At the end of 2022, I found out about this strawberry afternoon tea (limited to Hankyu Umeda store) -> Reservation start date was January 5th at 12:00, but I was working so I accessed the reservation site at 5:00 pm. Despite being limited to weekdays, all the reservations for the day I had planned with my friend were already filled. In fact, most of the weekdays in January were already booked. I checked the availability for February and immediately decided on a date to make a reservation for a rematch. Finally, I managed to secure a reservation! The "Lux Afternoon Tea Set" costs 4500 yen and includes: - Burnt butter souffle (choose from 3 varieties) [Top Tier] - Strawberry biscuit sandwich - Strawberry and caramel apple omelette - Strawberry and pistachio parfait - Strawberry and ricotta cheese shortcake [Bottom Tier] - Tomato bisque - Green salad - Herb salt potato - Main dish (choose from 3 varieties) - Tea is also included. It's great that there are many options to choose from, and the fact that a full-size souffle, which would normally cost around 1200-1300 yen separately, is included is amazing. You can also choose your main dish, which is not common in afternoon teas. The lineup of free teas is also impressive, with limited-time fresh strawberry tea and ice drinks included in the tea selection! Considering that individual teas cost nearly 1000 yen each, the fact that they are included for free is already a great deal. Looking at the menu, it's understandable why there was a reservation battle. The afternoon tea room cafe itself was quite empty. Even though the selection of items was limited, each dessert was substantial in size, and there were plenty of savory items, including a pasta dish that was about half the size of a regular portion. It's not common to find afternoon teas with such a savory focus, so this was a pleasant surprise. The tea served was of a normal size. The souffle takes time to bake, so they serve it piping hot towards the end. If you were to order each item individually, the total cost would be quite frightening... but the all-inclusive afternoon tea set for 4500 yen is incredibly cost-effective. I was so full that it was almost painful. However, if they offer this again next year, I will definitely make sure to win the reservation battle and visit again.

It's quite filling, so you don't get much hydration, which is disappointing. The souffle is light on flour, more like a pudding. The toppings are well done.

The Living Floor on the 8th floor of Hankyu Department Store is located in a corner. It used to be on the 2nd floor, where you could enjoy tea while watching people going to ride the Hankyu train or subway through large glass windows. When I was a student, I would treat myself here occasionally with the money I earned from part-time work, enjoying my time. From this spot, you can now see the Daimaru building right next to you, and in the distance, stylish high-rise buildings like the Hilton in Umeda. I had a winter menu with ginger-based fruit tea, ice latte with mousse, chocolate brownie, and scones. Alongside the scones, they served a limited-time maple syrup based on tea, which was lighter than regular maple syrup and had a subtle Earl Grey aroma, making it delicious. The brownie had a deep cocoa flavor suitable for autumn, and it balanced well with the whipped cream. The warm scones, although smaller than before, still have the same taste as in my student days. These are sweets unique to afternoon tea. There were mostly female customers, but there were also a few men enjoying themselves. I bought the delicious tea maple syrup to enjoy at home on my way back.

A while ago, I visited Afternoon Tea on the 7th floor of Hankyu Umeda. I tried their seasonal limited items: Chestnut Milk Tea (¥960) - a gentle and sweet milk tea with the option to add chestnut cream for a luxurious taste experience. I also had the Chestnut and Orange Shortcake (¥830) - a fluffy sponge cake with chestnut and chocolate cream, topped with a refreshing orange sauce and chestnuts. The limited dessert perfectly captured the autumn vibes. The cozy interior had spacious sofa seating in the middle and by the walls, as well as a window side with a glass wall for an open atmosphere. The white and brick walls added to the charm of the place. Overall, it was a delightful experience at Afternoon Tea.

The last order for food is at 7:00 PM and the restaurant closes at 8:00 PM. Despite it being Friday night, it was empty. I arrived 15 minutes early for a meeting at 6:50 PM and asked to wait outside, but was told to wait inside instead. The meal was quite ordinary with no particular flaws, and for 2,480 yen, I was satisfied. The iced tea was similar to Compal's iced coffee in Nagoya, where hot tea is poured into a glass filled with ice. You can also freely ask for more ice.

