Yesterday (4/8), after enjoying a delicious bowl of salt ramen at a shop with a difficult-to-find location near Exit 7 of Nagahoribashi Station on the Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi Ryokuchi Line, I walked a little towards Shinsaibashi Station and visited this shop for a second meal. Upon entering the flashy exterior shop, I sat at the counter and ordered what seemed to be their specialty, the "Black Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen" (870 yen) without the need for a ticket machine. After a short wait, the bowl arrived with a white soup topped with black Ma-yu oil, giving the impression that the soup itself was black, but it was actually the Ma-yu oil that was black. On top of the soup were slices of both flat and thin char siu, menma, and chopped green onions as simple toppings. Taking a sip of the soup, it was a typical tonkotsu broth with the added aroma and flavor of the Ma-yu oil, creating a delicious slightly light soup. The noodles were straight and thin, typical of tonkotsu ramen, which coated well with the soup and had a chewy texture without being unpleasant on the throat. I ate through it mindlessly, and despite it being my second bowl from the day before, I finished it all, impressed by its unexpectedly delicious taste.

The delicious and unique aroma of creamy tonkotsu whets the appetite. The portion size is quite large and filling! The appearance of the black garlic oil is also distinctive and adds character. It seems that the shop is popular with foreign tourists, as there are many signs displayed. However, the shop is small, so the proximity to the neighboring diners was closer than expected, making it difficult to concentrate on the taste.

I wanted a simple soy sauce tonkotsu ramen, so I ordered the white tonkotsu at Mugi Kaze. It was delicious with a light yet rich soy sauce tonkotsu flavor! The only downside was that the bamboo shoots (menma) lacked flavor, but other than that, it was a great ramen shop.

I visited the restaurant again to drink and eat ramen to finish off the day. For some reason, I was drawn to the mixed soba this time and ordered it! While waiting for the ramen, I had the usual beer. The appearance of the mixed soba was good, but when I actually tasted it...? The texture and aroma of the noodles didn't quite suit my taste... Thank you for the meal!

・White Tonkotsu Soy Sauce
・Half-boiled Flavored Egg
・Mini Char Siu Don
Looking for lunch on a Monday in Higashi-Shinsaibashi, but it seems like most places are closed for the day. I wanted to have tsukemen, so I went to Miyata Menji, but they were closed for their regular day off. Then, I walked along the street and found Tonkatsu Daiki with a long line outside. Epopoku was closed as well. I decided to go for udon and headed west, only to find out that Kawafuku was also closed for the day. Finally, I ended up at Mugi Kaze, a ramen shop I've seen around this area before.
It was my first time visiting this ramen shop with its flashy sign that is hard to miss for anyone walking by. The interior had only a counter seating, and since both sliding doors were wide open, I closed the one behind me after sitting down.
Soup: Tonkotsu soy sauce
The soup had a rich color but was surprisingly light and easy to drink. It had a standard flavor with a generous amount of oil, although I wish there were more slices of char siu in it.
Noodles: Thin straight noodles
The noodles had a nice firmness and were easy to slurp up.
Char Siu Don: Char siu rice bowl
The portion of char siu in the bowl was not the usual small slices you'd expect for 100 yen; it had a good amount of meat. However, the overall flavor wasn't as bold as expected, despite being advertised as rich.
The pricing seemed a bit on the expensive side. Thanks for the meal!

Shinsaibashi Mugi Kaze in Osaka is a small shop with only counter seating. The interior is filled with autographs of wrestlers from the Dragon Gate wrestling organization. Despite being advertised as a rich tonkotsu shoyu ramen, the broth was surprisingly light. The noodles were thin and straight, making you want to order extra. The soup had a hint of pork bone flavor but was a bit too salty for my taste. The complimentary white rice was a nice touch. Personally, I found the soup a bit slimy. The shop had the entrance door open for COVID-19 prevention, which made it cold inside. I would have preferred to enjoy the warm ramen without the chilly draft. Overall, it was a decent ramen spot in Osaka. Address: 1-14-24 Higashi Shinsaibashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka, Osaka Prefecture. Phone: 06-6245-7628. I think it was around 3 o'clock when I stopped by after drinking in Minami. I waited a total of over 30 minutes outside and inside until the ramen arrived. I think it must be tough for just one staff member. I ordered the rich pork bone pottage soup black pork bone soy sauce ramen. It has a fragrant black ma-yu oil. It feels more rich from the cream than the pork bone. The noodles are medium-thin straight noodles. It's nice to have a place where you can eat pork bone ramen as a finishing touch even after drinking too much. I'm full again today after drinking the soup.

It's always nice to stop by after getting a bit chilly. We had to wait a bit because it was full, but eventually three of us got in. The rich pork bone potage soup brought back memories, although I couldn't quite remember the taste. I tried the black tonkotsu soy sauce ramen with a half-boiled seasoned egg for an extra ¥1000. It was delicious - the pork bone flavor was rich but the soup was surprisingly light and not too heavy. I could drink it all up! My friend ordered the same and finished it all. I'd like to try the white tonkotsu soy sauce with back fat next time, even though the place is quite small. The location is convenient and I'll definitely come back after a drink. It was delicious! I'll be back for sure!

