On Saturday at 3:00 PM, I went to "Sosaku Curry Tsukinowa" in Tanimachi Rokuchome. The daily curry was "Mutton Keema" but it was already sold out. I had a choice between "Chicken Curry" and "Keema Curry". I chose the "Chicken Curry (1,000 yen)" with extra spicy level and turmeric rice. It arrived in 5 minutes. The portion was large and visually impressive. The curry was delicious, with a thin consistency and a perfect balance of spices. It was packed with purple onions, cabbage, pickled daikon, carrots, and cabbage. The chicken was tender and flavorful, cooked with eggplant until it was soft. According to the description, the curry is made with a dashi base from bonito, kelp, and dried sardines, and a miso-flavored soup with a unique blend of spices. It has a unique flavor but in a good way, with an exquisite balance. It's no wonder this place is popular, as it's sure to win over many fans. Thank you for the meal.

It looks cute with a pink color, and it has salmon and eggplant chunks. You can choose between turmeric and brown rice (limited to 10 servings), but on this day, brown rice was sold out. The restaurant has only 10 counter seats. The entrance is on the second floor, and surprisingly the line was formed from there upwards haha. I arrived around 12 o'clock and waited for about 4 groups (15 minutes) before being seated!! Visit time: 12:13 on a weekday Waiting time: None Menu: Chicken curry 1,000 yen + Mini keema 250 yen + Smoked quail 120 yen Today, I was craving curry so I was deciding where to go near my office and ended up at Tsukinowa. The curry here is delicious with its watery consistency. Even though it's watery, the spices are amazing. There's plenty of meat in it and the cost performance is good, so I end up coming here often. I went for the spicy option again this time. The level of spiciness was just right and it was delicious. Personally, I think Tsukinowa is the best place for watery curry. Thank you for the meal.

Visited before 7:00 PM. I went once at lunchtime and it was quite crowded, so I couldn't go back during my lunch break, so I came back at night. I was looking forward to the daily curry, but it was already sold out > < so I had the Chicken Curry and Keema Curry from the regular menu. I kept the spiciness as it is, so it wasn't too spicy and I could enjoy the rich flavor. I loved it so much! After leaving the restaurant, I couldn't stop sweating, maybe because of the spices, but I will definitely go back again.

When I returned to my hometown, I made a detour to Osaka and found a creative curry soup restaurant called Tsukino. It was a bustling place with only a counter, and customers were coming and going constantly. It made me realize how popular the place was. The spiciness was not too strong, making it easy to eat. It was delicious! ✨

I found a job nearby and searched for lunch on Tabelog. There are many curry restaurants in this area, so I decided to try my first ever spicy curry. The restaurant had only counter seats, and the atmosphere was casual with friendly staff. I ordered a basic chicken curry. The taste of the first spicy curry was surprisingly light and very easy to eat! However, I started sweating slowly afterwards. Is this what spicy curry feels like?! When I paid, the staff mentioned that a comedian is also a regular customer. I definitely want to meet the comedian next time! Thank you for the meal.

First visit to this restaurant. Arrived at 15:25 and no wait. Just made it in time! Ordered chicken curry (1000 yen) with medium spice, turmeric rice, mini keema (+250 yen), and smoked quail (+120 yen). Grateful that they are open until 4 pm! Opening hours are until 4 pm, but they are open on weekends too, which is great. Thought there might be a long line because they are a popular spot, but we were able to get in without waiting at 3:30. Impressed by the taste. The chicken was flavorful and the keema was delicious. I used to not like spicy curry, but recently I've been enjoying it more. It made me realize how important it is to choose the right restaurant to eat at. The smoked quail was also good. Just wanted to mention that they are open on weekends, serve lunch until 4 pm, and are open for dinner on Tuesdays from 6 pm.

I visited the restaurant around 12:30 on a holiday. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of a building, and there were about 3 groups waiting in line from the entrance of the restaurant, so I waited for about 25 minutes before entering. I ordered the chicken curry (1,000 yen). There was also keema curry (1,000 yen) and a daily special curry (1,200 yen) available. You could choose the spiciness level of the curry, so I chose medium spicy to one level above. The curry had just the right amount of spiciness from the spices, and I ended up eating it all in one go. Surprisingly, there was a good amount of food, and I noticed some women leaving leftovers. I couldn't stop sweating while eating, but I managed to finish it all. Thank you for the meal!

I live nearby, and around 2 pm on the Saturday after the Bon Festival, I passed by and noticed that the usual line at the stairs was not there, so I thought it might be empty and decided to go in. When I entered, there was only one group, so I thought it might be empty because of the Bon Festival, but then about three more groups came in and it became the usual crowded atmosphere. I have been here twice before, but this is my first time posting a review. I ordered the daily special duck and leek curry. The brown rice was sold out, so I got turmeric rice instead. I chose the medium spiciness level, which was a 1 out of 10, so it wasn't very spicy, but as I ate, I started to feel warm and sweat a little, so I realized that the spices were working. The overall portion size was the same as usual, and at first glance on the flat plate, it looked like it could be easily eaten, but the thin curry, ingredients, and pickles-like side dish made me feel satisfied as I ate. Today's daily special had lots of duck meat in it, and I was satisfied with the taste and portion size. It's convenient because it's close to my home, but this is the curry shop in Osaka where I have been the most satisfied.

