A night at Rangolo. Lots of small dishes, paired with wine, and happiness.

Stylish Italian lunch drinking ♥ When I went to this counter-style restaurant with about 8 people, it was packed! The menu had just the right amount of food, perfect for chatting and drinking with the girls ♥ In the end, we had a lot of dishes:
- Ratatouille and potato salad: Great appetizers, the small portions were perfect for us girls ✌
- Edamame hummus: Rich edamame flavor, so delicious!
- Langoustine omelette with mayo: Looks great with the Caesar dressing and soft-boiled egg.
- Tomato and ricotta cheese cold spaghetti: Delicious and refreshing, perfect for summer.
- Cheese platter: They ask what kind of cheese you like, so be sure to let them know your preferences.
- Marinated olives: Quite sour, not my favorite but some might like it.
This place is stylish and trendy, perfect for natural wine lovers. Highly recommended for a chic girls' lunch drinking session!

I recently visited Rangoro. I ordered the half-pairing course. Everything I ate was delicious, and I was able to enjoy a relaxing time while pairing the meal with wine. It's often fully booked, but I would like to go again. #OsakaGourmet

☑︎ Bonito
☑︎ Soup with Live Sakura Shrimp

During the Golden Week in 2023, both transportation and tourist spots are extremely crowded, and accommodation prices skyrocket, so I prefer to spend it relaxing at home every year~♪ I made a reservation to enjoy some delicious food near my house, at a European home-cooked meal and wine restaurant called "Langolo," located just outside the south entrance of Japan's longest Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street. This is my fourth review since last year's Christmas when I ordered a takeout "roast chicken" for a birthday and Christmas party at home. Despite the rain, my friend and I arrived at the store front 10 minutes before the 6:00 PM opening time, and were seated at the back of the L-shaped counter. We ordered the Full Pairing Course with 8 dishes for ¥13,000, which included various wines and dishes such as mozzarella salad, terrine of Italian fava beans, boiled ham mimosa, seared bonito with fruit tomato salad, and lemon squeezed ayu sauce over firefly squid paella. The dessert was an orange cake served with Embankment coffee from Rwanda. We both enjoyed the wine pairing with a sparkling rosé for the toast, and the highlight of the meal was the pasta roll, which showcased the chef's improved skills with its intricate flavors. The paella with firefly squid was also a standout dish with its vibrant colors and delicious flavors. Since the restaurant is within walking distance from my home, offers reasonable prices, and allows us to enjoy plenty of wine, we have decided to visit regularly. Bon appétit! (●^o^●)

In April 2023, I visited 'L'angolo' for the first time this year. Despite being short-staffed, the restaurant seemed to have powered up and everything went smoothly. I had the Full Pairing Course which included 8 dishes for 13,000 yen. The highlights were the salad with mozzarella from Yoshida Ranch, seared bonito, the soup with fresh sakura shrimp from Shizuoka, pasta roll, and the paella with firefly squid. The spring-themed menu paired perfectly with the wines, making it a delightful evening. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Excellent. Omakase course with wine pairing. The wine is served in a refillable manner. All the dishes are delicious, with a gentle and flavorful taste that highlights the ingredients. And make sure to add the amazing custard pudding! The friendly conversations with the owner, who loves to chat, are enjoyable, and the cozy atmosphere at the counter allows for interactions between customers. I wish I had known about this place when I was in Osaka, but I will definitely go back!

