On this day, I had a meeting in Higo Bridge that ended at 6 pm. I had been working continuously since morning when I had breakfast in Demachiyanagi, so it was time for a combined lunch and dinner! I finally visited "Chuka Saikan Kaibinro" that I had always wanted to go to. Kaibinro used to be located in Sakaisuji Hommachi. I first visited it when I was in high school over 30 years ago, and my family and I have been regular customers. It was my late father's favorite restaurant. It's a cheap and delicious Chinese restaurant! The last time I visited was on December 26, 2014, for a family dinner with my mother, sister's family, and my family. I had been wanting to go back, but it had disappeared without me realizing it. I was disappointed, but later found out that they had relocated, so I waited for the opportunity to visit. The restaurant seems to have a slightly smaller capacity now. The decor has a more luxurious atmosphere than before! Here is what I ordered (including tax): - Sichuan-style miso stir-fried pork belly and cabbage (Hui Guo Rou) in a small size - Five-ingredient fried noodles with thick sauce - Small size crab omelette * The small size is about 70-80% of the regular portion. Hui Guo Rou is the signature dish of Kaibinro, I believe. The ingredients include pork belly, cabbage, green peppers, and leeks. The miso flavor is exquisite and really delicious! It makes you want to eat more rice! I felt like the spiciness was toned down compared to before. The five-ingredient fried noodles with thick sauce is also delicious, with vegetables and pork in the sauce. Both the sauce and the noodles are tasty! The crab omelette is another dish I always ordered when I visited! It's so soft and irresistibly delicious! I was so full after the meal! I wanted to try more dishes, but I couldn't eat that much alone, which was disappointing (laughs). The egg drop soup and sweet and sour pork are also delicious! I chatted with the two women who were at the register and also serving in the hall when I paid. They looked like sisters. Me: "I've been a customer since about 30 years ago when the restaurant was in Sakaisuji Hommachi! It's really nostalgic!" Woman: "Is that so!" Me: "When did you move to this location?" Woman: "It will be six years soon." Me: "Was the previous location moved due to the construction of a new building or something?" Woman: "My grandfather founded the restaurant when the previous building was built, and it's been 70 years, so we had to consider the facilities to continue the restaurant..." Me: "I see. Was the previous location on the 6th or 7th floor?" Woman: "It was on the 8th floor!" Me: "Ah, the 8th floor! The sign was right after you got off the elevator, right?" Woman: "Yes, that's right!" Me: "Can I take a photo for a keepsake?" Woman: "Sure!" Snap! Me: "Thank you! Are you closed on weekends now?" Woman: "This building closes on Sundays and holidays, but we are open on Saturdays!" Me: "I'll bring everyone next time!" I want to visit again! Thank you for the meal!

Today's weekday lunch was at "Kaibinro" located right by Higobashi Station. This restaurant holds a special place in my heart as it was one of the places my late father used to take our family for a meal on weekends. Although Higobashi Station and Honmachi Station are not stations I usually use, I made a detour to visit this restaurant. I ordered the daily lunch special for 900 yen, which was my first time trying it. It was a delicious and easy-to-eat ankake yakisoba. The soup was also very tasty. While I can't enjoy a variety of dishes with a large group like we used to in the past, I hope to visit with my family next time. Thank you for the meal. I paid in cash. The female staff's service was not good. She was too cold, unlike the elderly male staff.

I had the daily lunch special today. It was a stir-fry dish with pork and bamboo shoots. The bamboo shoots and pork were cooked in oyster sauce, not too strong or too light in flavor. It was delicious with a nice crunchy texture. The side dishes of fried wontons and squid tempura were also crispy and tasty. The soup, despite being a lunch soup, had a refined taste with a thick consistency. It was a very satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal.

