It was delicious!! I love mapo tofu, but this might be on par with chili renge oil in my book!

I have visited this restaurant many times, and in my opinion, their mapo tofu is by far the most delicious. I have been here for both lunch and dinner, and besides the mapo tofu, the karaage and dim sum were also incredibly tasty. I remember that the karaage used to come with a small portion during lunch, but now you have to order it separately.

Personally, I'm not good with spiciness and numbness, but I decided to try it this time because I was invited. The mapo tofu that was brought to me looked authentic at first glance. I could feel the numbness from the first bite. It was said to be all-you-can-eat rice, so I finished my rice with about 30% of the mapo tofu and then got a refill. By the time I finished eating, I was feeling a bit tired and had heartburn from the spiciness and numbness... Maybe I ate too much rice with the mapo tofu, but I recommend it for mapo tofu lovers.

I went to the restaurant for lunch at 11:37. I had a ¥500-off coupon for AU Pay, but when I arrived, I found out that the lunch prices had changed today. The previous set menu was a better deal. How much will it cost if I add Yodare chicken and almond jelly to my order? It will be an additional ¥300. It's a bit disappointing that the prices went up by ¥300 compared to yesterday. Oh well, the new set menu comes with zaisai, so it's not too bad. I ordered Shin-chan's mapo tofu with rice, and they offer free rice refills. Unfortunately, they couldn't accept AU Pay at the time of payment, but they refunded the coupon amount. They said it will be usable soon.

I couldn't eat Mapo Tofu anymore, so I decided to try the restaurant with a nice name today. I also thought about making my own Mapo Tofu like Kiririnpa. It took a bit of time for the food to be served. First, I tried the appetizer, saliva chicken. It was really delicious. The soup had a strong flavor, very tasty. Now, for the Mapo Tofu. First bite, hmm? The punch was a bit mild, but it came through later on. Maybe it could use a bit more kick? Next time, I'll try the First Love dish. It was delicious when eaten with rice. I'll definitely be getting a second helping of rice. The minced meat did a great job. Thank you for the meal.

Today, after watching the movie "Tofu Shop in Takano's Spring," I decided to visit "Mapo Tofu Shin," thinking there was no better time. I had been looking forward to visiting since it opened on November 2, 2022. I ordered "Shin-chan's Mapo Tofu" for 1,300 yen, which I assumed was the introductory dish. It came with drool chicken and almond tofu. The bright red chili oil whetted my appetite. While it wasn't extremely spicy, as I reached the second half, I couldn't stop sweating. It felt satisfying. I couldn't resist getting a second serving of rice, which turned out to be just the right amount to feel content. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Alright, next time I'll challenge the "First Love Mapo Tofu." I'll walk the path with determination and stealth, with no regrets in the end.

Shin-chan's mapo tofu with added egg topping is incredibly delicious. The spiciness is just right, not too overwhelming, and the heat level is perfect. The meat is well-seasoned, with a hint of sweetness in the background that makes it irresistible. The broth has a nice balance that complements the dish well, and the saliva chicken is tasty with a slight tang. Surprisingly, even the almond jelly, which I usually don't like, is creamy and very delicious. I will definitely be coming back here again.

The stylish restaurant "Shinchan's Mapo Tofu" opened last November. You can casually enjoy Mapo Tofu for 1,300 yen. It comes with drool chicken and almond jelly for soup. You can get seconds of rice. The Mapo Tofu is delicious with a good amount of tofu and rich flavor. It's quite authentic with a generous amount of chili oil, making it spicy but not too overpowering. If you like spicy food, you'll enjoy it. Popular Mapo Tofu restaurants usually have long lines, but if you want to easily enjoy delicious Mapo Tofu, this place is recommended. Instagram: @masayan.310

St. Regis Hotel's "Huatou Restaurant" supervised by the head chef offers a mapo tofu dish. For lunch, only set menus are available, so I ordered Shin-chan's mapo tofu for 1300 yen including tax. You can have unlimited rice refills. I love mapo tofu and have tried it at various places, but this one is quite authentic and delicious. I started sweating while eating. The oshibori (wet towel) provided is very large and seems to be designed for wiping the face.