In December 2022, I visited Yoran-go-san after experiencing Ape-ran-go-san last month and really wanted to try it out at night. I made a reservation and arrived at 6 pm. I sat at the counter towards the back. This time, I opted for the chef's course with wine pairing. The dishes and wines I enjoyed are as follows:
- Camillo Donati Malvasia Frizzante Secco 2020 with Pesto soup
- Sons of Wine Muscat Inspiration with Grilled Sawara from Akashi
- Domaine les Gauchers L'Herbe Tendre 2018 with Homemade boiled ham and Poiré tartine
- Dario Prinčič Vino Bianco with Seared Kamas from Nagasaki and chrysanthemum puree
- Nicholas Altare Dogliani 2019 with Shirako and lily root gratin
- Schmitt Spätburgunder 2020 with Sherry wine stewed wild boar shoulder loin from Mimasaka, Okayama
- Weingut Walldorf Pinot Noir 2018 with Chestnut flour fettuccine Saracicha and mushroom cream sauce
- Ashiya Uf-fu Earl Grey with Gâteau Ardechois (chestnut cake)
The portion sizes seemed manageable, but in the end, it was quite filling. Although all the dishes were delicious, my personal favorites were the Shirako and lily root gratin and the wild boar shoulder loin. The wines paired well with the courses, and considering the quality and price of this course, I have no complaints. The cozy atmosphere also made for a pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I revisited the European home-cooked meal and wine restaurant "Langolo" in Tenjinbashi 1-chome on December 9, 2022. About half a month ago, I enjoyed some light snacks and natural wine at the "Aperangolo" starting at 3 pm, and this time, my friend and I made a reservation for the evening course meal and wine pairing at 6 pm. We were seated at the corner seat at the back of the counter and enjoyed the Full Pairing Course for 13,000 yen. It included: 1) White Wine: Camillo Donati Malvasia Frizzante Secco 2020 with Soup Pistou, 2) Orange Wine: Sons of Wine Muscat Inspiration with Grilled Sawara from Akashi, 3) White Wine: Domaine les Gauchers L'Herbe Tendre 2018 with Homemade Boiled Ham and Poirée Tartine, 4) Orange Wine: Dario Prinčič Vino Bianco with Grilled Kamasu from Nagasaki and Chrysanthemum Puree, 5) Red Wine: Nicholas Altare Dogliani 2019 with Shirako and Lily Root Gratin, 6) Red Wine: Schmitt Spätburgunder 2020 with Sherry-soaked Wild Boar Shoulder Loin from Okayama Mimasaka, 7) Red Wine: Weingut Walldorf Pinot Noir 2018 with Chestnut Fettuccine Salsiccia and Mushroom Cream Sauce, 8) Coffee. Although I'm not a big fan of wine because it makes me tipsy quickly, I decided to go for the Full Pairing this time since the wines were very easy to drink and paired well with the dishes last time. The 7-course dinner was even more delicious than the light snacks we had before, and the quality was outstanding. The wines were all easy to drink with pleasant aromas, and I walked home feeling happy and light-hearted without getting too drunk. I missed out on ordering the Christmas chicken last time, but luckily, there was one left on this day, so I immediately placed an order. Next, I will visit on Christmas Day, my birthday, to pick up a takeout. Thank you for the delicious meal! (●^o^●)

In November 2022, on a rainy holiday when I didn't feel like going far, I stumbled upon a great find in Tenjinbashi 1-chome - a place where you can enjoy wine from 3 pm! I had been eyeing this place on Instagram and decided to check it out for a quick outing. The cozy atmosphere and warm wood interior made it the perfect spot for wine. I initially planned to have just one glass of wine and a small dish. Here's what I ordered:
- Kampanu from Kyoto Tango's "Yasaka Kiln"
- Langoro's egg mayo
- Marinated olives
- Country-style meat pate
- Seared Sawara from Akashi with eggplant puree and grated daikon
- Homemade boiled ham and white onion tartine (using bread from "Yasaka Kiln")
- Soup pistou
Wines:
- Andre Beaufort Beaufort Freres 2016
- Pierre Frick Riesling 2021 (from Alsace, France)
- Luc Bauer Monday is a wine day 2020 (from Savoie, France)
What was meant to be a quick drink turned into a delightful experience with delicious food, wine, and friendly staff. I ended up staying longer than planned. I couldn't believe I had missed out on such a great local spot before! I've already made a reservation for dinner in December and I'm looking forward to it. I was also intrigued by the Christmas takeout menu featuring "Roast chicken stuffed with chestnut risotto," but unfortunately, it was already sold out when I tried to order. Bummer!

