So we decided to spend time in the hotel until the evening's new theater opening, and went to Tendika to look for snacks. I remembered a sweet potato snack shop that I had been curious about before. Some HKT members mentioned wanting to try it and saying it was delicious! I bought a small bag (500 yen including tax) and brought it back to the hotel. They only keep items on the shelves that were made within the last 12 hours, so we tried it right away. It was crispy, not too sweet, and you could taste the deliciousness of the sweet potato. I didn't eat too much as I didn't want it to affect our evening food tour, so I saved the rest as a souvenir. It was still delicious when I ate it at home a few days later!

This flavor hit the spot for me, so I purchased it. The simple yet elegant taste of the sweet potato kemp, highlighting the deliciousness of the sweet potato, pairs well not only with Japanese tea but also with coffee or black tea. As a commemorative gift, I received a large fresh sweet potato at the Fukuoka and Nihonbashi stores.

Ignoring the trends for now, I visited a shop in the underground shopping area of Tenjin that sells freshly fried "imo kenpi" (sweet potato snacks). The shop is called "Imo-ya Kinjiro Tenjin Store" and it has branches in various locations outside Fukuoka, with the main store in Kochi. If you're a fan of traditional Japanese sweets, you'll definitely enjoy the soft, fragrant, freshly fried "imo kenpi" available here. The shop is located right in the middle of Tenjin's underground shopping area. Upon entering the shop, you'll find not only "imo kenpi" but also other sweet potato snacks like "sweet potato chips" and "sweet potato sweets." This time, I focused on the freshly fried "imo kenpi," but there are other items I'd like to try next time. The shop was quite popular, with a bit of a line at the counter on the day I visited. The freshly fried "imo kenpi" was made within 12 hours of production, and it had a nice softness and a strong sweet potato flavor even after a day. It wasn't too sweet, making it easy to snack on. The price was 450 yen for 150g, which seemed reasonable to me. I hadn't tried freshly fried "imo kenpi" before, but I found it to be delicious and not as boring as the usual ones. I couldn't stop munching on them! I'll definitely want to try them again.

While they have stores in various locations, this is their long-awaited opening in the center of Fukuoka. I was aware of their store in Nihonbashi but had never visited, so I took this opportunity to check it out. The store has a chic atmosphere, with sweet treats and variations of sweet potato snacks lined up in order. They also have freshly fried sweet potato snacks, which are constantly being fried and put into bags. Most people in line were buying the freshly fried sweet potato snacks, which can be considered the store's signature menu item. The freshly fried sweet potato snacks have a strong sweet potato flavor that stands out. While I have tried various sweet potato snacks, these ones stand out as particularly delicious. They have a simple taste but exceed the simplicity of regular sweet potato snacks in terms of flavor. The prices are also reasonable, making them a great option for a small gift. I couldn't stop eating them once I tried them.
