We ordered: - Xiao Long Bao (165 yen) x2 - Spicy Cod Roe Oil Dumplings (385 yen) - XO Sauce Mayo Chicken (385 yen) - Coriander Black Vinegar Dumplings (385 yen) Xiao Long Bao was a genuine type with juicy meat juice overflowing. The Spicy Cod Roe Oil Dumplings were a bit too heavy due to the oil, so it might have been better to eat them separately. We had another round of beer, this time with a lemon sour. The jugs had interesting phrases written on them, which we found amusing. We skipped the Coriander Black Vinegar Dumplings due to not liking coriander. The skin was chewy and the filling was juicy and flavorful. The lemon sour went well with it. We finished with a Mega Lemon Sour. Chick Inn Dim Sum Set ¥1,320 (tax included) A new cost-effective menu has been introduced at the popular Chinese pub "Chick Inn" in the Doyama area of Osaka, so I went to check it out. You can choose 5 items from various Chinese dishes such as dim sum, and it comes with a beautiful blooming Chinese craft tea for ¥1,320. The tea alone usually costs around ¥1,500 at other places! And you can have unlimited refills of hot water with the long jug-like teapot they provide. The menu has a variety of dishes to choose from, making it hard to decide what to order. The building itself has a charming atmosphere, resembling a dining hall from a foreign land like in Spirited Away. It would be fun to go with a group of friends and order a variety of dishes to share. Of course, be sure to follow the COVID-19 prevention measures. The homemade xiaolongbao and wasabi shumai are must-tries. The Taiwan omelette is fluffy with delicious sauce on top. For dessert, the cute chick custard bun is recommended. We decided to try the large serving lunch menu at this restaurant, and the pork cutlet looked delicious so we went in. Along with me, two others ordered the mapo tofu hamburger set. The pork cutlet was listed as 300g, but when it arrived, there was even more... 8 fist-sized pieces of fried pork cutlet. I managed to eat 6 pieces, and the other 2 were shared between the other two. The black oolong tea was also all-you-can-drink. The soup that came with the set meal was delicious. Perhaps because we had a late lunch, we didn't feel like having dinner afterwards.

The food is delicious but lacks a sense of volume. I used a coupon so I was able to order at a good deal. They said it's a one drink system, but I'm not sure if that's true. I don't really understand the system. The appetizer portion costs around 300-400 yen...

The gyoza came in a plate of 3, and the fried rice was about half the size I expected, so I ended up feeling quite full｡·͜·｡ The chick-shaped steamed bun was cute and delicious with custard! As I was walking towards the east in the Higashi-Nakadori shopping street, I came across a pink, extravagant Chinese restaurant. I thought to myself how unusual the lighting color was and entered with a casual attitude. They handed me a QR code, indicating that I had to place my order myself. Quite bothersome. I ordered a highball and various dishes. The appetizer was spicy edamame, which was not bad. The stir-fried vegetables seemed to be pea shoots and Chinese cabbage, cooked just right for my taste. The dumplings were average, but the menu showed cilantro-like garnish which was missing. The oysters, depicted with multiple pieces in the menu photo, turned out to be just one piece, shifting from a sense of affordability to overpricing. It seems to be popular among young customers on Instagram. Please cater to that clientele. Overall, I would rate it as 2 out of 5 stars.

A cute neon-lit shop with a touch of exotic atmosphere, reminiscent of Jiufen. I made a reservation for 8:00 pm but it was fully booked. Each table had a cute mask and the menu was behind it. It looks great in photos! I ordered using a QR code. - Tan Tan skewers 660 yen - Mapo tofu 638 yen - Mao Zedong potato salad 385 yen - Chick custard 253 yen I love raw food, so I was happy to see a variety of options. They also had raw liver with garlic and raw shredded pork with green peppers. And it's all affordable! The Mao Zedong potato salad was delicious with a spicy kick from the chili oil. The chick custard that I had decided to order before even going was adorable! If I had more room in my stomach, I would have ordered a few more.

I tried a course meal with all-you-can-drink for a reasonable price of 2980 yen (tax included). The restaurant was packed with 15 groups waiting when I arrived, and it seems almost impossible to get in without a reservation on weekends. You order drinks through a QR code, and the portions of the courses were small but the drinks made up for it. The appetizers and raw chili beef were delicious. The main dish, a whole drooling chicken, was huge and too salty for my taste. I had to ask the staff to cut it for me. The mapo tofu was on the saucy side, but it went well with drinks. The Taiwanese fried chicken was tasty and crispy. The fried rice was light, and it paired nicely with a little bit of the drooling chicken. Although the selling point was the all-you-can-drink, the service was slow due to the crowd and lack of staff. You can only order up to 6 drinks, and the staff, aside from the owner, had limited Japanese skills, so be cautious. On the other hand, the owner's service was excellent, even offering me a drink after the all-you-can-drink ended. I hope they can gather more staff soon!