I was curious because I've been seeing a lot of Uber ads lately, so when I happened to pass by the front of the restaurant and saw the outdoor advertisement saying "Are you ready to be thrilled?", I was inspired to enter immediately. Inside the restaurant, there were young women and local couples. I chose the spicier option out of the two lunch choices: 1. Shin-chan's Mapo Tofu and 2. First Love Mapo Tofu. The difference was in the spiciness, so I chose option 2. After about 10 minutes, the dish arrived. The amount of oil was so overwhelming that I was put off even before eating it. I thought, "I should leave this." I didn't need rice in my case, but there was so much oil that I couldn't help but touch it a little. It was spicy, but lacked flavor, and instead of umami, there was an excessive amount of oil. Additionally, I didn't like the firm tofu that resembled cotton tofu. Recently, there have been many restaurants serving delicious Mapo Tofu, so I felt that this quality might be quite challenging. Rather than being authentic, the main concern was whether it was tasty or not. Also, the greasy and unappetizing feeling really put me off. I wonder if the grandpas and grandmas who were at the restaurant were okay (laughs).

There is a new restaurant in Shinmachi, a hot spot for mapo tofu, that offers two types of mapo tofu sets for lunch. I usually like spicy food, but this time I went for the regular flavor. The chef, who trained at the Szechuan-style Hua Du restaurant at the St. Regis Hotel in Honmachi, runs the place. Expectations are high! The set includes mapo tofu, saliva chicken, soup, rice, and almond jelly for dessert. The mapo tofu might be a bit spicy for those who are not fond of heat, but it is relatively mild for authentic Szechuan mapo tofu. The fragrance of cinnamon is quite pronounced, and the dish is packed with chunks of meat and well-drained tofu. The saliva chicken is cooked at low temperature, making it tender and moist. Lastly, the almond jelly is not like the ones you find in hotel Chinese restaurants. I might try the spicy version next time!

The mapo tofu had a strong meaty flavor with plenty of chili oil, making it addictive. The restaurant was labeled as "numbing," but it wasn't too overpowering, so even those who are sensitive to spice should be fine. The tofu was firm and the seasoning was elegant, making it a great match with rice. The set meal included saliva chicken, almond jelly, and egg soup for 1300 yen, which seemed a bit pricey for lunch. I'm considering revisiting. The interior was lovely and cozy, and the food was delicious. Definitely worth a try.

I happened to come across a specialty store for Mapo Tofu and decided to try it. The Mapo Tofu had just the right level of spiciness and was delicious. It ranked quite high among all the Mapo Tofu I've had before. The almond jelly was also very tasty with just one bite. I would like to try it again at night next time.

"I came to try Shin-chan's mapo tofu (1300 yen) (≧∇≦) ★ Free rice refill on first visit to this restaurant. I received a recommendation and decided to come here♪ Arrived 10 minutes before opening, no waiting. Shin-chan's mapo tofu, mapo tofu, authentic drooling chicken, white rice (free refill), soup of the day, almond jelly. I'm honestly not a fan of mapo tofu with a lot of oil, but the seasoning here is wonderful and makes you want to keep eating♪ I'm grateful for being introduced to such a lovely restaurant♪"

I recommend repeating the mapo tofu at Shin in Osaka Shinmachi. If you want to eat delicious mapo tofu easily, this is the perfect place. I think the famous restaurant Chirirenge has better taste, but it's hard to wait in line. This restaurant, which is particular about mapo tofu, is satisfying enough and recommended. The menu includes Shin-chan's mapo tofu lunch set for 1,300 yen and the super spicy Hatsukoi mapo tofu for 1,400 yen. Served with mapo tofu, drool chicken, corn soup, almond jelly. Rice is all-you-can-eat. Budget: 1,300 yen.

I visited a Ma Po Tofu specialty restaurant that opened three months ago. It is located near a famous ramen shop. I was able to be seated right away when I went there at the opening. The spiciness was just right for me. It's nice that you can get free rice refills at Ma Po Tofu specialty restaurants. I think 1,300 yen is expensive, but considering the high cost of living here, I guess it can't be helped. Thank you for the meal.

