I visited a Chinese restaurant near Nankai Minatomachi Station for the first time in December 2020! Just when I was thinking of going there again, in early April, I received a message from an acquaintance saying that the restaurant was closed... Closed? Temporarily closed?? But then... I got a new piece of information! The restaurant had actually relocated and reopened with a new look a little further from the station. I went there right away to try their ramen set meal!
Visit on April 25th: This place, with garages lined up, was where the new restaurant was located. Before the opening, it wasn't clear if it was a restaurant. As the opening time approached, the shutters opened! Oh, "Chinese Cuisine Azuma" appeared! It opened on April 22nd. They opened at 12 o'clock, and 15 minutes before that, they opened the restaurant and there were many congratulatory flowers. Despite no prior announcements, it seems to be a restaurant that has been loved by the local community for almost 50 years, with many regular customers.
The menu seems to be the same as before, and the prices haven't changed much. For some reason, there are no dumplings on the menu, but you can get gyoza for 250 yen. The restaurant is run by a mother and son. I ordered the large ramen set meal for 750 yen.
This ramen, with a chicken bone soy sauce flavor, is like a typical Chinese noodle soup. The large set meal is a regular size, and the normal set meal is a smaller portion of fried rice, which is 100 yen cheaper than ordering them separately. The pork char siu has no fat, and the thin wavy noodles are served in a refreshing soup with bean sprouts, green onions, and naruto as standard toppings. The light and mild flavored fried rice was delicious, and I finished it all with satisfaction. Thank you for the meal!
On that day, many regular customers seemed to be visiting one after another, and the restaurant was busy with no time to spare. They have shortened operating hours. I went for a lunch ride on my mini bicycle on a Friday after eating. The previous location of the restaurant is currently available for rent.