Ordered the Mustard BBQ Beef Keema as the daily special for the fourth time. Despite its junky appearance, it was surprisingly delicious. The combination of the light chicken broth curry, rich BBQ-flavored keema, and the perfect balance of mustard was outstanding.

Visited on a Friday around 12:40 on a weekday. The restaurant was empty when I arrived, but quickly filled up. I ordered the chicken curry for ¥1000 and a mini keema for ¥250. The curry had a strong Osaka-style broth flavor, and the texture was on the watery side. It was delicious. The restaurant was popular among salarymen, and there were also many people waiting outside.

After 2 pm, a few junior high school students arrived one after another, and the restaurant was almost full. The store has two floors with a counter along one side. Today, they only had chicken curry left. I ordered the chicken curry with a small keema topping for 1250 yen. The small keema was delicious. The Lucky Curry, which was the last order, had a strong spice flavor with a hint of dashi broth. It was spicy and made me sweat a lot, but the spiciness didn't linger afterwards. On the other hand, the vegetables (eggplant and radish provided) were sweet, creating a perfect balance of spiciness and sweetness in the curry.

Chicken Curry 1,000 yen Mini Keema 250 yen I finally went to "Tsukino Wa," a place I've always wanted to visit! It's a small restaurant with only 10 counter seats. I was prepared for a long line, but it wasn't the case. However, it was just fully seated when I arrived, so I had to wait for about 10 minutes. The menu offers three options: "Chicken Curry," "Keema Curry," and "Daily Special Curry." Based on reviews, I decided to go with the recommendation of adding a "Mini Keema" topping to the "Chicken Curry" to enjoy both flavors. The curry was more watery than I expected, similar to soup curry. The umami of the Japanese broth and the spiciness of the spices were addictive. The chicken was large and satisfying to eat. The small amount of Mini Keema topping also made a significant impact! Since it was my first visit, I chose the Chicken Curry, but next time, I'll go for the full Keema Curry. Thank you for the meal! In the fiercely competitive area for curry, Nan Kyuhouji, this famous restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 curry restaurants in 2019, 2020, and 2022. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a run-down apartment building along the circular elevated line in Nan Kyuhouji, but it can be quite difficult to find, so be careful. As it was my first visit, I ordered the classic chicken curry. The chicken curry was served with a generous amount of sauce overflowing around the turmeric rice, creating a vibrant appearance and emitting various spice aromas. The broth had a rich flavor with the addition of Japanese-style dashi, and the cardamom and coriander spices added a nice accent to the taste. Recently, there has been a significant increase in creative curries rather than traditional Indian curries, with a focus on creating flavors that suit the Japanese palate by emphasizing the use of dashi and continuously evolving the dishes.

Osaka spice curry has a subgenre called "Japanese-style dashi curry". It is inevitable that Indian spices and Japanese dashi meet here in Japan. There are many famous restaurants such as "Botanikari", "Former Yam Mansion", "Rainbow Buddha", "Babylon Tower", and "Wakka", which moved to Tokyo. "Tsukinowa" started as a pop-up curry shop and opened a physical store in 2016. Their concept is to create a curry that combines the everyday flavors of Japanese dashi and the bursting sensation of spices. They are highly praised for the harmony of dashi (made from kombu, bonito, and dried sardines) and spices. They also use miso as a hidden flavor, showing that their creative curry is truly exceptional. Today's curry was the Chinese-style spicy pork keema for 1,050 yen. I visited around 3 pm on a holiday, and the popular chicken curry was sold out. I ordered the Chinese-style curry, which was an interesting menu using Chinese spices. It had a summer-like spiciness with Sichuan pepper and chili, along with onions, eggplant, carrots, and other ingredients to express the essence of summer curry. The curry paste had a flavor of bonito dashi, adding a Japanese touch to the curry. The keema, a staple menu, was well-seasoned and flavorful. The spiciness was mild but very delicious! The side dishes, such as onion tamarind and bean paste, were also tasty, especially when mixed together to create a mellow flavor. The turmeric rice complemented the dish with its fragrant aroma. In July 2023, after having lunch at "Teishokudou Kongouseki" in Matsuya-cho, I headed to "Sousaku Curry Tsukinowa" next (it's been a while since I did a curry crawl). I arrived at the restaurant around 12:10. Luckily, I could enter the restaurant right away without waiting outside. I sat at the counter. The curry of the day was Tomato and Chicken Seseri Basil Curry for 1050 yen. Since I had Tandoori Butter Chicken & Pork Vindaloo at the first place, it was nice to try a different type of curry this time. I chose turmeric rice. After a short wait, the curry was ready. Let's dig in. The curry was filled with pumpkin, radish, cabbage, potato paste, red onions, watercress, eggplant, tomatoes, basil, and other vegetables, along with chicken seseri. The combination was to my liking. It had a Japanese-style dashi base with well-balanced spices, making it a delicious curry suitable even for hot days. It was very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

It brings out the gentleness with Japanese dashi, but the aftertaste is like "THE Spice Curry." It was delicious. The chunky chicken had a satisfying texture, which was great. On this trip, I revisited curry restaurants that I had previously visited on my "Curry Journey". This day, I decided to try out three restaurants in Osaka. First up is "Sosaku Curry Tsukinowa". Their curry is based on dashi made from kombu, bonito, and dried sardines, with miso added to give it a Japanese-style flavor that is easily accepted by Japanese people.
