I was bedridden over the weekend due to a kidney stone, and I hadn't eaten anything. I needed something to eat for recovery... I decided on the traditional and delicious Yamanashi-style "nabe-yaki udon". It was really tasty with a rich broth. It helped me regain my strength. Thank you.

Soba (hot) set meal for ¥750. Went to a lunch with friends at a restaurant in Fukushima. The soba restaurant I had in mind near Fukushima Station was closed, so I found another soba restaurant. When we arrived, the restaurant was full of men in suits, but luckily we were seated in just a few minutes as some people left. The only downside was that we had to share a table during the busy lunch hour. The menu had a variety of noodle dishes, rice bowls, and set meals, but I chose this one because it was affordable and filling. The food arrived quickly, in less than 5 minutes after ordering. The hot soba warmed me up, and the onigiri was easy to eat with its convenient triangular shape. Next time, I'll try a different dish when I come back.

During lunchtime, this popular local restaurant is bustling with salarymen and office ladies. The menu offers a variety of noodles such as soba, udon, and nyumen, as well as rice bowls and set meals at reasonable prices. I tried the chicken soba, which comes with the option to add a rice ball for an extra 100 yen during lunchtime. Normally priced at 300 yen, the rice ball becomes a great deal when added to the lunch set. The rice balls offered here include plain ones and ones with bonito flakes and plum filling, adding to the value. As part of the set, I also received a side dish and a bowl of nyumen. The soba was served with sliced boiled egg, shishito pepper tempura, and pickled ginger, and the dipping sauce had chicken and green onions. It was a delicious meal, perfect for the upcoming season.

I visited this restaurant for the first time during dinner. I had the katsudon set meal. It's an old-fashioned soba restaurant, but the katsudon broth was delicious, possibly made with soba broth. The soba noodles were also hand-made and tasty. I would like to try the zaru soba next time.

The soba restaurant had a nostalgic atmosphere, both in its exterior and interior. The tables were shared, adding to the traditional feel. The soba noodles were long and required skill to eat. It seemed like they were a bit too stretchy. There was no process of tightening the noodles. The zaru soba was served at room temperature. The soba bowl was delicious.

I arrived at the store at 12:55 on Friday. The store had a nice aroma of Japanese broth wafting outside. It is located diagonally across the main street from the Shogi Hall. A male staff member on a bicycle with a tray on his shoulder just left for a delivery. It was a sight reminiscent of the good old days of Showa era. The inside of the store had a traditional Japanese atmosphere with pop music playing in the background, which seemed a bit out of place. I ordered the Curry Set Meal with Udon for 880 yen. The curry broth was delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors. The udon noodles were smooth and chewy, although a bit shorter than usual. The beef topping was tender and high quality. The meal also came with onigiri and pickles. Overall, the curry udon was excellent, with a unique and flavorful curry broth. The store is a hidden gem in the Osaka curry udon scene. I would give it a rating of 89 out of 100.

The morning meeting ran long, leaving little time for lunch. The original plan for lunch was abandoned, and a nearby restaurant was chosen for a quick meal. The choice was between curry and soba, and soba was chosen. Both lunch companions decided on a light meal as they were planning to drink together in the evening. Despite ordering a set meal of both a bowl and noodles, it seemed like too much food to digest before the evening. Cold soba was ordered, with the option of toppings like fried tofu or tempura. The soba was served quickly, with a side of rice balls for the set meal. One colleague ordered soba with a side of tempura, while another chose soba with grated radish. The soba was tasty, though the aroma was not very strong. The addition of shredded daikon radish was interesting, but the pickled ginger was unnecessary. Pickled ginger would be better suited for cold noodles like ramen.

I arrived late for lunch and missed my target restaurants as they had already closed for lunchtime. I ended up at a casual soba restaurant in the neighborhood. It's located across from the Kansai Shogi Hall, and I couldn't help but wonder if Fujii-kun also ordered delivery from here. I felt like having rice and soba, so I ordered the set meal with katsudon and soba for 900 yen. The staff was efficient and the food was served promptly. The katsudon was crispy and the egg was half-cooked. The sweetness was subtle with a flavorful dashi taste. It seemed like the katsu was pre-fried as the inside was not hot enough, which was a bit disappointing. The soba was hand-made and had a nice texture and smoothness. It had a subtle sweetness with a flavorful dashi taste, just like the katsudon. It's a casual neighborhood soba restaurant where you can easily drop in and enjoy a quick meal. The convenience of serving until 3 pm for the lunchtime crowd is a plus. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Osaka is a soba restaurant located across from the Fukushima and Ka Shogi Kaikan. They also offer delivery service, making it a popular choice for chess players to have lunch during matches. In fact, it is said that even Sota Fujii has dined here before. I visited the restaurant and ordered the Nishin Soba. While there was nothing particularly unique about it, I was able to enjoy the taste that is typical of soba restaurants in Osaka, where the broth is key. It's nice to see a small, independently-owned restaurant thriving right next to a station in Umeda.

Fukushima Station is about an 8-minute walk away. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but it's located in the middle of a calm shopping street. Inside the shop, it has a cozy feel like a typical set meal restaurant. On this day, I ordered the pork cutlet and egg on rice set meal (with extra-large soba noodles). I enthusiastically requested, "Please give me a set meal that will fill me up!" and received this set meal. The soba noodles were thin noodles made with a 20:80 ratio of buckwheat flour to wheat flour. I enjoyed the warm soba noodles, but I think the cold soba noodles would be even more delicious. It's best to quickly put the noodles in your mouth and slurp them up. On my way out, I received a coupon for 100 yen off on Fridays and was told, "Come back on Friday!" I'm looking forward to going back on Friday.