Today is a holiday (Labor Thanksgiving Day), which is irrelevant to me as I retired two and a half years ago and enjoy a life of indulgence. However, a friend invited me to have a light glass of wine before dinner to celebrate myself. We went to a European home-style cooking and wine shop called "Langolo," located just a few minutes' walk from my home, at the south exit of Japan's longest Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street. The shop, which opened in October 2020, operates irregularly from 6 pm to 11 pm, but also offers "Aperangolo" from 3 pm to 6 pm, where you can enjoy natural wine and light snacks. I arrived right at 3 pm and was lucky to find the shop open with two male staff visible from outside. Interestingly, despite being located right across from the orthopedic clinic I visit, I had never noticed it before. By the way, the name "Langolo" means "corner" or "street corner" in Italian. We were seated at a cozy L-shaped counter in the corner, and we were served:
- Drinks
Champagne: Andre Beaufort Beaufort Freres Brut Nature 2016
White wine: Pierre Frick Riesling 2021 (Alsace, France)
Red wine: Maria Bortolotti La XII Notte La Natura Ama Nascondersi Rosso 2015 (Emilia-Romagna)
- Aperangolo (wine and snacks to share)
Kyotango Yae Kama's Campagne Bread x 2 - ¥220 each
Langolo's Egg Mayo - ¥300
Marinated Olives - ¥480
Country-style Meat Pate - ¥800
Seared Akashi Sawara (Spanish Mackerel) - ¥500
Homemade Boiled Ham and Leek Tartine - ¥800
Soup Pistou - ¥500
We started with a toast with glasses of champagne and ended up eating and drinking heartily to the point where we didn't need dinner anymore. The wine was very easy to drink and paired well with the delicious dishes. We ended up spending ¥9,820 for two people, far exceeding our initial plan of having a light drink and snack. We enjoyed the experience so much that we made a reservation for the "Night Langolo" starting at 6 pm in early December. I later found out that the restaurant was recognized as a Bib Gourmand in the 'Michelin Guide Osaka 2023.' Bib Gourmand is a recognition for restaurants that offer high-quality dishes at a good value, priced at 6,000 yen or less. Bon appétit! (●^o^●) ===========

I went to a lovely restaurant recommended by a friend who is into natural wines. Finally, after about 4 months, I got the chance to visit! We started with some sparkling wine to quench our thirst. It had a bitter citrus peel and core-like aroma that made me want to keep smelling it. For food, we ordered:
- Beet and ricotta cheese salad
- Meat pate
- Seared mackerel salad
The beet and ricotta cheese salad looked adorable on the plate and tasted very gentle and delightful. The meat pate was rich and flavorful, especially when paired with mustard sauce. The mackerel, served with coarse radish and eggplant puree, had a perfect balance and went really well with the wine. The restaurant itself was cute and had a great atmosphere. The staff were attentive and made sure each customer felt taken care of. It was a surprisingly wonderful experience at this restaurant!!! Thank you for the delicious meal.

Hello. Today's visit to Langolo was in the evening, not during lunch. The drinks and menu were like this. We sat at the counter and left it to the chef. White wine, please. Red wine, please. We also ordered pasta. It's a cozy and relaxing place where you can take your time. I'd like to try Langolo during lunch next time. Thank you for the meal. Goodbye.

[Visit Date] Dinner on 3/2/2022
[Order] Course, 6-day work week Poggi Alti Pierre Frick CROCI VALTOLLA, with additional pasta
Yesterday, I walked to Minami-Senju after work. I visited the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant, Rangoro. I arrived at 7 pm as usual, dining alone. I went for the 5500 yen course, a one-shot deal. It included many of my favorite ingredients, but what left an impression on me was the gratin of Sakoshi oysters and the pasta I added with shirasu and broccoli. The wine selection was quite extensive, but it didn't quite hit the mark that day. The bill came out to 10,000 yen, which was cheaper than I expected. Thank you for the meal.