It's located in the basement of an office building and not easy to find just by looking. I'm glad I knew about it, thanks to Tabelog (^O^) Took the elevator down to the basement... The daily special caught my eye, but I decided on my favorite dish, the hot and sour noodles! I missed out on having them the other day, so I didn't hesitate this time. The soup was thick and piping hot! I burned my mouth lol but I love eating things piping hot (^ω^) It had a good amount of pepper and a bit of chili oil, very delicious! I added some vinegar. I like sour flavors, I even eat dumplings with vinegar and pepper. I only added a little so as not to disturb the flavor of the restaurant. It was delicious. The young woman next to me ordered the hot and sour noodles as soon as she sat down and was struggling to eat them while they were piping hot. I'll definitely come back here. Thank you for the meal! [Station] About a 6-minute walk from Higobashi Station [Seating] Round table [Visit time] Around 12:45 on weekdays [Crowdedness] About half full [Dish] Hot and sour noodles [Price] 950 yen

First visit. Located in the basement of Higo-bashi Center Building. No wait around lunchtime. Ordered the daily special lunch, which was oil-drizzled chicken. It arrived in just over 5 minutes. Prices for dishes like sweet and sour pork had gone up slightly. The crispy oil-drizzled chicken was very satisfying. I'd like to visit again as it's close to my office.

Around 1:05 PM on February 26, 2022 (Saturday), I found a sweet and sour pork lunch set around here. I had been craving Chinese food. I really felt like having a straightforward Chinese meal. Sweet and sour pork... sounds good, right? With fried chicken and soup. This is the perfect set meal for sweet and sour pork, the ideal answer. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This is Higobashi. A building near Utsubo Park, a little north of Honmachi. Before the pandemic, I went to the Italian restaurant in the basement of this building, and it was quite relaxed at night. Since it's in an office district, I wonder if lunchtime is busy? In the same basement, there is a Chinese restaurant called "Chukasakan Kaibinro." The restaurant is quite spacious with table seats and round tables, seems to be focused on banquets. It has a long history, but the restaurant itself is clean and nice. Now, here are the lunch menu options: - Service Lunch: Ankake Yakisoba 750 yen - Tenshinhan 700 yen - Chuka Don 800 yen - Sweet and Sour Pork Lunch 900 yen - Kung Pao Chicken Lunch 900 yen - Sanratanmen 900 yen - Tan Tan Men 900 yen - A Lunch: Dim Sum Lunch 1200 yen - B Lunch 1700 yen Hmm, should I go for the 1700 yen B Lunch? It says it's popular for entertaining guests. After a while, the tray arrived. The rice portion is normal. (Not sure if you can get a large portion) The salad comes with Thousand Island dressing. For dessert, almond jelly is served. The Chinese egg soup is thick and delicious. The main dish is divided into 6 portions: spring rolls, sweet and sour pork, crab omelette, shrimp chili, stir-fried Chinese cabbage, and Kung Pao chicken. They are all decently tasty. But for this small portion, 1700 yen? Hmm... can it be used for entertaining guests during lunch? Also, the service is a bit weak, perhaps due to the age of the staff. It feels like they have a strange sense of pride lingering... Thank you for the meal.

It is located on the basement floor just a short walk from Higo Bridge. It is not directly connected to the station, but there are several tenants inside. It was cold, so I wanted something warm and gooey, so I chose Chinese food. Since I had been having noodles a lot, I opted for the Tianjin rice dish. The space used to be large enough for big parties, but now tables are spaced apart. It seems like it used to be a place for banquets. There is another Chinese restaurant nearby that caters to banquets as well. Since it was past the peak hours, I didn't have to wait long for my food to be served. The dish had eggs, as well as bamboo shoots, carrots, leeks, and shrimp. The sauce was plentiful and the egg soup was delicious. The eggs were not too firm and mixed well with the sauce, making it hot and tasty. The portion was a bit large, but not too heavy, so I finished it all. Thank you for the meal!!!

I suddenly felt like eating Chinese food. I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, but never had the chance to come. Since I decided on Chinese food, I decided to give it a try. It's located in the basement of a building, and the entrance has a high-class Chinese atmosphere. But when I saw the lunch prices, they were quite affordable. The set lunch was only 700 yen including tax! I was torn, but ended up choosing my favorite sweet and sour pork... The service was polite and sophisticated, with an adult atmosphere. The interior was also very clean. I placed my order and it arrived quite quickly. Fast service! Just as you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant! The set lunch came with soup and a side dish (tofu). The chicken broth soup was delicious! The tofu sauce was also tasty. I can eat rice with this (^0^) The sweet and sour pork was very refined, with a perfect thickness to the sauce, tender meat, and truly delicious. It was great! Next time, I'll try the daily special lunch. Thank you for the meal.

