Shijo-Mae-Yuhigaoka Station is a 5-minute walk from the Four Days Temple. I visited "Boulangerie Parigo," selected as one of the top 100 bakeries in the Pan WEST on Tabelog, for the second time because the food was so delicious last time. I arrived before 12 o'clock and the place was still bustling with many customers. I tried the "Milk Cream" (227 yen) this time. The fluffy bread is filled with sweet milk cream. It's more like a sweet treat than a cream puff, and it's delicious. I also had the "Pain au Chocolat" (324 yen). The croissant dough here is rolled out very thinly, giving it a crispy texture. The chocolate flavor is subtle, with the croissant texture standing out more. It's so crispy that the crumbs go everywhere (laughs). If it wasn't for that, the Pain au Chocolat would have been perfect. I also tried the "Piroshki" (270 yen) without heating it up, which was a bit disappointing. The surface of the bread was a bit hard, making it a bit difficult to eat. It probably would have been better if it was warmed up. Overall, the bread here is of a very high standard. Although the prices may seem a bit high, the taste definitely justifies it. I look forward to visiting again. Thank you for the meal.

This time I came around noon. Last time, I really enjoyed the baguette, so this time I chose some baguette and cheese items. I saw some pirozhki near the entrance, which I didn't buy last time, so I decided to get one this time. It was different from the pirozhki I'm used to, but it tasted fresh. It wasn't my favorite pirozhki, probably just a matter of preference. The German potato-like one with bacon was really delicious, and I will definitely buy it again! If possible, I would love to eat it frequently. The cheese coupe and cheese focaccia were irresistible for cheese lovers, but I found them a bit heavy for me. However, I think the cheese focaccia would be perfect with white wine! They would make a great and easy snack. There are so many types of bread here, and I want to try more, so I'm looking forward to coming back. I've been exploring bakeries in the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe area, and this place has been the best find so far!

The Tamachi Line is a bakery located near Shitennoji Mae Yuhigaoka Station. The area around the shop is filled with the delicious aroma of bread. They offer a wide variety of small-sized breads such as Order Milk Cream, Mushroom Focaccia, Garlic Toast, and Apple Pie at affordable prices. Each bread is carefully crafted and looks really delicious. Personally, I think the Milk Cream is the best. The soft bread dough melts with the sweet milk cream. It's not overly sweet, refreshing, and goes perfectly with the chewy bread. Everything I tried was delicious, making it a truly wonderful bakery.

Visited the store in the early afternoon on September 9, 2023. Customers were coming in one after another. There were many small-sized sweets and side dishes. The Pineapple Brioche for 390 yen is a refrigerated item, perfect for summer. It has a Milan-style hard crust that is not too hard, making it easy to eat. The Lemon Cinnamon Roll for 250 yen is not too sweet, with a nice hint of acidity. The Mochi Kinako Anpan for 200 yen is small-sized and perfect for a snack.

I received a heart-shaped pastry palmier. It is crispy and fragrant, yet delicate in texture and delicious. The balance of puff pastry and sugar, maybe granulated sugar, is outstanding. I devoured it in no time with its crispy, flaky, and crunchy texture. I have also tried their bread before and it was delicious too!

It was bustling with many people on Saturday afternoon. This time, I bought shokupan, Earl Grey bread, cheese bread, and olive bread! The shokupan was soft and delicious. Personally, I really liked the Earl Grey bread, it had a nice Earl Grey aroma and a good balance of sweetness in the cream filling, so I would like to buy it again. The cheese bread, priced at 140 yen in a bag, was crispy with a nice salty flavor, making it a bread suitable for a meal. The olive bread was hard with olives and a peppery spice inside, and it paired well with pasta!

I visited around 17:20. Even though it was late, there was still a wide variety of bread available. It seems like they bake until quite late. I purchased Gorgonzola French bread, red bean French bread, and orange peel and sweet potato French bread. The bread itself is very delicious. I had the reheated red bean and orange peel the next morning, and they were still soft. The Gorgonzola bread had a strong Gorgonzola flavor and was very good! It had plenty of honey, so if you like cheese, you can't go wrong with this one! Thank you for the meal.

The croissant was crispy and had a good buttery aroma. The curry bread was average. The kouign-amann had a good match of sweetness and bread texture. Not shown in the photos, the walnut bread, when toasted and topped with butter, had a great texture and the walnut aroma stood out.

