Dorayaki, Kin-tsuba, and other Japanese sweets. But that doesn't mean I only eat Western sweets. These are souvenirs, you know. Like the bell-shaped ones. People involved with pigs are getting older, so they like this kind of thing. I wonder if eating dorayaki would fully restore my life. With these thoughts in mind, I head back home.

A friend recommended this place, so I decided to visit around 1pm on a weekday. Despite it being a weekday, there was a long line. I hadn't asked what was good to eat, so I thought about it while waiting in line. I wanted to try the strawberry daifuku, but they were already sold out for June. The prices were all on the higher side, about double the normal price. I ended up buying the following: large leaf mochi, suzu monaka, fu no mochi, warabi mochi. The large leaf mochi was honestly not that good. The combination of the large leaf and the mochi inside didn't work well together. It tasted better when I removed the large leaf and just ate the inside. The suzu monaka was cute, so I bought it for someone else, but when I got home, the monaka had become moist. The fu no mochi was delicious! It had a similar taste to the soy milk mochi I had recently. The light mochi with a subtle sweet red bean paste inside was so tasty! This was a big hit. The warabi mochi was just okay. Honestly, I prefer the 100 yen warabi mochi from the supermarket. It was difficult to eat because the kinako powder kept falling off the skewer. I haven't tried the dorayaki yet. Most of the items had a short shelf life, with only three days including the purchase date for the suzu monaka and dorayaki. My top recommendation is definitely the fu no mochi. I will buy only that next time I go. It's a bit pricey at 216 yen, but worth it!

I stopped by the shop before leaving Hakata, wanting to buy something again after having a parfait at the main store the day before. Most of the wagashi products were sold out, so I ended up buying Enmochi. The next morning, I found out that new wagashi products arrive at 9 o'clock, so I bought Enmochi. The combination of lightly sweet red bean paste and chewy dorayaki dough was perfect. The size was small and elegant, which was nice.

Fukuoka main store's Suzukake-san. I had been thinking that I absolutely had to go to Hakata Station in Fukuoka. There were strawberry daifuku lined up because it was strawberry season. A large daifuku with a big sweet strawberry and smooth sweet red bean paste inside. Very delicious. The classic Suzukake senbei was also delicious with large grains of red bean paste! I want to go to the main store next time.

The strongest and super cute set of small dorayaki and monaka! I went to JR Hakata City first thing in the morning to buy a souvenir for my daughter, but surprisingly they hadn't arrived yet. Unfortunately, there was a white paper saying "Currently awaiting stock." I visited other souvenir shops to pass the time and managed to buy them eventually. The "Suzukago Half" costs 1566 yen and comes with 5 pieces in a basket, making me feel cheerful.

There is also a shop in Tokyo, but the main store is in Hakata, and there are many customers at the Hakata Station shop as well. I had never tried it before, so I decided to buy it - ■ Suzuno Mochi 108 Mini Dorayaki. It has a chewy texture with slightly sweet red bean paste. ■ Suzuno Senbei 108. Crispy senbei with red bean paste inside. The size is wonderful, you can easily eat it in one bite. It seems like it would be a popular gift. I'm happy that I can choose one snack at a time! On this day, I chose the summer menu items, Mizuyokan and Ichigo Daifuku. They come in a small paper box with a small spoon, which is cute and gets me excited. The Ichigo Daifuku had juicy strawberries with just the right amount of acidity, and it was delicious. The Mizuyokan was refreshing to eat. These two items were perfect for the summer!

During my trip to Fukuoka from May 28th to 30th, my partner and I were looking for a late-night snack at Hakata Station when we stumbled upon a restaurant called "Suzukake" that looked incredibly delicious. The day before, I had missed out on their limited edition item, the "Ooba Mochi," so I decided to revisit the Suzukake JR Hakata City Deito branch for a second chance. Unfortunately, they were sold out again. Feeling disappointed, I purchased another item, but I can't remember its name due to the shock. As we continued to wander aimlessly, we came across a similar-looking shop, the "Suzukake JR Hakata City Ichibin-dori branch." To my surprise, they still had the "Ooba Mochi" in stock, so I quickly bought it. The mochi, filled with red bean paste and garnished with shiso leaf, had a refreshing aroma and was very delicious. We also enjoyed another dish from the restaurant. Thank you for the delicious meal!