Near Higo Bridge and just west of Edobori 1, there are several dining options in the basement of a building. I have been working nearby for almost two years now, but this was my first visit to "Kaibinro," a Chinese restaurant. Personally, I feel that Chinese eateries are more casual, while Chinese restaurants have a more upscale vibe. You can't really tell from the outside, but it feels like a high-end Chinese restaurant inside. The interior is quite spacious, with tables for one person or up to four people. Instead of water, they serve tea from a pot, which adds to the upscale feel. During lunchtime, they offer reasonably priced options, but there are also dishes priced at over 1000 yen. I ordered the "Hakka Pork Set" (tax included 900 yen). The dish was a small portion of high-quality Hakka pork, which reminded me of the old Ginza Aster in Namba. It came with slightly spicy fried chicken, egg soup, rice, and no pickles. The Hakka pork had just the right amount of flavor, not too strong on the miso. I didn't end up overeating, so I left satisfied. I'm curious about the other dishes, so I think I'll come back again.

Higobashi Center Building is located about a 7-minute walk from Exit 7 of Higobashi Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line. The restaurant is not very noticeable from the outside, but once you take the elevator down, you will find it along with other eateries like curry, Italian, and Shikoku cuisine. The interior has a cozy atmosphere with round tables and a sense of tradition. The lunch menu offers a wide variety of options, making it hard to choose. I ordered the A lunch set for ¥1,150, which included sweet and sour pork, crab omelet, stir-fried bok choy, spring rolls, salad, soup, rice, and dessert. The sweet and sour pork had a well-balanced miso flavor, the bok choy stir-fry was delicious, the spring rolls were light and crispy, and the crab omelet was filled with crab meat. The soup with shredded bamboo shoots and egg was flavorful and comforting.

Before the visit, I think I mentioned about having a 3-day weekend every week due to the situation in the world... So, this weekend is a 5-day weekend +٩(・∀︎・).+゚Kiraaan, which means it's time for Go To Travel! So, off to Osaka I go (laughs). The first place I visited was this restaurant! "Chukasakan Kaibinrou" This is a place full of memories for one of my followers, GS PALLAS-san. However, they haven't been here since it moved from Sakaisuji Hommachi. I actually planned to visit during a previous trip, but it was closed on Sundays and holidays, and dinner time prices were a bit high, so I postponed it. This day was a weekday, Friday, and during lunchtime! All the conditions were just right. When I arrived at the restaurant around 1:30 pm, the entrance already exuded a sense of luxury. Being located in an office district, they offer a variety of lunch options, but the must-try dish at this restaurant is the "Spring Rolls." I chose the following set menu: - B Lunch 1,700 yen The B Lunch set includes the famous Spring Rolls along with Kung Pao Chicken, Crab Omelette, Sweet and Sour Pork, Shrimp Chili, and Stir-fried Chingensai, served with rice, soup, salad, and dessert. The B Lunch arrived in a plate that resembled a buffet restaurant plate, with small portions of various dishes. Starting with the salad, I proceeded to try each dish. The Spring Rolls were wrapped in egg and fried, not crispy but soft. The Kung Pao Chicken was a great companion to rice. The Crab Omelette surprisingly had real crab meat in it. The Sweet and Sour Pork was more like fried pork, not the traditional dish. The Shrimp Chili was different from the usual concept, with small shrimp fritters mixed with sweet chili sauce. The Stir-fried Chingensai was a delicious dish with a ginger flavor. Overall, the taste was undeniable, but the service aspect was lacking as the elderly staff members were not very attentive and made mistakes in orders. Their attitude towards customers' orders was also questionable. Despite that, the food was enjoyable.

The former Kaibinro, located on the 8th floor of the Fukutake Building in Sakaisuji Honmachi, has moved to Higobashi. I used to visit occasionally because I liked the view from the top floor and the taste of the food. After moving to Higobashi, I visited for lunch for the first time in a while. The restaurant was empty, avoiding the three Cs, but the kitchen seemed busy with orders from Uber Eats coming in one after another and quite a few takeout customers. They serve complimentary tea in teapots, which is a nice touch. The service lunch on this day was sweet and sour squid, with squid instead of pork in the sweet and sour dish. The squid had a good texture and the sweet and sour flavor went well with the rice. The traditional taste of Kaibinro was still alive and well. 1-9-1 Edobori, Nishi-ku, Osaka City, Higobashi Center Building B1F.