In the restaurant, there is a high-quality Soba dish with herring for 950 yen. It includes grated yam, egg, and a whole piece of herring, which seems nourishing and strengthening. The noodles are smooth and easy to eat. The herring is sweet and tender, surprisingly it goes well with the soba. The restaurant seems easy to visit regularly.

July 1, 2020 (Wednesday) First day at the new workplace. Setting work aside, I headed out for lunch with two colleagues. Although I didn't specifically aim for soba, today I found myself in a situation where I couldn't walk 5-10 minutes for a solo meal. Due to the rain, we decided to visit a nearby restaurant that I had bookmarked. Upon seeing the sample dishes displayed outside, I opted for the parent and child bowl set. The decision was made without much thought, as I seem to be eating this combo frequently lately. As long as it tastes good, I'm fine with it. The restaurant was crowded when we arrived around noon, with a line forming outside. Social distancing was not in effect, and solo diners were naturally sharing tables. The parent and child bowl set was served promptly within 5 minutes. It came with a miso soup not shown in the sample, which I decided to enjoy along with the meal. Starting with the soba, which was a 30% buckwheat and 70% wheat blend, it was decent. I appreciate the honesty in serving this type of soba. The flavorful dashi in the parent and child bowl was typical of a soba restaurant, making the meal enjoyable without any stress. The restaurant seemed to be run by the owner's wife, with another female server present. The owner's wife's manner of giving orders seemed a bit stern, while a gentler approach might have been more pleasant for the diners.

The tempura soba set. The tempura consisted of only shrimp and ginger. The proportion of soba was not specified, but the flavor was not very noticeable. There was a long line of customers waiting to eat New Year's soba, but there didn't seem to be any other soba restaurants nearby. The menu listed the tempura soba set for 980 yen, which seemed affordable, but the cost performance was not good.

Near JR Fukushima Station, there is a soba restaurant where many salarymen working in the area visit during daytime. The atmosphere may not be modern, but it gives off a nostalgic vibe of a traditional soba restaurant. The dashi broth is incredibly delicious. The elderly lady running the place adds to the Showa-era charm. It would be nice to see these nostalgic spots continue to thrive in the Reiwa era.

【Review #658】Lunch visit☆*:;;;:**:;;;:*☆*:;;;:**:;;;:*☆*:;;;:**:;;;:*☆*:;;;:**:;;;:*☆ ■■■ Soba Yamaga Soba (Osaka, Fukushima branch) ■■■ 【Dish】 (Visited this time: December 2018, First visit: December 2018) - Single order Oroshi Soba (cold) regular 730 yen per person 【Result】 - Food quality was poor - The "cold soba" was cold. The "hot soba" was hot... which is obvious! However, the noodles in the "Oroshi Soba (cold)" were lukewarm and unpleasant to eat! A disappointing soba that I could only take two bites of and left. - The tea served was weak and lacked flavor. Additionally, the lukewarm "hot tea" was not hot at all! The temperature at this restaurant is consistently lukewarm and unsatisfactory. Definitely not planning on revisiting this place. A disappointing soba specialty store. If you're looking for soba, the nearby restaurant "◆ Makino" is a better option! Soba recommendation: "◆ Makino" 【Revisit】 Absolutely not

Fukushima Station for dinner. I wandered around without deciding where to go and stumbled upon Yamaga Soba. There seem to be a few Yamaga Soba shops around here. Probably sister stores or something. I can't remember the menu name. I ordered the tempura soba with onigiri set. It was around 800 yen. The soba was just normal soba, easy to eat. If you're looking for strong-flavored country-style soba, you should go elsewhere. But the broth was delicious and overall it was good. It's just right for everyday use. Thank you for the meal~.

My younger brother took me to a recommended soba restaurant. It was packed with office workers during lunchtime, but we arrived in the early afternoon and were seated right away. We ordered the tempura soba and waited for about 5 minutes. Maybe we had high expectations, but the tempura seemed a bit overcooked and slightly burnt. It was just okay in my opinion. I wonder why my brother thought it was so delicious... The soba noodles also lacked firmness and felt a bit watery.

Located right near JR Fukushima Station, there was a soba restaurant that I had always known about but never visited. I had heard that it had a good reputation. Just before noon, I happened to pass by with my boss and senior colleague from work, and they suggested we go in before all the restaurants get crowded after 12 o'clock. It turned out to be a good decision. We were able to sit at a table for four right away, but five minutes later it was full and there were several groups waiting. It was bustling. I chose the cold Oroshi Soba for 850 yen, while my seniors opted for the Tempura or Zaru Soba set (with rice ball included). I was surprised at how affordable the sets were, with the Zaru Soba set priced at 750 yen and the Tempura set at 1000 yen. I couldn't believe that the Zaru Soba set was cheaper than what I ordered. The restaurant offers reasonable prices that are friendly to salarymen, attracting more and more customers. There were also a lot of shared tables. The soba didn't have a very strong aroma, but it had a good texture. Although it's a soba restaurant, it seemed like many people were ordering rice bowls or sets. Perhaps getting a bowl and soba set is the best choice. Anyway, it's a restaurant that is truly loved by salarymen. *I couldn't take photos because my boss was there.

There is nothing particularly good or bad about this traditional soba and udon shop in an old-fashioned town. Just to note, they didn't serve soba-yu.
