I was curious about what kind of place it was from the appearance, so I mustered up the courage to go in. The interior had jazz music playing, and despite it being around 6 pm, I was the only customer! The spacious Japanese-style seating allowed me to relax. They offer self-service for tea and water, which is convenient. For an additional 200 yen, they can turn it into a set meal, so I ordered the fried horse mackerel set meal and grilled offal. The taste was... well, I'd rather not comment on it.

I was looking for a restaurant in the area and decided to try this one for the first time. The water is self-serve. Despite the appearance of the exterior, they also had authentic Chinese dishes on the menu. Surprisingly. For 200 yen, the main dish comes with soup, rice, pickles, and appetizers. This time, I chose the spicy boiled pork as the main dish with this set. I also added mapo tofu to share with my husband. The mapo tofu had a strong flavor of Sichuan pepper and was quite authentic, so it went well with rice. The dishes are well-balanced with plenty of vegetables. The main dishes cost around 800 yen, but with the set, it's only 1000 yen, so it's cheap. The interior was spacious, and surprisingly, it's a good place for a meal even without alcohol. The slightly old-fashioned restroom was a bit of a concern, so I deducted a star.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy both Japanese and Chinese cuisine. I came here for lunch for the first time. The atmosphere is refreshing. I felt that maybe it would be better in the evening rather than during the bright daylight. I had a hard time deciding what to eat and ended up choosing the simmered fish set meal. The nicely sized simmered sea bream was served on a nice plate. You can enjoy the deliciousness of the sea bream with just the right amount of simmering. The seasoning is on the heavier side, with a concentrated soy sauce flavor and quite a bit of sweetness. I'm the type of guy who can't eat fish heads, so while the first half looked nice and fish-like, I thought the tail end was better. There is a machine that serves green tea, roasted tea, or coffee for free in the restaurant, which was a nice touch. The cups were from IKEA, which made me happy as I wanted to try them. If I come back next time, I will try the Chinese menu.

Hamasu in Hakozaki offers a great deal for casual drinking. The restaurant used to be located in Nishi Nakasu. It's a bold move to relocate to this area, as there are frequent changes in the shops here. The sign outside caught my eye - steak and beer for 980 yen, what a great deal. The main seating consists of box-shaped tables, with a few counter seats as well. They even have a decorative piece from Hakozaki Shrine. I enjoyed a draft beer and the steak, which came with a good amount of vegetables. The meat was a bit tough in some parts, but overall, it was worth it for the price. If they can offer this quality at such a low price, they are really putting in effort.

Cafeteria? But the taste is like a high-class restaurant! The soft serve ice cream is also amazingly delicious!! The thickness of the fried horse mackerel and the spicy and delicious mapo tofu made me eat three bowls of rice!!! Thank you for the feast♪

The chili oil was delicious and went well with alcohol, but it made me want to eat rice, so I added a set meal. The side dishes were also delicious, and the shrimp and sweet and sour pork were stylish and flavorful, all of them were delicious. This is a restaurant I definitely want to visit again.