I had heard about the background of the owner of this bakery, who is known as a bread enthusiast, from a friend. He started in the world of bread at the age of 15, trained at popular shops like "Vigo no Mise" in Kobe, and further trained in France for a few years. I believe that going to France, a country known for its agricultural traditions, to train in bread making is different from training only in Japan. It's not just about the language barrier, but also about experiencing and understanding the essence of the food culture in that country. I think it's important to struggle and absorb something when you are young. That's why I wanted to visit this bakery run by a bread artisan. When I entered the shop, I saw a wide variety of bread displayed, but couldn't see the owner. Most of the staff were women. I had already eaten lunch, so I had planned to buy only 2-3 items, but I was quite indecisive. Since I was alone, I couldn't buy a large baguette, but I still wanted to taste the flavor of the baguette, which is the face of a French bakery, so I chose the Cassoulet Provence. I also wanted to try something sweet, so I chose the simple but original Milk Cream. I brought them back to my hotel, and the small baguette of Cassoulet had a strong flavor of flour, top-notch quality. As expected from Provence, the ingredients were solid, and it paired well with the small baguette. The Milk Cream was a perfect combination of sweet, light cream and the fluffy texture of the bread, a taste that anyone would enjoy. I finished them in no time, but I regretted not buying more. If I have the chance, I will visit again and buy more items. Thank you for the delicious food.

I visited the store around 5 pm on a weekday and found that the interior was spacious with a wide variety of breads despite the time of day. There were so many delicious breads to choose from that I had a hard time deciding. I wanted to try some sweet pastries as well, but I know that pastries like Danish pastries are best eaten fresh on the same day. So, I decided to skip them this time. I tried the mini baguettes, including the mini mentaiko baguette which was small but tasty without being too hard. The mini Gorgonzola baguette had a strong Gorgonzola aroma and the walnuts and raisins inside added a nice touch. It was also delicious with a little honey drizzled on top. I also tried the curry bread which was recommended at the entrance. The curry flavor was not too overpowering and had a hint of fruitiness, making it suitable even for children. Although the store is not easily accessible from where I live, I would love to come back and try more of their fresh bread varieties. If I lived closer, it would be great to have a little bit of fresh bread every day. I also appreciated that they accepted card payments, which was convenient for someone like me who prefers cashless transactions.

The matcha cream danish is a must-buy. It's stylish, delicious, and from a bakery that I really liked. I bought these four types: Matcha cream danish - the matcha cream is rich and delicious, and the danish is crispy. The other varieties also look tempting. Pear and caramel cream danish - the filling is tasty and the danish is crispy. Bolognese focaccia - crispy on the outside and delicious from the first bite. Perfect for those who like savory flavors. Piroshki - I had a bite of the one my husband bought. A bit oily, but the chewy dough was delicious. The customers and staff were friendly, and I'm glad I went. I would definitely go back when I'm in Osaka again.

Visited on Sunday around 12pm. There were still plenty of items to choose from as nothing had sold out yet. Even though I was full from lunch, I decided to purchase two items. ・Bacon and gooey egg pizza toast (292 yen) The flavor was strong, but it mellowed out when eaten with the soft-boiled egg. The toast was crispy and crunchy. ・Canelé (324 yen) The balance between the crispy outside and chewy inside was perfect. The outer layer wasn't too hard, making it easy to eat. The generous size was also a plus. The staff kindly allowed me to take photos of the bread on display. I'm interested in trying their baguettes and other hard bread, so I would like to visit this shop again.

After watching the owner-chef on TV, I felt like trying the bread here at Satapla. I visited after going to Momotani, as the shop stays open until 8 pm. It was quite crowded with customers, so I quickly bought a loaf of bread and left. They also gave a complimentary cut baguette at the register. The fine-textured, moist bread was not too sweet and seemed perfect for a meal. It was a delicious, chewy bread, and I would like to visit again. ★Payment with PayPay and electronic money accepted.

I visited the same store at Yuhigaoka while I was at Shitennoji Temple. The store was very beautiful and had a sense of elegance. The rumored croissant was indeed delicious, and it was surprisingly affordable at 270 yen (excluding tax). They also had many different types of bread rolls to compare and try. I would definitely like to visit this store again.

Baguette (Traditional) 310 yen + tax. You can taste the flavor of wheat. The large uneven air bubbles are captivating. Take a deep breath of the good smell of wheat. French bread made with only simple ingredients is said to easily show the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the artisan in the finished product.

◆Located a 4-minute walk from Exit 3 of Ekiten Tennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station◆No parking available◆Accepts payment through smartphone◆Ordered items: Tart Flambe (180 yen), Custard Cream Danish (250 yen x2), Bolognese-style Focaccia (250 yen x2), Apple Petit Pain (190 yen), Curry Bread (250 yen). Total: 2100 yen◆Impressions: I always noticed luxury cars parked in front of the bakery, so I had never stopped by before. But I decided to give it a try this time. With a wide variety of bread, it was hard to choose. I bought 8 different types this time. Although the Croissant, which is said to be famous, was sold out. The prices were not too high, typical for Osaka. The Focaccia was fluffy and delicious. The Apple Petit Pain had chunks of apples and apple jam, not too sweet, and I would definitely buy it again. The Tart Flambe had a crispy crust and a unique texture, with the cheese complementing it well. All the bread was delicious, so I would love to buy from here again!!