When it comes to traditional Japanese sweets in Hakata, Suzukake is the place to go. Their elegant packaging and carefully crafted wagashi make for a delightful souvenir. Their botamochi and seasonal fresh sweets are a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. The small dorayaki is irresistibly chewy on the outside, and although it doesn't keep well, it's a perfect treat for yourself. This time, I purchased warabimochi and it was absolutely delicious!

I bought a souvenir at "Suzukake" for my parents' house. I say it's a souvenir, but I really just want to eat it myself... The classic Suzunonakama and mini Dorayaki are hard to resist. Strawberry daifuku is also nice. I ended up buying seasonal sweets like cherry leaf mochi and uguisu mochi. The cherry leaf mochi has smooth red bean paste, while the uguisu mochi has chunky red bean paste, both with a refined sweetness typical of Suzukake. I enjoyed them slowly with hot tea at my parents' house! When cherry blossom mochi starts appearing in stores, I feel like spring is coming. It's almost here, I can't wait for spring. Oh! It's rare to find a shop that specializes in dorayaki, so I decided to go in. But to my surprise, they also had "suzuyaki" next to it. I wondered if they were inspired by Doraemon, but it turns out they've been around since 1923, much earlier than Doraemon. My apologies. I thought about getting the specialty suzuyaki, but it looked like it might get squished if I took it to go, so I went with the dorayaki instead. It was simple yet delicious! I later found out that it's only sold in-store, which was probably for the best. Oh! I ate it before taking a picture!

Fukuoka's last day. I decided to buy "Ichigo Daifuku" and "Ohagi" from Suzukake-san as souvenirs. Ohagi should be kept at room temperature. Ichigo Daifuku is said to be delicious when chilled. I returned home and immediately chilled it before eating. The Ohagi was not too sweet, and the bean paste was very tasty, making it easy to eat as many as you want. The Ichigo Daifuku had juicy strawberries and a soft mochi that paired perfectly with the bean paste and strawberry. It was delicious. I would like to come back to Fukuoka during Golden Week and use Suzukake-san again for souvenirs. It was a great meal. Thank you.

It's the equinoctial week, so I had some bellflower-shaped ohagi. I had one with sweet red bean paste and one with kinako powder. The ohagi is more round and three-dimensional than the typical shape, with chewy mochi rice inside when you break it open. Each piece is quite substantial and satisfying. The subtle sweetness is elegant and the texture of the red bean paste adds a nice touch. It was a comforting and happy moment that goes well with tea. The kinako ohagi has a generous amount of smooth red bean paste inside, which pairs well with the kinako powder. Ohagi during the equinoctial week is delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today's pick is this shop located at JR Hakata Station. While looking for something to eat on the Shinkansen, I stumbled upon this shop. It seems that Suzukake-san has been in business in Hakata for nearly 90 years. During this season, you can often see strawberry daifuku, so I couldn't resist ordering it. The dorayaki seems to be made with hand-pounded beans, but what are hand-pounded beans? I looked it up and found out that it refers to white kidney beans, which is basically white sweet bean paste. It was a learning experience. The dorayaki had chunky beans inside, with just the right amount of sweetness and a thin outer layer, making it delicious. The strawberry daifuku was also delicious.

I came to buy bowlo at Suzukake on Nishitetsu Street in Hakata Station. Among traditional Japanese sweets, bowlo is very popular because it is round and easy to eat in one bite. The crispy outer layer and rich red bean paste with a hint of honey flavor are very delicious.

Get off at Hakata Station and before heading to your parents' house, let's buy some snacks. On the first floor of Hakata Station JR HAKATA CITY, there is a souvenir market. There is a section where various specialties of Hakata are gathered. While I was planning to buy "Doraking" (review to be done later), I was drawn to the store across from it. It was a round, white bell-shaped monaka, resembling Doraemon's bell. Next to it was a mini-sized dorayaki. I couldn't resist the cuteness and ended up buying them. The bell-shaped monaka is called "Suzunomonaka". The crispy skin made from sticky rice from Niigata is filled with rich and sweet red bean paste. The mini dorayaki is called "Suzuno ○ Mochi". The hand-baked skin is chewy and the inside has a moist and slightly purple-tinted red bean paste. Both had a captivating taste. I bought them in a basket of 5 each for 1566 yen. It would make a great souvenir, and anyone would be happy to receive it. The shelf life is 2 days. Suzukake, established in 1923, is a traditional Japanese confectionery shop located in Hakata, Fukuoka Prefecture. They also have stores in Tokyo, such as in Shinjuku Isetan and Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. The small size is cute and lovely, but for those with a sweet tooth, one might not be enough. (That's me)