As someone who often dines alone, I find it difficult to challenge myself with souffle. Being older now, it's hard to finish it alone without sharing. This time, I was with a young person, so we also ordered a parfait. The tea was delicious as always, a classic choice. On a holiday around 3:30 PM, there was a wait of about 4 groups, but I was called in within 10 minutes. I ordered the burnt butter soufflé with raspberry and pistachio, which came with a drink for 1793 yen. The sauce had pistachio cream, raspberry, and condensed milk. The soufflé was incredibly fluffy and delicious. It was lightly sweet and creamy. When topped with pistachio cream and condensed milk, it became even more delicious. It was a blissful experience. The drink was Assam milk tea, easy to drink with no strong flavors. The generous serving in the pot was also appreciated. I enjoyed the spacious seating at a large table for 4 people. I wanted to relax even after eating, so I had lunch here. I was seated at a sofa table. I ordered scallop and cabbage yuzu creamy pasta with salad and mini dessert. I'm happy that the pasta came out piping hot for afternoon tea. The salad was also fresh and crunchy. For dessert, I had my favorite apple pie. Eating it with plenty of cream makes me feel happy. I appreciate the kind hospitality of the staff at the restaurant.

I visited around 4:00 pm on December 30th. The shop is a bit hidden, so it might be a hidden gem. However, it was quite crowded probably due to the year-end, with about 4 groups waiting ahead of us. We waited for about 30 minutes before being seated. They mentioned that the scones would take about 20 minutes to bake, so we waited for 20 minutes. When the freshly baked scones arrived, they were delicious and warm. There were two flavors, plain and strawberry, and we enjoyed the difference in taste. The interior of the shop is relatively spacious and provides a relaxing atmosphere.

I used to always end up at a large table alone in most stores, but I'm glad I was guided to a sofa seat here. I went at exactly 2:00 for the soufflé, and got seated in 18 minutes. Burnt butter soufflé with orange and rum raisin, La France Darjeeling (hot).

I avoided the dining area on the upper floor and had a leisurely lunch in this quiet place. I had the seasonal pasta with plenty of ingredients, which had a satisfying texture. It came with red tea, and I added chestnut cream for a little extra. I was happy to be able to choose a half-size dessert, so I chose the fig pound cake. The red tea came in a full pot. I don't usually drink much water, but it was so delicious that I made an effort to drink it all. It would be nice if you could also choose a half-size for the red tea. The sofa seat supported me all the way to my head, and I felt like I could fall asleep. It was a truly happy moment.

I was torn between strawberry lemon milk tea and orange and rum raisin, but I chose orange which is also a seasonal limited edition. The tea is Afternoon Tea blend. They said the soufflé would take about 20 minutes, but it was ready in about 10 minutes. It's bigger than I thought and I'm happy (^-^) The topping tower is also cute♪ First, I'll try it as it is. The crispy burnt butter with nuts is an accent, and it's fluffy, hot, slightly sweet and delicious ( ﾟДﾟ)ｳﾏｰ! It's even more delicious with orange confiture, adding a hint of acidity and sweetness. I love raisins too♪ The whipped cream melts as soon as you put it on. The tea has a gentle flavor without any strong taste, and it goes well with the soufflé. It's delicious on its own. It's nice that they provide a pot so you can have about 2.5 cups. It gets a bit bitter towards the end, so I add milk and sugar (^-^) You can see Hotel Granvia from the window. It's perfect for enjoying a leisurely tea time.

The biggest drawback is the high prices. I can only go occasionally, but I appreciate the beautiful and relaxing atmosphere of Hankyu Department Store and the layout of the tables. It is reassuring to see that most of the customers are women.

Afternoon tea rooms are plentiful, but today I enjoyed looking out at the hustle and bustle of Hankyu Department Store and Osaka Station, feeling grateful for being able to travel.

I like that this restaurant is not as chaotic as other nearby chain stores. The dish comes with a whole chestnut with the skin on, making me feel like autumn has arrived.
