I traveled from Fukuoka to Yamaguchi and took a break at the Koga SA rest area. I bought some souvenirs before heading back. Feeling a bit hungry, I decided to buy some Ume-gaeshi mochi, which I haven't had in a while. It costs 150 yen and you can have it warm. It has a comforting taste. Considering the current situation, 150 yen seems like a good deal. I think I'll buy it again. Thank you for the meal.

When you visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, be sure to try the Umebachi Mochi - you can find it at Koga SA. It's a mochi with sweet red bean paste inside, cooked in a mold with four pieces at a time. Once the surface turns a fox-like color, it's ready! The outside is crispy and fragrant, while the inside is chewy mochi with sweet red bean paste. It's irresistible when served hot. You can eat as many as you want, but be careful of diabetes - it's not safe to have more than two pieces per person. It's a joy to watch them make it right in front of you. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I'm in Fukuoka. At the Kyushu Jukan Expressway, there is a shop at the Koga Service Area. I always stop by here because the nori I bought here before was really delicious. So, I bought various souvenirs and when I left the building, I found this shop. Come to think of it, I haven't been able to visit Dazaifu Shrine for a long time. Maybe I should at least get some Umegae mochi? I bought it. The Umegae mochi wrapped in thin plastic was wrapped in paper with a cute plum illustration and was hot and warm. Since it was hot outside, I went back to the car and when I ate it, the outside was not crispy anymore, but rather moist, and the sweet red bean paste was deliciously comforting. It disappeared quickly and I thought maybe I should have bought more, but then I thought it might be just right to want to eat a little more. I want to go to Dazaifu soon and have Umegae mochi again.

During a break from work, I felt like having something sweet, so I stopped by here! One piece costs 130 yen, and I had it piping hot! The sweet bean paste is just the right amount of sweetness. Some people who don't like sweet bean paste can still eat this. Definitely stop by during work or travel!

◉Genre: Japanese sweets, light snacks ◉Area: Fukuoka SA on the Kyushu Expressway ◉Access: - ◉Parking: Available ◉Credit card payment: - ◉Number of visits: 2nd time ◉Number of reviews: 1st time On this day, I decided to stop by "Umegae Mochi" spontaneously. ◇Exterior and Interior The shop is located in a corner of the special food stall section at Fukuoka SA. The exterior exudes a sense of nostalgia. It reminds me of the old days, like the stalls at festivals where I always used to buy from. It reminds me of how my grandma used to love it. ◇Seating It is a take-out only shop, but there is a free open space in front of the shop. ◇Menu They sell the same items as their shop name. The items I ordered are as follows: - Umegae Mochi (130 yen) → I stopped by and ordered 3 pieces. I was lucky to receive them freshly made. They were simply delicious. Not too sweet, just right. The outer layer was hot and fresh. Really delicious. That's all there is to it. ◆Strong Points The nostalgic Umegae Mochi. ◆Customer Service Average. ◆Summary There is no internet price for something as delicious as this. I keep saying it's nostalgic, but that's just my subjective opinion. Haha. I know this review is full of subjectivity, but sometimes it's fun, right? When you stop by, be sure to try it out! Thank you for the meal. ^ ^

Freshly baked umegae mochi is sweet and delicious. Whenever I come to Hakata, I always end up buying some. It's convenient that there is a store at Hakata Station, so I don't have to go all the way to Dazaifu. It costs 150 yen per piece.

I was lucky to be able to enjoy freshly baked goods at Koga Service Area. However, reproducing the crispy and fluffy texture is difficult.

As a big fan of traditional Japanese sweets, one of my favorites is Umebachi Mochi. It's a delicious treat made by wrapping plenty of sweet red bean paste in a thin mochi skin and baking it to perfection. The texture and sweetness are just right. I recommend trying it hot out of the oven for the best experience. You can sometimes find it at department stores in Tokyo during food fairs, so if you get the chance, definitely give it a try. The thin skin somehow manages to keep the red bean paste from oozing out (maybe it's a skill thing), so no need to worry about getting your hands dirty. The red bean paste is not too sweet, making it suitable even for those who don't like overly sweet treats. Just be aware that the taste diminishes significantly when it gets cold. Storing it in the fridge is a no-go. Diet Index: 2. Wrapping bean paste in mochi is a combination to be cautious about when dieting. Furthermore, this sweet is high in carbs due to the generous amount of bean paste.

On August 22, 2011, "I found Ume-gaeshi mochi in an unexpected placeヽ(゜∀゜)ノ Let's take a look." Recently, there are many new stores at Koga SA. Among them, my current favorite is selling Ume-gaeshi mochiヽ(゜∀゜)ノ By the way, what's the name of the store? haha I ordered one to eat right away for myself and three to take home for my family. Wow, the freshly baked one is nice and crispy. Let's take a bite... It's crispy indeed, but quite sweet for my taste (´・ω・) The ones for takeout were wrapped in plastic, so they were a bit moist. Oh well, nothing can be done about that (゜Д゜) haha ★ It's not as good as "Oishiya," but having one freshly baked when you're tired from driving is not a bad ideaヽ(゜∀゜)ノ

Long time no see, Umegashira Mochi-san. I received it as a souvenir from Kyushu and ate it after thawing it out in the microwave. It was chewy and delicious, with a simple and light sweetness. It's more like a grilled rice cake than mochi, and it's really good.