When I left the fish store Tetuko and walked back to the main street in Doyama-cho, the atmosphere was much brighter with more hostesses trying to attract customers (lol). I still just walked by, though (lol). Oh, you might think I'm not interested in women? No, no, as a cool and dandy reviewer, I can see how I might be misunderstood, but of course I like women (//∇//). I just prefer to enjoy good beer with good food and don't feel the need to go to hostess clubs or girls' bars just to have a conversation. So naturally, I find myself heading to food and drink establishments (lol). I spotted a flashy neon-lit restaurant on the right side, which turned out to be Chick Rice Shop, a Chinese restaurant. It felt a bit out of place, but since I don't often come to Doyama-cho, I decided to give it a try. As I walked in, I found the interior to have a trendy NEO public bar vibe and it was quite crowded. It seemed to be a popular spot. After a short wait, I was guided to a counter seat near the entrance, where I felt a bit out of place among the young women and male groups around me. Little did I know that right nearby was the top Osaka reviewer, or rather, the Food King of Tabelog. I hadn't expected that (lol). I started off by ordering a draft beer (Premium Malt) and some edamame as a snack. Normally, I wouldn't order more, but the food took a while to arrive, so my glass was empty by then, leading to an additional order. The dishes I ordered from the menu were fried rice with five ingredients and pan-fried dumplings. The fried rice was surprisingly delicious, with pieces of char siu adding a nice touch. The prices were quite affordable, and I didn't have high expectations for the food, given the emphasis on the atmosphere in such places. But it turned out to be quite tasty (*≧∀≦*). I also like the fried rice at Ousho, by the way. You might think, is this old man okay if he thinks chain store food is delicious? But on the contrary, if the food isn't good, the chain store wouldn't survive before expanding. So don't underestimate chain stores, they can't be that bad. As for the pan-fried dumplings, they were okay, nothing special. I should have ordered the black vinegar pork instead, thinking about the next restaurant. I made a slight mistake in my choice there. The total bill came to 2079 yen, a bit higher than at Ousho due to the snack, but I'll consider it the cost of the atmosphere (^^)v. I might come back to this place again (*\(^o^)/*

It's been a while since I visited the East Street shopping district, which has turned into a complete drinking alley. I was surprised to see new shops opening up, and even more surprised that you can now enjoy day drinking here. I was drawn in by the cheap drinks and found a place with no customers, so it felt like a private party. We ordered by scanning a QR code. We started with a plain sour for 242 yen (tax included) and some edamame for 220 yen (tax included). The edamame was a bit better than the usual macaroni salad. We also ordered some Mao Zedong potato salad, grilled dumplings, two buns, and Tonporo. The Mao Zedong dish turned out to be pork belly with spicy oil on top, which was surprisingly delicious. The grilled dumplings were tasty but forgettable, and we were unsure what the buns and Tonporo were, but they turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The pork belly sandwich was a hit. Overall, it was a great experience of leisurely day drinking with affordable and delicious food. The place may not be well-known yet, but it offers a relaxing atmosphere and good value for money.

I had some time to spare so I went to a Chinese restaurant. I ordered the Shredded Pork with Green Peppers and Ma Po Bamboo Shoots, along with a side of Spicy Menma and Peperoncino Edamame. The Ma La Menma was flavorful for its price of 180 yen. The Shredded Pork with Green Peppers was delicious with crispy bell peppers and bamboo shoots. The atmosphere was lively with mostly young people, making me feel a bit out of place as a solo older man. The restroom is located on the second floor.

Around 7:30 pm, I wandered around looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon this restaurant. It had a second floor seating area, which seems to be a popular trend lately. I tried their xiaolongbao, which was pretty tasty, but I made a mistake while eating it and the juice splattered all over me, so I couldn't fully enjoy it. The restaurant seems to cater to young people and those looking to drink, as it has a casual vibe. The staff seemed a bit indifferent, only doing the bare minimum like taking orders and serving food. I tried to find a toothpick, but there were some placed next to the table along with chopsticks.

Today, I was strolling around the Higashi-dori Shotengai in Umeda, which was quite rare for me. Despite the difficult times, there were quite a few shops working hard to stay open. I felt like eating gyoza and found this restaurant. I was drawn in by the 220 yen (excluding tax) sour drinks. There are counter seats and table seats available. I chose a seat at the counter. I ordered a plain sour drink, gyoza, and stir-fried greens. Edamame was served as a complimentary appetizer. The edamame had a hint of sesame oil, which left a good impression. It was a delicious dish to accompany the drinks. The gyoza was well-seasoned and tasty on its own. The juicy filling was delicious. They also provided soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil to make a dipping sauce for the gyoza. The drinks went down smoothly. The stir-fried greens were light and maintained a crunchy texture, making it another tasty dish to accompany the drinks. It had a nice hint of sesame and a subtle garlic flavor. This restaurant, where I casually dropped by, was a great first stop and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Delicious! You can fully enjoy the feeling of Taiwan here. The xiaolongbao is even better than a famous Taiwanese one, with thin skin and juicy filling! The shumai and dumplings are also delicious, and the Taiwanese-style fried chicken is huge and amazing! The prices are reasonable and overall it's a great place. However, the service is a bit lacking, with slow service and not very friendly kitchen staff. If they improve that, it will surely become very popular!

It's great for going out to eat with someone you're meeting for the first time - not too formal, but still delicious! The glasses also have interesting words written on them, which can be a great conversation starter! Recommended dishes include the "drool-inducing chicken" - be warned, despite being only 780 yen, the portion is really big and two people might not be able to finish it! Also, try the "raw chingaorosu" - it's like the dish from Spirited Away where the father turns into a pig!
