I used to go to Bikkudon a lot when I was in high school. I always order the same thing, grated hamburger steak and potato (which I share). This time, I couldn't finish it all... I used to also drink strawberry milk back in the day, but maybe it's because of my age now. And I remember thinking that Bikkudon's hamburger steak had some kind of magical powder on it that made it taste so delicious, but now when I eat it, it just tastes like a regular hamburger steak (laughs).

I visited this restaurant over 10 years ago, but this time, I came for lunch at the request of my wife. The parking lot and the atmosphere inside the restaurant have not changed at all. The menu hasn't changed much either, as it is a restaurant that serves one-plate meals. My wife ordered the Caliber Burger 400g for ¥1365, and I ordered the Regular Burger for ¥725. I tried to order a beer, but there were no bottled beers available. I remembered that there were no bottled beers even 10 years ago. There was a Donkey Beer House set available, but I could imagine what the hamburger would taste like, so I thought that would be fine. Since it's their own beer, I couldn't tell what it tastes like (laughs). I thought I didn't need to eat the hamburger. Grandpa and dad are happy just watching the children smile with the beer set (laughs). The Caliber Burger is huge in size, with different toppings, but the seasoning is the same for all hamburgers. It was so soft that I couldn't even feel the ingredients inside. The smell of the meat was strong and bothered me. The sauce on top was light, but I couldn't feel any punch, and there were no condiments on the table. I thought that a stronger sauce or adding a lot of onions could cover the smell, but maybe it would no longer be child-friendly. I really wanted some A1 sauce! There were various children's products displayed in front of the register, as this is a shop targeting children. It's not a hamburger where the ingredients stand out and the alcohol goes well. I think it's not a suitable restaurant for men or grandpas. If you are interested, please try it once!

I remember when I was a child, every time I saw a wooden plate, I would say, "This is a Surprised Donkey plate!" The routine of starting with potato fries until the hamburger arrives is a must. I don't know what they put in these fries, but they are incredibly delicious. I'm pretty sure if I came here after a night shift, I would finish them in seconds. This time, I splurged and added a salad. I really like the mayonnaise on this salad. I used to dislike cherry tomatoes, but thanks to this mayo, I now love them. The hamburger arrives – it's still delicious. I don't know why, but it just tastes like Surprised Donkey (obviously). The sauce on this hamburger is what makes it delicious when it mixes a bit with the rice. Since I found out you can add extra hamburger sauce for free, I've been doing it every time. I went to Bikkuri Donkey for the first time in a while, at my sister's request! Since I am on a diet, I didn't have the hamburger dish, instead I had fried potatoes and a mermaid salad. The mermaid salad had shrimp and squid rings on top and it was very delicious! ^o^

Donkey! Lunch Burger Set (Regular) for 807 yen. When driving, lunch options are limited to major chain restaurants and ramen shops. The miso soup was really bad... Even though I usually like soup, I only took a few sips and left the rest.

I felt like eating meat, so I decided to stop by and chose the Menchi Katsu Curry & Hamburg dish. Maybe I should have gotten the rice in a larger portion for a better balance. The taste was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal.

It was a weekday afternoon, so I didn't think it would be too crowded. I made a reservation just in case, but it turned out it wasn't necessary. However, the parking lot was quite full. I ordered my favorite Mermaid Salad in a small size, miso soup, and tried the Curry Burger for the first time. It was delicious. I sat by the window and enjoyed the view outside, although the sunlight was a bit strong.

The strawberry milk is stable, and the cheddar cheese potato is intriguing.

Today, I went to a slightly distant location, but the hamburg steak, which is a frozen food, is sufficient for someone like me who grew up eating at family restaurants.
