amount of saltiness. They offer both spicy and sweet curry, but even the sweet one has a bit of spiciness. You can get a refill of the curry once. Mixing the curries is also allowed. Even though the air conditioning is on, you'll still work up a sweat. Oh, and besides the Fukujinzuke and pickled radish, the sliced vinegar-pickled onions are amazing.

On Saturdays, I was indecisive about where to go for lunch, and before I knew it, time had passed. When in doubt, I always go to my usual spot, a curry restaurant run by a couple called Karai Meshi. I ordered a tulip with one wiener. They offer two types of curry, mild and spicy, and I always choose the spicy one. Having lunch here and spending the rest of the afternoon leisurely is my Saturday routine ❤️

Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 7, the high school baseball quarterfinals were postponed by one day, so I couldn't have the famous Koshien Curry. Feeling frustrated, I decided to have morning curry at Karai Meshi. I ordered the spicy chicken and wiener curry, which was truly the epitome of curry rice. The simple yet delicious chicken was a pleasant surprise. You can freely ask for extra curry roux, so I chose the sweeter option for my refill. Both were delicious versions of the ultimate curry rice. My stomach was full from the morning, but it was worth it.

I ordered the chicken and sausage curry with a mild taste for 1020 yen, but it was actually quite spicy. I was able to get more curry sauce, and the staff were very attentive and provided excellent service. The chicken and sausage were also delicious, surpassing the curry itself.

I've been curious for a while and finally tried the restaurant. The auntie there is the best, she remembers the regular customers' orders and explains the menu patiently to new customers. It's not just about filling your stomach, but also about uplifting your mood. It's a great dining place where service is top-notch. It's like a mirror for the service industry. I can learn a lot from it. 😊

Hello! It's Ramen Walking! Today is Curry Day~ I had the "Chicken and Wiener (1 piece) Curry" at Karai Meshi in Sakaisuji Hommachi. In the midst of summer, the classic choices are either "cold bukkake udon" or on the opposite end, "spicy curry." So, I decided to go to a famous curry restaurant! I arrived at 12:15 and had to wait for a bit as the restaurant was full. The restaurant operates on a self-service basis outside of the counter. While waiting, customers frequently move around to pick up their orders, carry their dishes, and get refills of curry roux. After about 5 minutes, I got a seat at the counter. I placed my order for the "Chicken and Wiener (1 piece) Curry" priced at 1,020 yen.
Curry Roux: There were two options, "sweet" or "spicy," and I chose "sweet" based on prior information that even the "sweet" option was somewhat spicy. It's a European-style curry, but it gradually becomes spicy towards the end! As you eat, you start to sweat a bit. The first bite is gentle, so you might not notice it's quite spicy.
Toppings: Wiener and tulip fried chicken, both were fried well with a crispy exterior. The wiener was juicy inside, and when you take a bite, the meat juice oozes out in your mouth. The fried chicken had an authentic seasoning, and both the wiener and fried chicken could stand on their own as main dishes rather than just side dishes for the curry. There wasn't much interaction with the curry, but I finished it soon.
Everyone seemed to order a refill with the "spicy" option, but I'll save that for next time as a new experience. Thank you, Karai Meshi!

This is a curry restaurant in Sakaisuji Honmachi. It's a rare Kanazawa-style junk curry in Osaka, run by an elderly couple. The cost performance is excellent, with free refills on the curry sauce. The people of Osaka are impressed by their business skills. The sweet and spicy curry was delicious, and the bone-in chicken was amazing. The onions were also incredibly tasty.

Arrived just before 10 am on a regular day. There were four groups of customers inside the shop. It seems like this shop opens at 9 am. The menu on the table says self-service, but since there were few customers, the staff brought it to me. I ordered the mild beef curry. The mild sweetness of the curry goes well with the spicy kick. The staff are like a friendly mom and dad, creating a cozy atmosphere in the shop.

I always try beef curry when visiting a curry restaurant for the first time. A friend recommended the chicken tulip, which was delicious. They offer one free refill of the curry sauce. I was amazed to see a large machine in the kitchen used to make curry. It was clear they put a lot of time and effort into making it. The restaurant is on the second floor of a building, so it may be a bit hard to find. The door is heavy, so be prepared when entering.

A friendly older lady greeted us and asked if we preferred spicy or mild curry. Both were delicious, but the spicy one had a nice kick that I enjoyed. They offer free refills on the curry, so trying both options is a good idea. I ordered the chicken curry, but next time I think I'll add sausage toppings. I will definitely be going back.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Sakaisuji Hommachi. Specializes in curry during the day and transforms into an izakaya at night. Visited right after opening. Ordered chicken curry and one sausage. This place offers free refills of curry roux. Chose the mild option. The curry is thin but flavorful with a good balance of sweetness and spiciness even in the mild version. The chicken didn't have a strong impact visually, but the sausage was quite tasty. The female owner, a Hanshin Tigers fan, provides a warm and somewhat nostalgic service with an Osaka touch.

A casual curry restaurant in Osaka run by a couple. They offer various toppings, but I chose the classic tulip and wiener set. It was delicious! You can choose between spicy and regular curry, and they offer free refills of curry sauce, allowing you to choose a different type than what you initially ordered.

"I ordered the 'Katsu Curry' (tax included 930 yen) with extra rice for 100 yen and chose the spicy option (this time spicy). The curry is not directly poured over the cutlet, which is good because I like to enjoy the crispy texture. The spiciness kicks in later, but it was bearable even for someone with a low tolerance for spicy food like me. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. I left feeling very full. Thank you for the meal."

Located in Sakaisuji Hommachi, "Karai Meshi" is a hybrid restaurant that serves curry for lunch and Chinese cuisine for dinner. The lunch curry is known for its delicious fried items, giving it a junk food vibe. The unique feature of this place is that it has become self-service. One of the great things about this restaurant is that you can get a refill of the curry sauce, with options for both regular and spicy versions. The curry here is addictive and delicious. Thank you for the meal. It was tasty.

It's been a long time since my last visit♪ A famous curry restaurant in Osaka where even Hanshin Tigers fans go!? But this time, I had a meal here in the morning and it was delicious (*^▽^*)♪ The curry here is known for being on the sweeter side, but still has a nice kick to it. I had the hamburger curry set for 730 yen. The curry had a nice nostalgic taste to it and was a bit spicy even though it was on the sweeter side. The service included pickled radish, Fukujinzuke, and sour sliced onions which helped refresh the palate. The hamburger was a bit dry and firm, I prefer juicier ones. Since it was before lunchtime, I was the only customer there, which allowed me to enjoy my meal while chatting with the owners about the Hanshin Tigers. Thank you for the meal!