Thick and rich tonkotsu shoyu ramen at Osaka Mugi Kaze. The exterior of the shop is flashy, but inside it's small with only a counter. They offer a variety of noodles including black and white tonkotsu ramen, salt ramen, tsukemen, and abura soba. The black tonkotsu shoyu ramen I ordered had a nice layer of dark ma-yu oil floating on top. The creamy tonkotsu broth paired well with the fragrant ma-yu oil. The charred garlic also complemented the dish perfectly. The thin noodles were cooked just right, chewy and enjoyable. I finished the meal in no time.

Today's meal was at a ramen shop in Shinsaibashi. I always feel like coming back here regularly! I especially love the mazesoba, it's so addictive! They have a wide variety of ramen so you never get tired of it. They're open late, so it's great for after drinking. Thank you for the meal today as well.

In July of the second year of Reiwa, the black tonkotsu soy sauce ramen costs 870 yen including tax. The ramen itself is delicious, so it's not a disappointment. Being open until early morning in the location of Shinsaibashi is convenient, but in terms of cost performance, it felt a bit lacking.

I was drawn in by the flashy appearance and opened the door. The kitchen is narrow, and so are the counter seats. The distance between the wall that doubles as a door and the chairs is about 50 centimeters. There was only one young staff member in the kitchen. The previous customers were a group from Southeast Asia. They had options like black and white tonkotsu, abura soba, tsukemen, and shio ramen. There was quite a variety to choose from. They also had menus in English and Chinese. I decided to order what seemed to be the recommended ramen. "I'll have the black tonkotsu with a regular size of rice, please." The rice comes in large, medium, or small sizes, and it's complimentary. After the foreign group left, I struck up a conversation with the staff. I thought he was quiet at first, but he turned out to be quite friendly. The black ramen looked just like it sounds, with black garlic oil as its distinctive feature. The creamy tonkotsu soup had a unique touch to it. The charred garlic complements it perfectly. It was delicious. The base soup seems to be a light tonkotsu broth, without any unpleasant smell, enhancing the fragrance of the garlic oil. Perhaps there's also sesame paste in it. It's creamy. The crunchy wood ear mushrooms, substantial chashu, and green onions. Simple ingredients that don't get boring. The thin noodles cooked perfectly, giving a chewy texture. Maybe I didn't need the rice after all. It was a bit too much for an elderly person like me. I heard that the white ramen is known for its back fat, so I'd like to try that too. This restaurant has menus in English and Chinese, probably due to the location attracting many inbound customers. However, considering the current situation, the number of customers must have drastically decreased. I hope the business can still thrive with Japanese customers. Thank you for the meal.

Based on the local information, I tried the abura soba (oil noodles) at this restaurant. It is said to have around 60,000 customers per year, and it was really delicious. If you go to Shinsaibashi, be sure to give it a try. They also serve alcoholic drinks and you can have a final drink to finish off your meal.

I always think it should be more appreciated. Is it because I eat it for breakfast? At least it should be tastier than average ramen. Why isn't there a longer line? There are many mysterious parts. The staff changes regularly, but the tonkotsu flavor remains consistently delicious.

Visited around 10 pm on Saturday night. The ramen at this time is devilishly good. So, feeling guilty, I opted for the oil noodles. They also had a low-calorie menu, so there's a possibility of 0 calories (not really). I ordered a regular size, which was surprisingly filling at 200g. Oil noodles never disappoint, right? But they also don't always hit the mark. I've always wanted to try them at a really delicious restaurant. This place has great opening hours, so it's perfect for a late-night meal after a day out.

I thought about stopping drinking, but ended up coming here for the last drink. Since it was past midnight and most places were closed, I ended up at this place with a very bold exterior. There was only one other customer inside. I sat at the end of the counter and ordered the most basic ramen. The bowl that arrived was blackened with burnt garlic oil? The first bite confirmed my expectations - it was quite oily and had a strong punch of flavor. The toppings and noodles were decent, but nothing particularly memorable. The flavor was on the rich side, making it seem like a good snack. Thank you for the meal.

This restaurant offers rich tonkotsu pottage soup with black tonkotsu soy sauce seasoned with ma-yu, hearty tonkotsu soy sauce with thick back fat, and ultra-rich dipping noodles with pork bone and seafood broth. Located in Shinsaibashi, it is open all day and closed on no days, making it a convenient place to visit. I ordered the "Black Tonkotsu Soy Sauce (850 yen)" which is a light tonkotsu soup with a milky white color. The taste is on the sweeter side, with the added fragrance of ma-yu. The noodles are thin straight noodles with low water content. As expected, it is a ramen that is quite common in style.

I was working in the area of Dotonbori. It's lively at night, but the atmosphere changes during the day. I searched for a ramen shop and found "Osaka Mugi Kaze Shinsaibashi Store" here, so I went to try it. I ordered the main dish, which has two types of tonkotsu ramen, and chose the white tonkotsu shoyu with seasoned egg (970 yen). It may seem pricey when tax is added, but the soup is rich with plenty of pork fat, giving it a mild flavor characteristic of white tonkotsu. The seasoned egg was perfectly cooked, so I'm glad I chose to add it. Despite the higher price, it was a delicious ramen, so I am satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

A shop where you can casually stop by in the middle of the night and enjoy richly flavored tonkotsu ramen (^o^). The soup has a burnt smell that increases your appetite. The noodles are thick and can be slurped down quickly, making it perfect for eating after drinking. Thank you for the delicious meal m(_ _)m.