Boulangerie Parigo, located about a 5-minute walk from Shitennoji Yuhigaoka Station! When the planned soba restaurant was closed, I was worried about what to do, but then I found this restaurant on Tabelog and decided to visit. I'm so grateful to have discovered such a delicious restaurant, thank you Tabelog! On a weekend after 4 pm, there were plenty of people inside the store but no line outside! The cashier quickly handled the customers, so I was able to make my purchase without much of a wait. I bought a Panini, a Pain au Chocolat, and two Mentaiko France. - Pain au Chocolat (about 300 yen): This Pain au Chocolat was a hit! The layers of the pastry were crispy and the texture when you bite into it was so enjoyable! The bag was filled with butter to the point where it was oozing out. Unlike the Panini, the bread was the star here! Even though it wasn't overloaded with chocolate, the balance was perfect due to the lightness of the dough. It was so crispy that crumbs were bound to fall, so I recommend eating it while still in the bag. - Mentaiko France (237 yen): The French bread was quite hard! It had a firm texture and was filled generously with mentaiko from top to bottom, which made me happy. The mentaiko filling wasn't too strong in flavor, and it had a good balance with the bread. My husband had it the next morning, and it had become quite hard, so I realized that it's best enjoyed fresh on the same day. - Fresh Tomato and Mozzarella Panini (420 yen): I wanted to have a meal-like bread for lunch, so I bought this one! It also had basil and lettuce. The surface of the Panini was covered with plenty of sesame seeds! The sesame flavor spread as soon as I took a bite! The tomato was fresh and sweet. The focus of the Panini was on the ingredients, with the bread taking a back seat. Everything was delicious, but the Pain au Chocolat was outstandingly good! I decided I would definitely stock up on croissant-like bread next time! I will definitely go back! Thank you for the meal!

◇3rd Visit (June 2023) After about 5 and a half years since my last visit, I went to Boulangerie Parigo. It was a Saturday afternoon around 1 pm, and there were only 2-3 groups of customers inside, so I decided to go in and choose some bread. The display of beautifully crafted bread was still impressive, and just choosing was a delightful experience. Here are the items I chose this time: ■ Bolognese-style Focaccia 270 yen A fluffy brioche dough with a creamy béchamel sauce topped with a rich Bolognese sauce. The authentic flavor of minced meat and vegetables packed into the bread makes it a luxurious treat, like a lasagna on bread. ■ Block Bacon and Potato Escargot Butter 292 yen A crispy and fragrant baguette filled with flavorful block bacon and potatoes. The escargot butter adds a delicious touch with its garlic and parsley aroma, complementing the bacon and potatoes perfectly. ■ Mentaiko France 237 yen A crispy baguette with a bold savory flavor, filled with the mellow taste of mentaiko. The combination of savory mentaiko and the crunchy baguette is irresistible. ■ Caramel Cream Danish 270 yen A slightly bitter Danish pastry with a thick layer of buttery caramel cream. The rich and creamy caramel cream has a deep flavor and pairs perfectly with the flaky and soft layers of the pastry. ■ Brioche a la Creme Caramel 378 yen A thick layer of cream overflowing from the brioche, with a caramel sauce and almond toppings. The moist brioche dough melts in your mouth, and the creamy caramel is not overly sweet, making it a delightful treat. The bakery offers a wide variety of hard bread, but my personal favorite is the Viennoiserie like the Danish pastry. The savory bread items like the Bolognese-style Focaccia and Escargot Butter were also delicious. While the quality is high, the prices have increased significantly compared to before, which is a bit disappointing. I tend to choose elaborate savory or unique sweet items, so next time, I would like to try the famous croissants, curry bread, or the cream-filled pastries. Overall, it was a satisfying experience as always!

The best baguette I've ever eaten. Although there was no line, customers kept coming in one after another, making it a popular shop. When I tasted it, I could tell that the owner has a real passion for bread. It's really delicious! The prices are more reasonable than the bakery in the department store. The weekend-only apple pie was delicious. It was crispy, with lots of apple chunks and not too sweet. It has become my favorite bakery!

I visited a super famous bakery near my company after a long time. They always have freshly baked bread on display, so the shelves are always full of delicious bread, making it hard to choose. I was tempted by the mini croissants that you can taste different fillings, but I ended up buying a walnut raisin bread, sweet chestnut petit bread, and walnut sablé for next time. The petit bread was soft and chewy, best enjoyed without heating it up. The sweet chestnuts added a nice texture, and the white sesame seeds were a great accent! They also had chocolate sablé and palmiers, so you can create a nice assortment of baked goods for a gift.

On May 28, 2023, Sunday, it was sunny in Shinjuku Isetan. I arrived at Isetan around 9:40 am to wait for the store to open, but there were a lot of people, maybe because it was Sunday or because it was the last day. The French bread, sandwich bread, deli bread, and sweet bread were all delicious and of high quality. However, if you try to go later, you might have to wait in a long line. Unfortunately, I didn't like the Gorgonzola cheese croque, but everything else was very tasty. I wanted to visit other shops as well, but since this was the first shop I visited, I didn't buy anything from the refrigerated case. The prices seemed slightly higher than in other stores, but I was still happy to be able to buy them in Tokyo. ✨