Higo Bridge ◇ Chinese Cuisine ◇ [1-cho, Edo-bori, Nishi-ku] Located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Yotsuhashi-suji and Edo-bori 1, in the basement of Higo Bridge Center Building, you will find the Chinese restaurant "Kaibinro" that can accommodate up to 50 people. They have private rooms and table seating, but as I was dining alone, I was seated at the counter. I decided to try the daily lunch special for 900 yen, which was the Crab Omelette Rice Bowl. Shortly after being seated, I was served warm Jasmine tea, which was a nice touch. The Crab Omelette Rice Bowl arrived quickly and was delicious. It had a generous amount of crab meat and a subtle flavor. The portion of rice was a bit too much for me, but the soup that came with it helped fill me up. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. ——————————————————————— Crossing over the big sea, crossing over the river, coming back to my tiny little house. Oh, that's right. The first visit was over 30 years ago. At that time, it was a place that was hard to get into without knowing, located on the 8th floor of the Meijiya Building in Sakaisuji Hommachi. It was recommended by an acquaintance. It was the only Chinese restaurant my father, who couldn't eat garlic dishes, went to. It seems to have been three years since I last came here. I haven't been here for about 8 years. With my father's 7th memorial approaching, I finally visited. The owner is still there, and a sense of nostalgia welled up. Although there is no retro feel from back then, the restaurant feels calming when you visit after a long time. We had spring rolls, green pepper beef, chicken karaage, sweet and sour pork, leek and egg, mapo tofu, almond jelly. We had a bottle of Shaoxing wine, which cost around 11,000 yen. The portion of each dish seems to have decreased compared to before, but it may be the trend of Chinese cuisine moving away from large plates. I feel a little lonely. The taste remains the same as before. It's not too strong, not greasy, and doesn't have any strong flavors, making it easy for anyone to eat. Having tried various dishes over the years, there were no surprises, but a sense of nostalgia came over me. The must-try dishes here tonight were the spring rolls and sweet and sour pork. Unfortunately, the Sichuan-style mapo tofu was not as expected, with a taste more familiar to Japanese palates. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I narrowly finished work just before it started raining. I decided to try a place that hasn't let me down before. Inside, I was surprised by the empty atmosphere. I ordered the daily special, which was "Stir-fried pork and bamboo shoots," but the type of rice was unclear. The tea that came in a teapot was lukewarm. The soup was also lukewarm and lacked flavor. The main dish of stir-fried pork and bamboo shoots had a decent taste, similar to hotel Chinese cuisine, but it lacked depth. With a little more attention to detail in the seasoning, it could have been tastier. The chicken dish was mediocre, but the sauce made up for it. Overall, the meal left me feeling unsatisfied. I decided to order an extra serving of rice, and after finishing it, I left feeling only halfway full. The total cost for today's lunch was 880 yen for the daily special and 300 yen for the extra rice.

This is a high-class Chinese restaurant located a little south of Higobashi in a dining area in the basement of a building. It looked expensive but they offer reasonably priced lunch sets with various options. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork lunch set for 880 yen. Let's have lunch at Kaibinro, a Chinese restaurant right by Higobashi Station. The daily lunch special is "Chicken curry stir-fry with century egg tofu." The restaurant is located in the basement of a building. Upon entering, I was surprised by the relatively luxurious atmosphere, with tablecloths on each table. There are private rooms and round tables available. I ordered the daily lunch special. It arrived - the chicken curry stir-fry is made by stir-frying fried chicken with curry sauce. It's a Chinese-style curry with fried chicken. The century egg tofu was cut into small pieces and placed on top. The fried chicken is made with chicken thigh meat. The combination of fried chicken and curry is delightful, making it a very satisfying meal for someone like me who loves both.

I also like casual Chinese restaurants, but I really love these slightly more expensive, long-established Chinese restaurants. The atmosphere is more important to me than the taste. This place, although it has moved, was established in 1952. These types of traditional Chinese restaurants are often used for banquets. I ordered the A lunch set for 1200 yen, which included sweet and sour pork, crab omelette, and spring rolls on one plate. The crab omelette was not what I expected, I thought it would be scrambled eggs with crab flavor. Overall, the food was what you would expect from a traditional Chinese restaurant. That's what I like about these places. There was an older male staff member on the floor and an older lady at the register in uniform. A great team! However, the background music was a bit off. A simple Erhu performance would have been better.

I used it for lunch. I ordered the sweet and sour pork set meal. I really liked the strong sourness of the sauce, but I was disappointed by the smell of the meat and the hardness caused by the temperature of the frying oil.