It was near my house, so I visited out of curiosity. It was packed during lunchtime on a day off. I waited for a little while. There were only two lunch menu options: - Shin-chan's Mapo Tofu Set for 1,300 yen - Hatsukoi Mapo Tofu Set for 1,400 yen I don't like spicy food, so I chose Shin-chan's Mapo Tofu Set. The set includes mapo tofu, drool chicken, white rice, soup of the day, and almond jelly. The white rice is all-you-can-eat, which is nice for men. The lunch is all about the mapo tofu! It's quite confident. I went to try it out, but even though I don't like spicy food, it was too spicy. It was just spicy without any depth of flavor. It numbed my mouth to the point where I couldn't finish it. I couldn't taste any umami or richness, just the spiciness of the mapo tofu. My partner had the Hatsukoi, and he said it was even spicier. Unless you really want to eat it even if you have to get more rice, in an area with many delicious mapo tofu options, this one was not to my liking.

I went to Ma Po Tofu Shin, which opened last month in Shinmachi, Osaka. The conclusion is that the Ma Po Tofu is delicious. The menu includes Shin-chan's Ma Po Tofu lunch set for 1,300 yen and probably the very spicy Hatsukoi Ma Po Tofu for 1,400 yen. The regular Ma Po Tofu is quite spicy, and you can tell why the Hatsukoi version is for those who can handle even more heat. Other dishes include saliva chicken, corn soup, and almond jelly. You can have unlimited rice refills. As for the Ma Po Tofu, the taste is almost perfect, but I prefer the minced meat to have a bit more texture. Budget: 1,300 yen.

I was curious about the sign outside the construction site, so when I passed by after a long time, I decided to go in as it was open. There are two types of mapo tofu: regular and extra spicy. I chose the regular mapo tofu set meal. It came with saliva chicken, almond jelly, rice, and soup for 1300 yen. The mapo tofu was rich in flavor, with plenty of chili oil, similar to the flavorful mapo tofu from the previous restaurant, Sora Xin, in this area. Personally, I thought it could use a bit more tofu. It gave more of a impression of meat miso than mapo tofu. The rice was firm and went really well with the mapo tofu. The spiciness was just right and easy to eat. The soup was delicious too, and overall, I was very satisfied. The saliva chicken was a bit different from what I usually have, with a mild spiciness and rich flavor. Many people mention that it is expensive, but I thought the almond jelly was rich and of high quality, so I don't think the value for money is bad, although it might be considered expensive for a business lunch. The saliva chicken was also delicious, so I am curious about this place for dinner as well.

Ma Po Tofu Shin Osaka Shinmachi (4 minutes walk from Yotsubashi Station) This time, I ordered the Hatsukoi Ma Po Tofu (1400yen). The menu only offers two options: Shin-chan's Ma Po Tofu (1300yen) and the Hatsukoi Ma Po Tofu. I wanted something more stimulating, so I went with the Hatsukoi Ma Po Tofu. The set that comes with the Ma Po Tofu includes: - Spicy Ma Po Tofu - Authentic drooling chicken - Steamed rice - Today's soup - Almond jelly Rice is free for refills! The Ma Po Tofu is generously oily. When I took the first bite, it didn't seem too spicy, but the heat gradually builds up. It wasn't numbingly spicy, so I was able to keep eating. The generous amount of oil may divide opinions among diners. I'm curious about Shin-chan's Ma Po Tofu. It's nice that it comes with drooling chicken and almond jelly! Ma Po Tofu with almond jelly is the best. The restaurant has a stylish atmosphere that feels like a Ma Po Tofu specialty shop. The neon panda character inside the store sparkles brightly. It seems like it would transform into a more stylish Chinese bar at night. Osaka City Nishi Ward Shinmachi 1-25-3 8R BId. 506-4395-5020 ⏱ 11:30-15:00 18:00-22:00 Sundays.

Shin-chan's Mapo Tofu for 1300 yen. I had been curious about this restaurant that I saw on Instagram. The order arrived in about 10 minutes. It looked quite oily at first glance. It wasn't very spicy at first, but as I continued eating, the spiciness of the Sichuan pepper and chili pepper hit me directly, creating a stimulating and delicious flavor. It went really well with rice! They mentioned that refills were possible, so I got another serving and placed it on top of the rice, which was delicious. I also tried the saliva chicken in the middle, which had a gentle taste with the sweetness of black vinegar, giving a moment of pause. After finishing the meal, I had almond jelly for a refreshing finish. Thank you for the meal. I sat at the counter seat, and there was a pitcher at the end. Every time someone filled up water, the whole table shook a little, which was a bit surprising at first.