We enjoyed the chef's choice menu with wine pairing. The dishes were simple yet delicious, highlighting the quality of the ingredients. The portions were small but there were many courses, so we left feeling satisfied. The meal included dishes such as lemon-marinated flounder, mackerel tartine, grilled bonito, eggplant with caviar, brandade de morue, oyster and Spanish mackerel soup, Kamembert from Yoshida Ranch, roast Tajima beef, tortellini in broth, and tarte tatin. The dessert was Earl Grey chiffon cake.

L'angolo is a neighborhood restaurant where the owners often greet passersby. They were recently selected for the Bib Gourmand in the 2022 Michelin Guide for Kyoto and Osaka, so I decided to visit them to congratulate them. The restaurant is located at 1-12-1 Tenjinbashi, Kita-ku, Osaka, an 8-minute walk from Osaka Temmangu Station on the JR Tozai Line. They usually open at 1 pm, but occasionally offer morning service from 10 am to 12 pm. Their operating days and hours are posted on Instagram. I arrived at the restaurant around 8:30 am, and although it was raining in the morning, the weather had cleared up nicely. I waited for the opening time on a DIY bench outside the restaurant. When they opened, I entered the restaurant and was seated at the back after sanitizing my hands with alcohol at the entrance. I chose the morning L'angolo plate, the deli plate, and selected some bread options. There were various customization options available. My husband ordered two morning L'angolo plates with egg dishes, homemade ham, and country-style meat pate, along with bread and drinks. We shared the meal, and everything looked delicious. The cheese toast from Lulut, a famous bakery in the West, was especially tasty. The country-style meat pate was flavorful and went well with red wine. The omelet, potato salad, and other dishes were also delicious. I also recommend trying their homemade ham and prosciutto. The meal was satisfying, and we thanked the staff before leaving the restaurant. It was a delightful experience, and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

I went to the Temmabashi area for the first time in a while♡ Today, I was invited by my female colleagues for a lunch drink! The restaurant opens at 15:00, so that's where we started. First, I quenched my thirst with a craft beer. I chose one with a cute package. We enjoyed our meal with natural wine that goes well with the food. The wine had a good aroma and a gentle taste that is easy on the body, so you can drink without feeling heavy. In the latter half, we were too absorbed in eating and chatting to take photos! I will definitely come back again. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Pudding ♬ Pudding ♬ A shop I had been seeing on Instagram for a while. The location is two streets south from the front of Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, turn right at the first corner. The shop is located at the first corner. It's just after passing through the shopping street and walking a bit. Normally, it seems to be a shop where you can enjoy European cuisine and wine. Currently, during the state of emergency, they seem to be focusing on cafe-style. On this day, they had a dessert time ♬ with a barista invited from 3 pm, so I visited with the goal of pudding. I was guided to a seat, given a menu, and undoubtedly felt like having homemade pudding ♡ And then, the coffee was explained... I mentioned that I'm not good with coffee and that milk and sugar are essential. And then you get to choose, it's fun just to watch. And when it's done, you can have it without anything added... actually, you can even have it black... no, no, they provided warm milk and sugar. The pudding also appeared. Flat pudding appeared. I enjoyed it. There were also baked goods. And my preference for pudding has become clear. The payment was made with PayPay ♬ 1000 yen. It seems that I like the firm traditional pudding, with a clear bitterness and sweetness of the caramel. My pudding activities will continue (^_-)-☆

A newly opened shop located on the south side of Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street. They serve Italian and French home-cooked dishes paired with natural wine. The chef is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. It's like a smaller version of the popular restaurant Onzoro in Senba-cho, and it's sure to be a hit with women. They also offer lunch specials, making it a great spot for daytime drinking.

I went to an Italian restaurant for lunch and ended up drinking Vino da Tavola (house wine) from noon. I had planned to drink lightly, but the food was so delicious that I ended up drinking too much. You can order a la carte style for lunch, from main dishes to pasta and dessert. It's fun to choose appetizers from the showcase. I ended up drinking too much Vino da Tavola again. It's a great restaurant.
