With the beer also chilled, I decided to dig in! Crunch, crunch... Oh! It's pleasantly milder than I expected. It can be described as elegant, not like the 100 yen snacks that leave you with change. It definitely gives off the color, aroma, and taste reminiscent of tempura batter. There's a faint hint of wasabi that follows. The beer I had with it was the limited edition Master's Dream from Premium Malt's, with a rich aroma that unfortunately overshadowed the premium kaki no tane... Maybe I should have stuck with Super Dry. I was hoping for a draw in this "premium" showdown. Personally, I wouldn't recommend pairing it with a very aromatic beer.
